Oxtail risotto - this one had mixed reviews from the table, I really enjoyed it. The flavor was good. There's only a small amount of meat and it's shredded into the risotto. Overall the consistency was a little weird, very thick and almost sticky/dry, plus the dark color. They had a steak on the menu and the flavor was great, one of the pricier menu items but it was a good share. My wife ordered a burger without the bun. She said the patty was well over-cooked and so it was pretty dry. They don't offer gluten-free buns or bread - bummer. The service was generally prompt, but seemed uncoordinated at times. For example, it seemed our waitress was also handling a very large party outside on the patio, and randomly the hostess would bring us a drink refill (hostess stand was right beside our table). That's good in a way, they are all a team, but she also picked up my plate and silverware after only the first appetizer - mind you they bring everything out as it's ready, so don't expect the whole table to eat together, you are expected to share! When I asked if she could replace my silverware, she grabbed a fork and knife and handed to me, but they weren't rolled in a napkin or anything, just barehanded me some silverware... anyway, I thought that was odd. At 9:30 PM, a full 30 minutes before the posted closing time of 10:00 PM, the staff began rushing us out while my wife was still eating. When it came time to pay our bill, our bank cards were temporarily unavailable due to a system outage. We had the money. This was not a financial issue. It was a technical one we were actively working to resolve. Instead of being given a moment, security surrounded our table and treated us as though we were attempting to leave without paying. We were not. We never attempted to leave. I want to note that a couple of the security members were actually kind and professional throughout. A manager then approached with immediate hostility white male, tattoos, wearing a white crop shirt, and beige pants) no introduction, and no interest in hearing our explanation. I want to Emphasize That everyone working there refused to give me his name (white male) I even attempted to ask him and he walked away. He made demeaning remarks about our finances and specifically told us that if we didn't pay, he would call the police and trespass us, but if we paid, he would not. We paid. My brother sent $30 via Zelle directly to a security staff member to settle the bill. It was paid in full. He called the police anyway. And trespassed us anyway. I had offered to leave my ID as collateral, leave card information on file, or return the next morning. Every offer was refused before we even got to that point. The responding officers acknowledged his behavior was inappropriate. His own staff was visibly uncomfortable. Unless you are prepared to be treated as a suspect over something completely outside your control, I would think twice before dining here.
