Overcharges everyone, strong arm tactics. Unethical, wanted to know if I was going to file with my insurance so he could hike the bill up to cheat them. Told me I needed to pay a certain amount to get my car back, then when I showed up to pick up the car, changed his mind and demanded the full amount or refused to release my car. Should have sued him for breach of verbal agreement or contract. Shop was ok back in the late 80's early 90's. Would stay away now!!! read more

This auto shop was referred to me. I took my vehicle in to get a diagnostic, due to some concerns that were not done correctly from a previous repair shop. I made an 8:00 am appt with Mack, the owner, I arrived at 7:50 am and parked in front. I see man moving cars and walking pass my car few times. He never acknowledged me. At 8:00 am I walked in and informed (the same man that had walked pass my car) Mack of my appointment for the diagnostic. He wanted to know the name of the previous repair shop (which was not necessary for him to do what I needed). I advised him I would prefer not to mention the name. He again asked me the name, appearing to be impatient with me. He stated he must see their invoices to see what repairs were done. I told him the previous shop's name and he then asked, where are they located? He claimed he didn't know of that shop. I'm still not sure why he was so adamant about knowing. I advised Mack I didn't have access to a printer and asked if he could print or I could fax the repair docs so he could see exactly what was supposedly done by the other shop. He said he didn't have either type of machine. He suggested I email the docs to his wife. I asked for her email and he said he didn't know it. He said, she will be in at 10:00 am and he will call me to email her the docs. He called me at 10:58 am left a voice mail. I called back 10min later and spoke with his wife. I informed her I had been waiting for a call back since 10 am. She asked me to text her the docs. I advised her I had several pages. She then asked me to email docs. I kindly informed her to disregard and I would immediately return to pick up my vehicle. I was so disappointed in me, because I didn't feel good about leaving my vehicle there with the type of interaction and conversation I had with Mack. Along with the NON- customer service of Mack and his wife, not up to date with communication, and the absolute lack of concern of gaining a new customer. The fact I wasted half the morning on my day off work to accomplish absolutely NOTHING at MP Auto, and spent $20 round trip for a Lyft. read more

I have been doing business with Mac the owner for over 25 years. He has never took advantage of me or overcharged me as some of the local dealers have. I have had all types of cars repaired there from Volvo-Lexus-Jags -Mercedes. This guy is masterful with them all. It is great to have a one stop shop from motor repairs to transmissions to ac he does it all and does it well . Pricing ain't bad either. Just as good of a technician as he is he is a better person. His demeanor his professionalism is great. It would be hard to find a better shop. read more

Wasted 4 days to have the mechanic telling me he had no tools to even complete an assessment as his tools were stolen. Mmmm...o should have been told that before leaving my car as tools were stolen apparently a month before :/ read more

The front and bottom of my car was completely messed up. Other shops had given me an estimate of at least $2000 to fix my car, so I was worried about these costs as well as paying for a rental. Mack fixed my car and made it safe for the roads again in just a few hours and on a very short notice. He was very knowledgeable and honest about the repairs, and didn't overcharge me. I have used a number of independent garages in the Bay Area and Mack at MP Auto is hands down the best. I bought an out of warranty BMW 5 series and was looking for an independent BMW mechanic. Mack came highly recommended from a friend and neighbor. I brought the car in for some early work and later took it to Momentum here the Clear Lake area for some recall work and software upgrades. $3k later after 3 days of diagnosis they tell me my Turbo is bad and needs replacing because the impeller is seized up for a cost north of $6,000.00. About choked on that and decided to see what Mack thought. Turns out the impeller works fine and the Turno was only missing a nut on a controller arm to the wastegate. $200.00 later and the turbo is working like it is supposed to and the car runs like it is supposed to,,,,plenty of power. Unconscionable of momentum BMW. I will always owe a debt of gratitude to Mack and he can rest assured he has my business until the day he retires. Mack is as honest as they come, a damn good wrench, will not upsell you and he is ridiculously reasonable on pricing. Thanks Mack. I have an old Range Rover Sport, which is breaking down frequently and costing me a lot of money to fix. Mac has been so honest, diligent, and helpful. He never wants to charge me unless he can properly diagnose and fix the car. I lost my job recently and he really has been doing his best to get me the best deal during my period of unemployment.
