I can't commend this shop enough about how they deal with customers!…read moreA few years ago I decided I wanted two gerbils, I had had 2 picked out for a couple of weeks beforehand and when I finally got them and bought them home we realised one had something wrong with it's foot - it had a club foot. We phoned pets at home and had a lengthy discussion with them about it and in the end we decided it would be best to take him back and swap him for a different one (after being assured he wouldn't be put down!). After a few hours we felt so guilty we asked if we could have the disabled one back - they happily obliged and let us have him for free! The shop itself is a nice size and has lots of different animals as well as a dog grooming salon. I find it to be quite expensve but at least it's good quality.

They have a small outdoor area with a pond which has fish in it. Its lovely to sit and watch them. It sells lots of things, ranging from various fish and tanks, to small animals and cages. It also sells any food that you require. The staff there are very knowledgeable about pets and fish. There is no pressure to buy, we often go there to look at the animals and fish. We do buy pet food etc, but often come away without spending, just 2 kids who are asking for more pets!

Bought a tank and then some tropical fish from there recently for my daughters bedroom. One died within two days, the others are fine. took it back for a water test, filter working OK but the ammonia was high - fair enough - however, on the basis that the others are fine we still don't know for sure that this is what killed the fish. Instead of getting a replacement fish with a "you need to do a water change asap" all I got was a shrug! So much for customer service, I have spent almost £100 there recently. Cost of fish £3.49 The moral of the story is buy from there by all means but don't expect any refund or replacement when you lose them after two days. I seem to recall that was the reason I stopped buying from there some time ago, always lost a high percentage, this is the first time I have taken one back. Never had that problem from Deepdale Aquatics! Nuff said.
