Having a great time at the Moxi after the game
    Cherie C.

The Moxi is a great place for a fun short trip. We arrived for a football game upon arrive we each received 2 free drink coins. The staff was so relaxed and provided us with a book of all the surrounding restaurants and then gave suggestions. Our room was so interesting, I played with everything . I won't post this pic. I will let you be surprised, but trust me, the room followed the theme of the hotel. Right outside the elevator there was a hammock in the corner. Of course I had to try it out!!! Bu the cherry on the top was returning to the hotel to full our karaoke in the lobby. We didn't go to sleep until late party with the other guest and staff. We had a great time thank you the staff for an outstanding job!

This is a cute "modern" hotel. It has a lot of character. The staff was extremely friendly. The lobby bar was great. Each guest receives a free drink ticket. The gym is downstairs. It's small, but it had what we needed. Let's address the elephant in the room now. The rooms are small. I mean so small that they have pegs on the wall to hang your stuff instead of an actual closet or wardrobe. The rooms also lack the usual amenities like irons(they have a steamer), ironing board, water bottles, or ice buckets. I didn't even see an ice machine, but I could have just missed it. Parking us basically a paid lot across the street. Not the best. Overall, we enjoyed our stay well enough. If the price is right, we would come back. I just feel they put style over substance here.

I stay here every visit to MN, which is about 2x/ month. staff is great!! really appreciate Maggie bartending & Maya at the front desk, they make my stay feel more like home with friends! Justine is always a welcome face at the front desk as well! love it!!

Moxy is the "cool" Marriott, as imagined by a millennial who grew up in the suburbs and had a Gen X creative director running the project. Every room has a guitar and an amp. I'm not sure why. Rooms are tiny, but comfortable enough, with a Thoroughly Modern Bathroom with subway tile. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were a bit too smooshy for my taste (forgivable since I slept great). There are fun accents like ambient lighting underneath the bed that is motion activated so you don't bump into things in the middle of the night. Staff were great and there was even passable free coffee in the mornings. You are 25m from downtown via a few different bus routes or you can take the Lake Street bus to or from the light rail to the airport.

I was happy with this hotel. They were friendly, and I think the free drink ticket when you get in is a nice perk. Definitely more of a millennial / trendy vibe. Cost wasn't too bad, and I liked that I wasn't downtown right next to the conference I was attending, it gave me an escape which was really nice. The steamer in-room is also a nice touch. It did feel a bit small / cramped and I wish it had a real closet to hang stuff in, but those are minor gripes. Check it out !

What I'm about to say may sound like an insult, but it is absolutely not: This is a hip, locally-focused Millennial hotel at an amazing price. This is the EXACT type of hotel I want to stay in while traveling, on the rare occasions that I get a hotel instead camping on BLM land for free. Or, as a way to treat myself after sleeping on the ground for a week! This isn't a place most families or older couples would enjoy because: the rooms are small and it can be noisy. Check-in was a breeze and came with 2 free drink tokens, in the form of guitar picks. The drinks you could redeem these for weren't throwaway swill, they were all local brews and house-made cocktails. All of the art here was local, and much of it BLM(different BLM than the one I reference above)-focused, AWESOME! This would be at the top of my list, were I ever in Minneapolis again. We were impressed!

The inside of a Moxy has been updated with a cultural and local feel. I'm happy they've done this to embrace all the change that Uptown has gone through. I've been here on a few dj nights and you can get out and dance! The times I've been here it hasn't been overly busy, but that means better service at the bar for you?? They get a melting pot of people in here and it's a good time.

Guitar and crappy Ikea like chair in room.

This hotel is all about location location location. Not friendly for longer stays. Small room, no coffee in room, hooks not hangers, NO FREE PARKING, ice machine ???. Guitar in the room - can't image how much that ' incidental ' will cost. Maybe I am just old and don't care / understand the decor. The staff was outstanding. Drinks were expensive - but this is expected due to the area and Marriott hotel brand.

We came to the moxy bar for a free Valentine's Day event and it was super fun! A lot smaller than I expected but we got free drinks, snacks, and professional photos so I'm happy :)

Best lobby I've been in this year!

The Moxy brand of hotels is quickly becoming one of my favorite brands to stay with as I travel for work. The newly opened Moxy in Uptown Minneapolis is great! Friendly staff that greet you with a complimentary signature cocktail as you check-in. The lobby is young, hip and so well designed! Same goes for the rooms! Plus it is locales just seconds away from great restaurants and bars. Definitely staying there every time I am in Minneapolis!

    Nifty small space living

Really enjoyed the vibe of the Moxy. The rooms are small as expected with this style hotel (it is all about location). I was inspired how they incorporated cool small space living ideas. Our bed floor frame even lights up if you set foot in the dark for a night bathroom run. Loved the white subway tile bathroom and decor (retro phone and guitar) in the room too. The pillows and bed were very comfortable! I was obsessed cuddling the pillows. I want to know who makes them. The main floor and bar super swanky place to chill with a cocktail. Moxy hotels never disappoint. Full of surprise and delight exploration.

I've been to the Moxy a handful of times, mostly for the non-hotel-y things... like cocktails and dancing. Surprise - this hotel is a fun "girls night out" destination! The bar here is solid and is attached to a trendy lounge with collages of Kate Moss and Jimi Hendrix's faces in them. I love how in the summer, they open up the bar so you can belly up right from the sidewalk. The bartenders have been great with each visit too! Moxy hosts a lot of events like themed music/dance nights and special DJs. I've come here expecting to grab a few drinks with my girlfriends, but ended up dancing my ass off for hours. S/O to DJ Nak & Neekasodope for orchestrating my monthly workout! I've also stayed at the hotel overnight (I won a giveaway!) and the hotel rooms were photo-ready. Tall ceilings, clean design, a guitar and amp... pretty sweet. Mine needed a little bathroom clean, though. And the breakfast flatbread I bought the next morn had a superrrr undercooked egg on it. Otherwise, I loved my stay!

Fun at the bar with new friends

Late night check in at Moxy Uptown and they know how to take care of a weary traveller. We got in on a 1am Southwest flight and arrived here via a kind Lyft, and Nic and Aaron took really good care of us upon arrival (Nic happened to be coming in and was off the clock but still made sure we got what we needed!). I already know this is gonna be a wonderful experience - any place where the guest registration is at the bar only gets better - and I'll update my review accordingly!

There are very few photos of the rooms. Do any of the rooms come with even a small desk where one can use a laptop?

Yes, there's a pull down desk from the wall, or you can take down a small round table off the pegs and unfold it to use.

Not worth the hype…read more Was genuinely excited to stay at the W Minneapolis from Dec 19-22, but unfortunately the experience ended up feeling underwhelming, and stressful. Cost. The W is expensive, which shouldn't surprise anyone. Nightly rates hover around $200+ per night. Valet parking is $60 per night; objectively overpriced, though undeniably convenient. Additional fees: Pet owners, expect a $100 flat fee plus $25 per night, which adds up quickly. Where things start to fall apart is navigation and access to information. The hotel is surprisingly confusing to get around, and there's virtually no wayfinding or signage. In fully embracing the digital-only approach, the hotel has eliminated all traditional paper materials. No map. No room book. No quick-reference guide. Everything lives digitally. That sounds modern--until you need basic information like restaurant hours. eg). I attempted to visit the bar on floor 27 at around 330 pm. (It doesn't open until 5pm) However none of this is clearly displayed, and SUPER difficult to find without messaging the front desk and the Marriott app was hit-or-miss at best during my stay. The digital key never worked once, and even the room phone didn't function. That wouldn't be a huge issue if the app worked reliably--but it didn't. I did message the front desk through the app to request a USB-C charging cable and was told none were available. In 2025. At a W. That felt less like sleek minimalism and more like missed fundamentals. Food/ Room Service: Absolutely excellent. Manny's Steakhouse and the Prohibition Bar are both fantastic and independently operated in partnership with the hotel. See Manny's Steakhouse for a full review, it alone was a highlight of the stay. The room itself was very spacious, but it's important to remember this is an old building, and it shows. I struggled to maintain a consistent water temperature the entire stay. The room layout was also frustrating: the TV is mounted far from the bed, on a wall shared with neighboring rooms. Turning up the volume even slightly resulted in a noise complaint from next door. Yep, that actually happened. Overall, the W Minneapolis has style, history, and good food...but the experience feels more focused on image than guest usability. With better wayfinding, reliable tech, and basic in-room information, this could be a great stay. As it stands, it didn't live up to the hype
