The Meatpacking Improvement Association (MPIA) in partnership with AT&T organized their very first Harvest Fest today at the Gansevoort Plaza. There was no admission fee..Who doesn't like free fun events. There was ton of stuff and activities for the kids and families from neighborhood businesses :

Haunted Hair from Bumble & bumble
Activities from The Whitney, LAB School and Hudson Guild
Pizza Making from Serafina

Face Painting from SEPHORA
We got there late (1/2 hour before they were closing down) so didn't really get a chance to enjoy all the activities..except for the pizza making, and craft for the kids..The chef from Serafina was doing a great job.In fact when we got there he had the last batch of kids working on their pizzas. That was the last batch of kids as they were closing in the next ten minutes, in spite of that he ran inside and got a piece of dough for my daughter to work on.Very patiently he taught her the entire process and let her do her own pizza. She was super excited and couldn't wait to eat her own pizza(although its her least favorite food) . She gobbled down the entire slice which was probably her first pizza till date..
There was face painting by Sephora and they were doing a brilliant job, of course..there was a big line waiting ahead of us and I steered my daughter towards other things. They had some great live music too..It seemed a great fun event and it was a real bummer that we didn't get a chance to experience the festival completely. This was their first year and hopefully the tradition will continue cause i definitely cant wait to go there again next year read more
