After 1-2 minutes of thinking and I was walking out the door, the worker said the boba is ready and I said great! So, I got a drink with the supposedly done tapioca. I left the store, excited to have a nice drink while I explore the city. Low and behold, the boba was undercooked, hard, and just gross. I just threw away the drink as I was already too far away from the store to complain. What a waste! I would've happily just came back later when the boba was actually done, however, I was rushed and I didn't like that. Therefore, I believe this place values profits over people. I will not be back! However, the drink I received was so bland; it really tasted like milk with watery tea. It was not up to par. What I do like: the upstairs seating is generous and the decor is intentional--trying to create a warm, inviting atmosphere. There is a restroom (always a plus when you're drinking a large amount of liquid). And generally, I'm excited to see interest and competition for bubble tea drinks in Europe. I'll also praise their service. It wasn't until after I sat down that I realized the official business hours had already ended. Nevertheless, the nice staff member still took my order, asked if it was to-go or for-here, and she delivered my drink to me at my table. I would have rated Sphere Bay with two-stars for the drink quality, but I think they do a good job creating a welcoming environment and I really want to see it succeed. Tip to the staff: double the strength of your tea when you brew it, then when you add the milk, it won't taste as watery. And keep taste testing the sweetness level, mine was pretty bad.

It would have been a bummer if I were unprepared after standing in line. They are currently following Covid protocols. Only six people are allowed inside at a time. Because it's popular on a Saturday afternoon, the line is out the door. The wait didn't feel long, though. They do a good job of moving things along. The menu is not super extensive but they have the basics. I chose Taro Milchtee (Taro milk tea). They have have the add ins on the menu but at the register, they have an official list of what they have that day. Your receipt has a number. They call both the number and your order when it's ready. Of course there is no seating inside due to Covid. You have to take your drink out. OneZo is a chain and it is a welcome change of pace to find it in Bonn.
