Not a pleasant interaction with Chuck…read more I was running 5 minutes late for my appointment, so I called ahead since I haven't been here before to make sure I wouldn't lose the reservation. Another barber said "sounds good," so I assumed I was good. Wrong. When I arrived, Chuck asked "Are you Kory?" I said "Yeah, Chuck? Nice to meet you," and reached out to shake his hand. He ignored my handshake and ranted about being the owner and he doesn't take late arrivals. Which is fair, it's his business and he can have whatever policy he wants. But the frustrating part is that I had just called ahead and was told it was fine. So I started to leave while explaining that I called ahead. He then tried to get me to stay and called another barber to cut my hair instead of him. He walked outside while I was standing there confused. I sat down for about 30 seconds, ran the whole scenario through my head and got up and left. A few minutes later the other barber called me asking if I was still coming for the cut and asked what happened. I told him not to worry about it. If the policy is no late arrivals, that's totally fair, just make sure everyone working there is on the same page when customers call ahead. The whole interaction was unnecessarily dramatic.
