We thought awhile before posting this review but feel that it's important for people to know what…read morethey're getting into. We own a five-year-old LG refrigerator that is making a noise like a playing card in a bike spoke. The repair person, Kevin, immediately began telling us upon his arrival that our $4,300 refrigerator was 'nothing but junk.' He heard the sound, although it was quieter that day, and I also played two recordings of the sound for him. HE STATED A FEW TIMES that he had no idea what the problem would be. First red flag. He then told us that he DOESN'T WORK WITH REFRIGERANT and that he is not licensed to do so, in the event that the problem was refrigerant related. That was the next big red flag. He pulled out the frig and took off the top panel to listen further. He put a magnet in a couple places to turn off the interior lights to listen again. Then he began to scroll on his tablet TO LOOK UP ARTICLES ONLINE for what the problem might be. That was another red flag. He put the back panel back on, scrolled further, and then took the back panel back off and reset the refrigerator digitally. He replaced the back panel again and then told us to listen to see if the noise went away when we opened the freezer drawer. He wasn't in our home more than 15 minutes, had no idea what the problem was, and left us with the advice to just keep listening for the noise and TO CONSIDER BUYING ANOTHER REFRIGERATOR. He did no actual diagnostic work, didn't remove the lower back panel to get inside and listen closer, and had no advice for how to constructively proceed to reach a solution. HE THEN CHARGED US $97.50 FOR THE VISIT, a visit with no real expertise demonstrated on his part. To add to the problem, he scratched the handle of our black stainless-steel refrigerator, a scratch that is very visible. In full disclosure, we did not contact the company about the scratch because we know they will do nothing to compensate for it. We felt that he decided at the beginning when he saw our refrigerator was a high-end LG that he wasn't going to get involved with it. He should have just excused himself at that point and not charged us for the visit. Our advice would be to pass this company by, and if you decide to call them, ask for your repair person NOT to be Kevin.

Charlie and Justin we extremely knowledgeable. PAR, honored their commitment to customer…read moresatisfaction. I was not charged for a prior mis diagnosis. My refrigerator is up and running!!! Only company I could find that has quality highly knowledgeable guys that can actually work on and replace a compressor. Every other company told me to buy a new fridge. That would be $11,000! My fridge is a 48 inch built in KitchenAid. You can spend a pot load of money with others playing a guessing game. Skip that. Call Preferred Appliance Repair!!

Whirlpool needs to reconsider their account with this company. I have a 16-month-old whirlpool…read morewasher that stopped draining and threw several error codes. Contacted another company first since I wanted someone to come that same day if it was just a clog. The repairman for that company came out and said that my drain pump wire harness was broken and that the motherboard was dead. Wanted $875 to fix it. Called Whirlpool since it was still under warranty and they set us up with Preferred Appliance Repair. Bryan R came out 4 days later. We have a cheap washer that we keep in the basement that we had purchased when our LG washer went out, and we used while we saved up the money to purchase this piece of junk that was Consumer Digests #1 washer. We had the backup washer hooked up with the Whirpool washer in the hallway outside of the laundry room. Bryan immediately started giving me attitude that we should not have that there and that we need to carry the washer to the garage so that he can work on it there when he returns. He started huffing and puffing about having to work in a small area. He did push some buttons and got the error codes and then tilted the washer back to view the underside. The previous repairman had drained the washer, and our carpet had gotten wet. The washer sat on top of the wet carpet for a week, so it was still wet and didn't smell very good. I helped Bryan tilt the washer back while he got down on the wet carpet to look at it. He immediately started mumbling and got up and pushed the washer down and stated that he had to order parts to fix it and he didn't know how long it would be. I said that was fine, we have the backup washer for now. He reiterated that he needed the whirlpool washer moved to the garage before he came back to work on it. We heard from the company the next day that he would be there on 9/28 to fix it. My husband and son could not lift the whirlpool washer and were afraid that they would damage it even further by taking it to the garage and then having to carry it back up after it was repaired. They decided to take the backup washer downstairs instead since my washer was supposed to be repaired on 9/28. They were working on removing the hoses when Bryan showed up. He immediately made a sarcastic comment that the hose on the cold water wasn't put back on right. My son responded well we aren't plumbers we are just trying to get this washer out of the way for you. They lifted it up and my son cut his finger on a sharp piece of metal. They carried that washer to the basement and came back up to Bryan complaining that the last time he was there he had to lay in cat piss and wanted a blanket. My husband said Well we have beach towels that you can use. Mind you what he was calling cat piss was the wet carpet from the washer leaking dirty water. Not happy with that comment from him at all. He continues to work on the washer complaining that we have too many animals and that I do too much laundry. We are a family of 5 with both my husband and I working in healthcare and my daughter plays competitive softball practicing softball 4-6 times a week coming home dirty and sweaty. I had forgotten that he had made a comment about dog scratches on the front door when he first came to my house. It is none of his business to comment on my house or animals or how much I do laundry. He continually complained the entire time that he was there repeating he had to lay in cat piss and that he was tired of taking my washer apart and that he never wanted to come back to my house again. He finally discovered a huge blockage under the drum and removed that. He put the washer back together and pushed the buttons to go through a diagnostic session and walked out - leaving all of his trash and the used parts in my hallway. He was not even gone 15 minutes and here comes another error code and the washer will not run. My husband immediately called the company and was informed that he could not come back out that day because he was on a 3 hour job now. He had just left my house. Really? We were then told that he would be back on Wednesday afternoon. Tuesday we received a phone call that he now would be back on Friday because they had to order another part. My husband asked which part and was told the motherboard. He asked why that part was not ordered in the first place because we had the previous repairman's estimate that showed that on there. When my husband had showed that to Bryan he just made comments of well if he couldn't speak English very well he doesn't know what he is doing. Obviously he did and Bryan didn't. From the other comments on this page my guess is that my washer will not be fixed on Friday either, so this company needs to get a handle on their employees and perhaps take a seminar on what kind of behavior is acceptable to portray on a repair visit. Whirlpool - DO BETTER!!!!! This is the branch out of Southern Indiana - not California
