I have reviewed my email records with Soma, which I kept. I had consulted with the owner before booking a redo session, and was assured that the new recording would yield better results than the cheapest option I booked. For the first session, I had to request the vocal stems (dry vocals only) a day later as they were not ready the same day. Contrary to the post by Soma, if it were a budget issue on my end, I would not have re-booked at a higher price point at the same place. I was looking for usable vocals for my project, not just the cheapest option. I had to go to a different studio for the work. Professional enough, but not the place if you have never recorded and you are working vocals for a retro pop genre. Signed up for 2 different studios here (C & B, budget and mid-level) and in the end, neither output for the project was usable on a collaborative work. Texted (did not call) about what they could do to make it better. My suggestion would be a free mix and master on an outside project I have, if they read this, since there are no refunds.

Seriously though Third Story has dished out 30 years of recording excellence and has worked with some of the best. Aside from the Milkmen they have worked with King Britt, Tori Amos, Ruder Than You, Chuck Berry, and an endless list of others. Most recently they helped do mastering work for my friends Bloody Wall Of Gore, and Seizure 17. Both bands have stood by the work that Third Story did. they really do a good job of picking up on every nuance of a song and making the sound just right. They also work with both analog and digital recording. they have a fully automated Pro Tools, and two 24 track 2" analogue tape machines on hand in their studio. so they really offer the best of both worlds.

I'm a professional guitar player who was visiting Philadelphia from the west coast and decided to check out local music stores. The store was clean but beyond appearances this place was terrible. All the guitars I tried were dirty and out of tune; I told an employee that the truss rod needed to be adjusted on one and he didn't know what that was (a music store employee should know what that means). I couldn't hear myself try the guitar because the sole employee was signing and playing at the top of his lungs. I then asked him about how the teacher employment worked at their store and not only could he not answer, but he couldn't give me anyone's email or phone number to contact with questions.
