Do not use this service. I asked Frank to repair six slingback chairs, three using existing slings and three where he made new ones. The chairs where he made the new slings are the visibility bent (please see photos for example). There is also other install damage. After the chairs were delivered, I spoke with Frank on the phone and he initially said that the chairs were already bent, but then changed story to say that, by copying the existing slings I gave him, it resulted in incorrect dimensions which caused the bends. I do not know why he did not make new slings for the chairs when he realized that they were not fitting. I called a few weeks into the install to see how things were going and he yelled at me saying that I was interrupting him. He could have instead used that time to tell me that he was having difficulty and how we could address it. His form of resolution was to either ask more money of me to redo the bent chairs, or to do half off of the install on the three bent chairs. I paid him so I could move on to another vendor to try to repair the damage. Total cost was $790 ($910-120). His customer service approach is to blame the customer and yell at them when he is on the back foot. It took 4 weeks to install three existing slings, make three new slings, and bend three of my chairs during the installation. You would do well to avoid using this business as they would rather pass off poor work and blame the owner when they complain. Towards the end of our conversation, Frank started blaming the quality of the chair. These are Mallin brand, which are high quality. read more

I bought a vintage Medallion aluminum lounge chaise ( made in USA in the 60s) that needed to be refreshed. The frame is excellent condition, but the vinyl straps have discolored over the years . I contacted Mr Chairman by phone , and asked if I can text in photos to get a quote . ( in the service industry the most efficient way to get quotes is to provide pics of what needs to be done ). I texted a few photos and he got back to me same day with a quote I brought the lounger in yesterday late morning. Was told turnaround time would be take about 2 weeks This morning Mr Wu texted me to say it's ready to be picked up! The super fast turnaround was possible only because the material was in stock. I've paid twice as much from other places but got this referral from a show room and I'm so glad I did. I'll never use anyone else. He picked everything up. And dropped it off done. Sadly Mr. Wu might be going through some issues and I sympathize. However, he has had my cushions since March of 2021-yes, you read that right. Phone calls--emails--snail mail is ignored as others have said. Sad. Had a great reputation. I have the papers for small claims on my desk but do NOT want to litigate. Sent a letter begging for info and have again--received no response. Sad. I even contacted the city of Milpitas to see if he is still in business. I drove to Milpitas from the Walnut Creek area and put a note on his van and in the mail slot to please call me. Nothing. Sad. Arrogant piece of shit this guy 'mr chairman' is. Called him on phone and asked him how much he'll charge to replace the string in my umbrella because it is broken. He said $75. I agreed. We took it there and then he says he will charge $110. He said if you want to argue, take the umbrella back. Although I desperately needed to get this fixed, his attitude was so terrible that I got the umbrella back. I will never ever in my lifetime go back to this shit pot. read more

Mr Chairman was recommended to me to have our Tropitone chairs refinished and the chair seats restrung. We are very happy with the outcome and how quickly completed. There were a couple minor glitches that were worked out. All in all, I would definitely use this service again. read more

Excellent work from Frank Wu and his company. He reslung and painted 10 Brown and Jordan patio chairs, an ottoman and painted a round table. He was upfront about pricing, the chairs needed a lot of work and it took time, but they look and feel brand new now. The upholstery is firm and the work is excellent. We just had our sling style patio furniture recovered by Mr Chairman. He offered amazing customer service-he was prompt with a quote, offered pick up and delivery for a small fee and the turnaround time was 2 weeks!! Yes, you read that right, only two weeks, and we're talking the middle of summer with the 4th of July around the corner. I had called two other furniture upholstery shops in Concord and was quoted $1000.00 more than Mr. Chairman. And, their turnaround was 6 weeks!! Both of them. Everything came out beautiful and he even gave us a tip to make the frames look like new again. Don't bother with the more expensive stuff they try to sell you at patio furniture places-good ol car wax is all you need. Haven't gotten that far yet, but will definitely try it. read more

First of all, this business is not closed. It is called Mr. Chairman & Sons, same location in Milpitas. Website URL is incorrect on Yelp, it should read www.chairmanandsons.com.Very disappointed with this place. Less than one year of having an item restrapped, it was clear that 5 of the straps were oxidizing badly and prematurely. These straps were not exposed to foliage or chemicals to cause this. The straps were intermixed with others that still look fine so it seems to be just bad material. I contacted the owner and he asked me to send photos, but he would fix them for me. He later asked if I could be bring it there to Milpitas, which I am not able to do, so I just asked he come by when he's in the area next. What has ensued for the past 3 months since is numerous calls and texts asking him to pick it up. At one point in June he said he may come out later in the week but would call me. The latest was finally he said he would swing by last Saturday a.m.and he instructed me to put it out on the driveway. I confirmed my address for him and he acknowledged it. I also texted again earlier Sat to say the item was ready. He texted back "OK". He never showed up and ignored my message asking if he would come. It's clear that the owner doesn't care about his customers, any future business he might get from me, or potential referrals. read more
