The flavor was definitely there and the BBQ sauce was really good, but I felt like the ribs themselves didn't have much meat on them. The bones were larger than the actual amount of meat, which was a little disappointing for a full rack order. Aside from that, the overall taste was solid and I'd probably come back, but next time I'd try a different menu item instead of the ribs. Service was straightforward since I did takeout, but the pickup process was easy and the restaurant itself was packed with people. There's plenty of seating inside and it definitely seemed like a popular local spot.

Everyone who spoke to me looked me straight in the eyes. To a soul each person was polite, friendly, and helpful, and personable. Honestly, I haven't been treated like this in a restaurant in ages, maybe ever. But that was just the beginning! All guests are offered complimentary lemonade, and trust me, you want it. It's yummy. I had thought I'd just grab to-go, but when the staff asked and I looked around at the rustic homey setting, I decided to stay. So glad I did! As I would discover food like this is best enjoyed with other people around. Plus it was a pleasure to see how the staff treated each diner and delivery driver with respect and kindness. After some time with the menu, I decided on Brisket and Two Meats, ordering mixed brisket, pork, and chicken. It came with fried cornbread and two sides. I wanted to try more sides so in addition to potato salad and collard greens, I ordered black eyed peas, and sweet yams. Good heavens what a delicious meal! The brisket was so tender and moist. Truly the best I've ever had. The pork was chunked up and very tasty. And the chicken had a great char. Once I'd tasted everything, and realized it could all stand alone with no sauces, I added the bbq sauces. After all that's what I came for, and wow did Lickie Stickie deliver! One bbq sauce is a red sauce with wine - insanely good on the brisket, and the other is sweet and tangy with mustard - delicious on the chicken. Both are perfect! The pork could go either way. I liked the red on it. The sides were all tasty. Collards are a favorite of mine and these were quite good. The yams were delightful. The potato salad was good. The food was a very big portion. I ate til I was full and took home two very full containers of food. My first bite of the evening was the black-eyed peas. It was my first bite and my favorite bite all evening. Now, that in no way diminishes the utter deliciousness of all the rest of Chef Lynette's cooking. My eyes repeatedly rolled back in my head this whole meal., But it does tell you how much I loved those black-eyed peas. They had okra and turkey in them and they were beyond excellent. Food like this only comes from love. Go get ya some!

The love and light…read morethat lives in Chef Juliette truly trickles down through her staff and shows up in every detail of the service. No matter when I visit, it's always a warm, hospitable experience--honestly reminiscent of The Ritz-Carlton. Surrounding businesses could learn a great deal from them. I first met Chef Juliette during a visit from DC in September 2025. My best friend introduced us, and immediately I felt the love of a mother and the passion of a seasoned chef who genuinely loves what she does. And that passion? It translates directly through the food. A few weeks ago, I was back in town visiting again, and the energy was exactly the same. We stopped by to pick up a catering order for an event, and Chef Juliette sent us off with pork chop sandwiches so big--and so good--I barely touched the catering food that day (thank goodness for to-go boxes and a freezer). I was able to bring back BBQ chicken, ribs, and the "Turn It Up Rice"--which is out of this world. Perfectly cooked rice layered with crisp vegetables, shrimp, chicken, and brisket... smoky, flavorful, and such a creative spin on fried rice. Then, the day after, Chef invited us back for a VIP experience--and when I say the love is real, y'all... it's real! She prepared a savory seafood étouffée enriched with shrimp and lobster, served over creamy polenta--an elevated take on traditional shrimp and grits. Paired with fresh-baked buttermilk biscuits, sausage from her brother in Georgia, and perfectly crispy bacon... everything was divine. The kind of meal that evokes emotion--the kind that makes you feel genuinely cared for. The restaurant itself feels cozy and welcoming--rich with history and personality. Every time I visit, I discover a new layer of her story which is told along the walls and decor. Chef Juliette is truly something special. If you're ever in the Pompano or Fort Lauderdale area, do yourself a favor and visit Lickie Stickie! And don't leave without trying the baked beans and black-eyed peas--Chef puts okra in them, and I don't want them any other way ever again. Outstanding.

A perfect setting. The cashier/order taker was a gracious lady, polite, and attentive. The place had a pleasant, smoky aroma, just like it should. My wife and I went for the food, which is the central point of going to a restaurant. And the results met my expectations of the "Texas Standard". Brisket: full of flavor, with a nice smoky and all round taste. A minor issue was that it could have been a bit more moist. I say minor because this is the easiest thing to correct, by small adjustment. First rate. Spare ribs: excellent. My wife was over the moon. She is Brazilian and a veteran of Brazil BBQ. They were delicious. Chicken: perfectly smoked and moist. Even the white meat. There was a present bark on the surface, which added to the taste. Sausage: delightful. Obviously an individual, small batch recipe. Very flavorful and moist. Superb. Cornbread: My favorite style of light, natural flavor, not oily. Iced Tea: fresh taste and flavor. Not bitter. High quality. Sauces: regular and tangy. As good as I have ever tasted. Potato Salad: The best I have ever tasted in my 78 years. Different and unique. Coleslaw: Perfect. Cannot, in my opinion, be improved upon. Price: surprisingly fair. Very fair. I was pleasantly surprised at such Texas quality in Fort Lauderdale. We will be going to no other for BBQ.

I want smoked taste; that is the essence of BBQ. The chicken was also delicious. This is real BBQ. Who am I to declare? Born is San Antonio,Texas. Have eaten Texas BBQ all my life all over the Lone Star State. This, and Carolinas, are the epicenters of BBQ. This place combines both styles. Their BBQ is not hurried or commercialized. You find this style of BBQ a lot on the West Coast of Florida, where small places produce excellent CLASSIC BBQ. The sides were very good. The people are very friendly and competent. This is not a fancy place but just real, honest BBQ that is done well and with love. Now, there is another review on here that is very negative. His rambling, incoherent, urban-effete style carpings do nothing to add to the focus on the food. The smokey flavor on the ribs is just the opposite of what he describes. Regarding Jenkins, I gave it up long ago. There is no love for what they do. I was given BBQ that was refrigerated in aluminum foil-made earlier. The ribs were dry and too lightly smoked. And the surly service, I note the finely tuned masochism urbane sophisticate appreciation or the verbose reviewer's fine appreciation for absorbing insults and animus from a service that he pays for. "It's sort of understood that the workers at a genuine BBQ place will be surly and grouchy (you know the ribs have got to be good if the employees are unpleasant, right? I mean, go check out Tom Jenkins and you'll know what I mean..)" The style of writing comes from an urban sequestered mentality of brouhaha and BS. Give me the smoke, not the dope.
