He will take extra time, every time, to make sure your haircut is perfect. Now, contrary to the post of Pete K., I appreciate the appointment-only way he conducts business. His appointments start early (really, really early... before most are awake) and the reason he won't always take walk-in business (though he has, at times) is because he caters to professionals who have schedules to meet. If he promises you a time, you will get your hair cut at that time and out within 30 minutes. If you can't appreciate the way appointments work, chances are, you have nothing better going on in your life anyways and have the time to wait, anyways. I have been a loyal customer here for three and a half years and recommend this barber shop to every man I know. I have never posted a Yelp review before, but have read many where people frequent the same businesses that I do and write unbelievable stories like Pete K. did here. Vern is a good guy, and I have really difficult hair to make look good (which he does, every single time) so I wanted to take this chance to set the record straight, because I have seen people walk in and get mad that they can't be served right away, and Vern has never been anything but polite and professional in response.

Asked for a mid drop fade and the barber didn't fade the back whatsoever. They left a straight line way higher than where it should be as you can see in the image attached. Three times in a row I had a scheduled appointment only to find out that Ashley was running late…read more First time was 20 minutes late, second time was 30 minutes late and the final appointment she was was 45 minutes behind schedule. Is she double booking? Sleeping late? I have no idea, but every appointment has been a disappointment, I will go elsewhere for now on. She obviously doesn't respect my time, NS WHAT A SHAME, because I had been going there for years in Ferndale before I moved and this nonsense started at their Birmingham location.
