Disappointing Experience with Poor Service…read more In August 2024, I brought my iPad in for a battery replacement. Unfortunately, the new battery failed to perform as expected, depleting within an hour. I contacted the company in December and returned to them in January--well within the warranty period. At that time, Juan assured me the issue was resolved and advised that if the problem recurred, I should bring the device back. Regrettably, the iPad continued to behave as if it still had its original battery, draining quickly even with notifications turned off and no apps running. When I called today to inform Juan of my decision to return the device, he refused to take responsibility for the defective battery and declined to honor the warranty. Instead, he insisted that I pay for another battery replacement. Given that this is the second time I have received a defective battery, I find it unacceptable that the company expects me to pay again for a product they provided despite knowing it was faulty. I am extremely disappointed with their service and cannot, in good conscience, recommend their business. If it were possible, I would rate this experience a -10.

See, if you're a girl and you go to that other auto parts store - ya know, the one that rhymes with Motto Hone - you're pretty much on your own. You're expected to find the right windshield wiper blade for your car, despite the fact that there's an entire wall devoted to them. Then, you're expected to actually know how to put it on your window. (if you're a girl that has all of this knowledge - more power to ya, sister) Not at O'Reilly. Not only do they have a nifty little computer that helps you match your car's make and model to the correct size blades, the guys behind the counter will actually leave the counter and come put the blades on for you. Or change your blinker light. Or show you where the oil goes vs. where the transmission fluid goes. (they'll also come out in the middle of a rainstorm to check your dead battery, even though your husband is there with you) I'm not saying I don't know cars because I'm a girl, nor am I saying that the employees of O'Reilly are only helping me because I have boobs. I'm just saying that this is the store that goes that extra little step to help a girl out. And that's really all that counts, right?

I have gone in the past and the battery they crossed to the original battery just barely didn't match the dimensions of the original battery and I couldn't close the housing. I ended up returning the battery. This time I bought a battery that size didn't matter. The original battery was a 12V 5A battery. I walk in and I go up to the shelves and begin to pick up the battery that matches the size and the guy behind the counter starts saying, "Leave that one there. Leave that one there!" I think to myself, "but this is the one I want to buy...." He finally says, "Those are display and have been there for months. Here's a fresh one." OH. okay. why didn't you say so? The replacement battery was a similiar sized battery, but I didn't actually measure it to check. It was 12V but only 4.5A instead. Not that big of a deal, but I would have preferred a higher capacity. My application had very little constraints on the dimension tolerances, so close enough was just fine. I could have gone with a larger battery but I didn't want to deal with researching a battery that would fit. I'm sure Interstate could have helped me find one that would have worked. They also sell automotive batteries! Check this place out!

A battery failing in 4 months is obviously defective, but instead of standing behind their product, they made excuses and wouldn't replace it. So apparently their "warranty" is just something they say to get your money -- don't expect them to actually back it up. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere that stands behind what they sell. This place clearly doesn't.

FYI, I tried to fix my own battery and I have to let you know that is not an easy task, hybrid batteries are super complex. After more than a decade of driving the car, the OBD code P08A0 started popping up repeatedly (and I kept clearing it with my OBD reader). Greentec was able to replace the battery for a significantly lower price than the dealership quoted. The replacement took about 3 hours and was completed the same day. It's been almost 2 months since the replacement, and I haven't seen the error code once. The car runs much smoother, MPG has improved, and the engine doesn't kick in nearly as often. The regenerative braking felt a little different at first, but that must have been a recalibration period -- everything runs very smoothly now. Highly recommend.
