I have never stayed in a Moxy but on this week I stayed in two in Minneapolis and Madison for several days. As a business traveler, I don't think I will be staying in Moxy Hotels in the future. If you are looking for a place to have a weekend getaway, wedding party, a retreat for hipsters, Moxy hotels are a good option. The rooms are very basic and small. The bathroom and shower are very good. I like the vinyl flooring much better than carpet. As far as business , the loud music in the lobby makes it clunky to have a zoom call. I had to leave the hotel to do that. The rooms were not conducive for zoom as they are pretty small and the bed will always be in the image. The rooms are nice and more about that below. For a business traveler lobby coffee is super important.... In both Moxy hotels coffee was bad, really acidic with bad flavor. The "service" was also poor with the only mix in plastic containers of "cream" like you would get at a gas station. IMO in this category, Hilton wins with their more authentic "hip hotels", quiet lobby and better coffee. Hilton's strategy was to convert older properties back to their glory with a modern touch. With that said, after 20 years of being Hilton diamond, I am moving back to Marriott (again) for routine stays due to their Marriott's better rewards program. What is interesting is this category was started by, W (aloft), now owned by Marriott. Not sure why Marriott didn't just stick with the W or update aloft brand. Because Moxy is contrived, the decorating is like something I would've done in high school with album covers on the wall and fake graffiti chairs. I don't think this will age well. read more

Moxy is Marriott's "budget but hip" experiment. From the second you walk in, you know this isn't a typical hotel: check-in happens at the bar, your room key comes with two drink tickets, and the lobby feels like a mix of a college dorm lounge and a cocktail bar--loud, lively, and designed for hanging out. The rooms are... minimal. Concrete walls, folding table, no frills. Honestly, it feels like IKEA's take on a prison cell. Don't expect luxury--this is bare-bones on purpose. Amenities keep that theme going: a communal ironing board, one microwave for everyone, and free morning coffee that might be the worst cup you'll ever drink. Parking isn't included either--it's $35 a night in the attached lot. That said, Moxy is fun. It's great for a quick stay, especially if you're traveling solo and don't mind hostel vibes wrapped in Marriott branding. Think CitizenM, but on a tighter budget. read more

Cheaply built hotel; poor service. I stayed here 2 nights in September `24. At approximately 3:00 AM, I was abruptly woken by a severe itching sensation on my legs. To my horror, I discovered that ants were crawling all over me. When I turned on the lights, I was shocked to find that there were thousands of ants swarming the room, following a trail from the window and extending into the bathroom. In a state of distress, I went down to the reception, where I was offered a choice between two rooms adjacent to my existing one. While I appreciated the prompt response, I moved into the new room around 3:30 AM, but due to the proximity to the original infested room, I remained on edge, unable to sleep, paranoid that there were still ants on my body. Additionally, I was informed that the receptionist and security staff would inspect my previous room. However, for the next hour, I was further disturbed by the sound of doors banging as people went in and out of the room, which only compounded the disruption to my sleep. I attached a photo to show the ant train. imagine this crawling over your legs when you sleep! I understand that we share our environment with various creatures, but there is a reason I chose to stay on the third floor of a reputable hotel rather than camping in the local forest. I did not expect to be woken up and distressed in such a manner, and the impact on my stay was significant. The staff sent an email when I wrote to let them know, but it wasn't sufficient to address basically no sleep for the night I paid for and the hot disaster of an on-site meeting the next day. read more

We traveled to Minneapolis for the first time and stayed at the Moxy hotel in downtown Minneapolis Minnesota "doncha know" (but unfortunately we didn't get to hear anyone say that to us lol). On the surface it seems like a bougie hotel, but I consider it to be more like mid tier. I see a lot of people leaving it bad reviews because of the few cons that it has. But let me start out with the pros so you can get an idea why it's a super awesome hotel before I start going into the cons. 1: it was one of the cheapest chain hotels from Hilton to Marriott to Hyatt that were located anywhere near the main hustle and bustle of the city. 2: I was flabbergasted at the beautiful artistry and design that went into every aspect of the property. Mostly in chain hotels you don't see so much detail in every single piece of the design element. But I can tell a professional designer was at work in the lobby / bar / hallways and inside the room. Somehow they found a way to make bougie on a budget really happen and add true character to the place. 3: they made efficient use of the space you had. It seemed like an English or New York hotel, everything had its place, it was compact but it did the job. 4: the bathroom was stunning, the rainfall shower head, picture window, huge floor to ceiling glass shower wall, and tile throughout the entire bathroom really added bougie. They did save money on a few fixtures, but where it really mattered they went the distance to make you enjoy the feeling of spending time in the room. 5: on checkin they acknowledged my titanium status and offered me a 4pm checkout without even me asking! So awesome, I prefer that rather than dueling it out and begging to get what my status allows. Okay so the cons are in my opinion only worth deducting 1 star, mostly because of the price of this hotel being affordable compared to the classiness you're getting in return. The cons were: 1: they don't even have a true front desk, the bartender is your front desk agent, no joke, took me a moment to realize it. But honestly I get it; they weren't charging that much and the place looked amazing. 2: the room was small, yes it was. It didn't bother me but I can see why maybe it would to some people. It needed like maybe an extra 75 square feet of space at least. 3: they didn't have any essentials there nor did they leave a note in the room letting you know you could request those things. This was kind of the last straw for me, I had to take one star out for this one. Having an iron and ironing board are super essential and almost every hotel even motel rooms have it. They also didn't have a mini fridge or microwave, that I understand and I've seen that before. I simply asked for everything that was missing and they brought it up. Overall this hotel is fine. We booked through AirBNB and check-in was standard. The listing said free street parking but the desk advised us to use a paid lot because street parking is scarce. Not a total lie on the listing, but we ended up paying $18 a day. Our room was tiny. Yes it's a modern hotel and with that sometimes comes smaller spaces. No space for luggage, we didn't have drawers for our stuff, just like 50 hooks. No closet. Bathroom was pretty small. The pros would be proximity to restaurants and bars, the AC unit worked great, the blinds worked, comfy bed, plus the hotel bar was cute and with check-in we got tickets for two free drinks. The gym was nice with working machines. One more downside was that it was LOUD. Lots of late night hubbub both in the hotel and outside. Yelling, cars honking, car alarms. I know I'm getting old but geez! What are you doing at 2am lol Overall I'm okay with the experience, and if the price was right I'd likely stay again. read more

We were coming in for a family wedding, and at check in, we were booked under my MIL's credit card and they still tried to charge us $35 for parking, even though she was paying for it. Your keycard can only go to your floor--so it's annoying when you have friends or family staying on other floors. We stayed in a room with a regular-sized bed for myself and my husband and a lofted bed for our young daughter, and we brought a few different chargers for our iphones, one only having a plug and the other that had a usb port. None of the outlets would work with my charger, the other one we were able to get the usb port into the wall, and my daughter's Switch charger only worked on one of the outlets in the room! Air conditioner clanks on very loudly and I finally had to shut it off because I couldn't sleep. There was only free coffee in the morning, and a really pathetic breakfast that you had to pay for ($4 for a small bowl of cereal). There was no ice machine on the floor--you had to go to the check-in station at the bar in the lobby for ice. Luckily, there is a Trader Joe's across the street where you can load up on goodies and snacks and there are plenty of places to eat close by. Also close to a nice park. UPDATING THIS REVIEW: My MIL said she paid for our room, but they asked my husband to leave a review and pay $35 for parking. MIL said she ironed it out and that she'd take care of parking and the room, but we got home to Chicago to discover that they charged his card over $500! Shitty hotel and liars to boot! read more

Didn't know this was a part of the Marriott chain. Certainly doesn't feel that way when you walk into your room. Most Marriott places have the same layout IMO; this was different in design and structure and was a pleasant surprise. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom invites you to spruce yourself up before heading out. My room didn't have drawers or closets which I found odd. Hooks are on the wall to hang garments/accessories. Only here for 1 night so not too bothered but could be an issue for others. Perks include a hotel bar (complimentary moxy cocktail when you check in), game area, lounge, and being close to the US Bank stadium & metro transit. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Doesn't surprise me with Minneapolis: big city feel with small town attitude. Wouldn't mind staying here again! read more

I had never stayed at a Moxy before and tbh I had absolutely no idea Moxy was a "budget" line - I thought it was higher end because the only Moxy I've been to is the Moxy in New York with its glamorous rooftop and fancy seafood restaurant so anyways - my expectations here were off and I was shocked when the room was pretty tiny. With that said, holy crap I've never seen a tiny room be more efficient and make the most out of a space. SO efficient, this chain must be European. There's knobs to hang stuff covering the entire wall which is incredible for bags and clothes and purses etc. We had a loft with a bunk bed that gives you a second bed in a tiny space. The bathroom had everything we needed, including a steamer - so clutch. I would absolutely stay here again, and considering we didn't spend that much time in the room, the size was really whatever. The service was friendly as well, but keep in mind the front desk/bar is very very understaffed - and this is probably the sole reason I knocked this down from a 5 to a 4. I understand it's a budget hotel, and that there are labor shortages right now, but the bartender and front desk person are the same person, and every time I called I got zero response. This went for when I called before arriving to ask questions, and also when we called down to ask for more towels. You end up just having to go downstairs if you need something - which isn't great if you're not there yet and can't be in person to ask a question. Anyways, that's my feedback, but aside from that, it's a great, efficient hotel in a good location that I'd totally stay at again (or try the Uptown location next time). read more

Cute bar with lots of lounge spaces and some games. They had giant Jenga and connect four available and set up on some tables.. We were in on a Friday night and it was pretty dead. It did sound like there was an event going on upstairs though. Despite appearing not very busy they ran out of martini glasses. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but we had a fun time in a not so crowded bar. It was easy to chat with friends since there wasn't much noise and no lines at the bar so quick to get drinks. Asked for his or her BC and oh I'll get it.....his shift was done and bailed out of here. I call Marriott central reservations and lodged a complaint and was somewhat helpful.....but basically said the management group that represents the brand can do what they want.....this totally contradicts the Marriott Bonvoy program and there are plenty of upgrades available. I travel allot and have always been upgraded......this hotel and management group......you could do better elsewhere. Certainly not the typical Marriott Bonvoy Program!! read more

Very small rooms. Feels cold with the interior decor in the rooms. Doesn't feel very welcoming or comfortable in the rooms. Wouldn't come back or recommend as pricing is high for such a tiny room and setting. Bar was empty last night and closed around 11pm. We did get two free drinks for booking a room at the hotel. What we experienced the night of a Christ Stapleton concert didn't even meet basic needs. For the price of $470 to share one bed, we were pretty shocked at how awful the experience was and thought I would share our experience, so that perhaps you can make a better plan than we did. For people who have never been to the area, there is a lot of confusion and lack of basic needs being met for any night that has an event at US Bank Stadium. THEY PRICE GOUGE HERE TO AN UNETHICAL DEGREE and offer below average service. If you're looking to book this hotel for an event at US BANK STADIUM, I recommend going to a lux hotel where you'll be taken care of properly and then ubering to the stadium for the same price. You'll be glad you did! 1) Upon arrival, we had NO CLEAR IDEA WHERE TO UNLOAD and check in. Because we had no information about a loading zone from any hotel staff member or signage, we had to drive up to the second floor of the garage and WALK ALL THE WAY DOWN THE GARAGE RAMP WITH OUR LUGGAGE UNCERTAIN WHERE TO GO. On a concert night, there should be hotel staff coordinating that at check in time, or at the very least, there should be signage that is easily visible, indicating where an unloading zone is in the garage during a check in window of time.  2) Upon entering the building, there again was NO STAFF AT ENTRANCES except for behind the bar. If you're coming in for the first time, it is extremely difficult to navigate a loud crowded lobby with a drink line from the bar to the main entrance door. There should be staff at the doors helping people check in during check in time for a night such as this, so they know where to go.  3)HOSPITALITY & CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON EXISTENT from all staff. Upon finally making it to the bar counter with our bags, we let the staff know of the issue with parking. No one seemed to care. Same as the other two interactions we had. We left the concert early and needed more water later that night. The woman at the bar said we already got our two waters at check in, so we'd have to pay for water. What???? NO WATER out for guests the night of a big show? We said no thanks. We're not paying for a basic need like water, when we paid almost $500 to stay one night. She didn't try to make it right or even bother to offer a glass of water. Again- didn't seem to care. Upon check out, same thing. We gave feedback to the young woman, and she didn't even apologize or seem to care. Just stared at us. No professionalism. No hospitality or customer service sense. It was extremely odd.  4) The AMENITIES ARE LACKING big time. I can see that if you're paying $130 for a night, there won't be amenities. But if you're going to price gouge rooms on a concert night, at least provide ample water, a separate line to order a drink for hotel guests, and extra staff to assist. It was a sh** show there that night. I honestly can't find a better word to describe the way it was the day we arrived. There needs to be much better crowd control and assistance to hotel guests that are paying luxury hotel prices on concert or event night. 5) While the ROOMS were very cool, the quality was still below average. No water in the fridge. No ice machines nearby. No coffee or tea anywhere. No garbage can in the sleeping room. No garbage bag in the trash can in the bathroom. No lotion. No extras. Worst of all, the fan was incredibly loud, as if the furnace was above our heads. So pack ear plugs! Aside from the cool design, it was all extremely below average. So I think it 's fair to say that to increase the price from $130 to $470 is pretty unethical.  6) PRICE GOUGING, of the rooms and at the bar. I can't say enough how important it is to take care of high paying hotel guests and show hospitality (that's the main job of a hotel right)? We weren't even offered an alcoholic drink upon arrival, which is advertised. We couldn't even order a drink at cost as a high paying guest at the bar, because the line was at the door, and you offered no separate line for hotel guests, or had a second bar open. Why not open a bar on the second floor??? You're collecting 300% more that night from all the guests. We weren't offered extra bottles of water to compensate for the lack of complimentary alcoholic beverages being offered. We drove 5 hours and couldn't even get in vacation mode because of how poorly managed your hotel was. Our friends said that by the end of the night your beers went up in price. There's a difference between higher prices due to demand and unethical price gouging. I encourage your upper management to learn the difference. Please reflect on what hospitality is and whether or not you're being ethical on event nights. read more

Terrible representation of the Marriott brand of hotels. I booked a "City View" room (more $$$) several months ago. When I checked in, I got a room that faces a brick wall (literally- Room 326). When I asked at the front desk they said it's "first come first serve" and she could not have been more curt about it. When I explained I have status with Marriott as a Titanium member (I stay there a lot) she literally said "I don't care, Im busy checking other people in". I know it's hard to find good help these days, but this person is the face of your hotel? Really bad here Moxy. Worst I've ever seen or heard in 30 years of business travel. read more

First stay at a Moxy and pray never to see one again. The big draw seems to be the bar and edgy lobby (basically the bar). Check in was even at the bar. The rooms were clean, but no closet, dressers, refrigerator, coffee pot, ice nowhere to be found; bathroom sink and shower were cheap and even the toilet seat was square. Surprise first night was $100+ more than they told us, nights 2 and 3 were in line. Then having $35 for parking your own vehicle seems quite excessive. Also, smallest coffee cups possible and breakfast items were minimal. read more

My husband and I stayed at the Moxy for three nights. I am writing this review as a cautionary tale for anyone who wishes to have a drawer for their clothes, a closet, an ironing board and iron, a desk for your laptop or makeup mirror, a shower that is fully enclosed, counter space, washcloths (this could have been an oversight), or to remain asleep when another goes into the bathroom during the night. Upon arrival I knew we were in the wrong place when we checked in at the bar. There is no front desk. Next, we entered our room to find our bed at slightly above floor level. There was a large TV on the wall with all the channels, which was great. The room was very clean. The amenities ended there. Since we were traveling for an event and needed several changes of clothes, I was very disappointed that unpacking our suitcases was impossible, unless we laid our clothes on the floor since there was not a single drawer. There was no closet, but they did have large pegs hanging on the wall for our clothes. One could describe the furnishings as minimal, but that sounds "hip" which the room was not. It was simply unaccommodating. Perhaps my husband and I are just too old, and do not want to leave the room for a cup of coffee in the morning, but not having a coffee pot, microwave, small refrigerator or even ice available on our floor was ridiculous. After assessing the lack of convenience, I found a very small round table hanging on one of the pegs, not kidding here. When opened it was too small to handle a makeup mirror and makeup. A laptop might fit on it, but doubtful. I figure since tables, a desktop, drawers and a closet were not available that the bathroom would have lots of storage. Wrong again. The single sink had very little counter space on either side, and again no drawers. The bulk of the bathroom was a large shower, which was great, EXCEPT, it only had a partial closing with the large shower head in the middle meaning water splashed on the floor outside of the shower. Be careful! In addition to this "swank" shower there is a frosted window in the shower that looks into the bedroom onto the bed. While it is definitely private when you go into the bathroom, all the bright lights automatically come on and shine through the window into the eyes of anyone who is in the bed. Yikes, poor planning. Just when we thought it could not be any less accommodating, we had to go to the lobby/bar to retrieve coffee or tea, which is free, but the selection of breakfast food was lousy. No fresh anything; everything was bought in bulk and prewrapped and overpriced. They are understaffed in the mornings, so the available tables were dirty, and no one was on staff to clean them. So, the caution in this cautionary tale is enjoy the large bar, which has doors that opens the wall into the street and is swanky at night. The fresh air was wonderful. However, you might be smarter to party there and walk across the street to sleep in a hotel that treats you like a weary traveler with domestic needs, rather than a partier that needs to place to crash after too much booze. read more

Moxy is where youth and dreams go to die. You can just walk by and smell dry ice and sadness. gentleman's club with no dancers vibes. Sweet, sweet sadness and neon... and a DJ! A couple of the bartenders have been ok there but then there's the ones who seem like they're riding the white line Highway straight to Annoyance, USA. One wouldn't stop babbling about how it's their birthday, because it's their birthday! Birthday! -- As an obvious gratuity enhancing ploy, meanwhile exhibiting every textbook symptom of covid. Other hyped up hospitalitrons talking nonstop AT you even when you indicate you're on a important phone call. And then the time I got a full on mature housefly in my drink in a glass that was coated in unknown film. They replaced it but let me tell you, dear droogs and devotchkas, I was bent over with dry heaves shortly after. Coincidence? Possibly. It's also that time of the month. Uptown sure is not what it used to be and along with the condo sprawl, Moxy is a pretty good emblem of that sad reality. I mean whatever it's fine. Go see for yourself read more

Unique upcoming style hotel, hello twenty something era. First, it's a downtown hotel, thus, anticipate to have to pay more for some reason... Let that be. Having to pay to park at the high rate of what the room rate is I cannot get over. Check in: yes, the check in is at the bar of the hotel. A flashing check in sign, you cannot miss it. Yes, they have all you'd like Skittles and Fish crackers. They did offer first free bar drink which turned out to be on tap wine or beer. Room: The room, ridiculously simplistic. No coffee maker, no breakfast at any account aside from grab n go, but no coffee. No iron, yes people still need those for business or professional attire instead offered a steam machine, yeah that did not work as well as the needed press on the pants from travel. Yes, unique with just a bed, end table and bathroom, suited my need but not having a seemingly finished ceiling, it felt half finished. The one chair offers in the room reminded me of one from 1950. And you want how much for this small room for one night? No hotel hot tub or pool to chill in. They do offer comfy couch infront a fake fire place near check in, so if you'd prefer your time of relaxing get away before the business trip, don't bother here you'll have a bit of a challenge achieving that goal. Yes, the bar beverages and snacks are good and service is excellent. Just the concept of this design of a hotel has me rasing an eyebrow of why the sam h did I agree to stay here? So why not share my prospective with you. Yes, it is a block or two walking distance to the stadium for a Vikings game. I would give a solid 4 if I'd be offered coffee in room or downstairs..but no where is that not offered if it is there's additional cost. I'd give a 5 if they'd have the coffee offering as mentioned above and offer a finished room regarding the ceiling, an iron and ironing board, and space to relax within my own room. read more

Today by chance I became a patron of the Moxy Downtown. When you walk in on the first floor you will see a bar to one side and sitting area to the other. You actually check in at the bar area. Your rooms have the feel of a Seattle loft. They are very well decorated. As I checked in, I was provided a cocktail. They called it the Moxy. Check in was simple, and the staff was amazingly friendly. I decided to come back down to the bar where I was served by Elliot. He made a great old fashioned, and also a pork & onion NAAN (flatbread). Damn... that was a tender and savory treat. Their pricing was decent for being at a downtown hotel. $12 old fashioned premium with michters rye. This place is what I would classify as a craft hotel. I believe this is their first week of being open. I don't leave very many of them, but this place is definitely 4 stars for me. Clean room in case you need it to be said. It's kind of minimalist style. Table and a chair hangs on the wall. There is no furniture really outside of the bed and nightstand. read more

I had never heard of Moxy Hotel so I just assumed it was like any other place. I WAS WRONG! This place was wonderful. The staff is relaxed, and the place smelled really good! This is an edgy, very chill kind of place. The theme is very minimalistic and eye appealing. From what I was told, this chain originated from Europe. My flight was delayed so I checked in VERY late. I called to let them know around what time I was coming and the way they answered the phone made me believe that I called the wrong number. They answer with "Hey, what's up?". I was definitely thrown off by that. Either way, I dig it. The rooms were small but still large enough for me to not feel too cramped up. I really liked the fold away table that I can hang when not in use. I was missing a closet, minifridge, and microwave but it wasn't a big deal. The shower was great, it had really good water pressure and the handheld was a plus. The shampoo made my hair smell wonderful and made it super soft. The hallway had a little nook where you could find the iron and ironing board, and a water bottle fill station. I stayed here for 5 nights and was very pleased with my stay. I enjoyed working in the lobby and in the provided work area on the second floor. By the time I remembered to take pictures, I was on my way to check out so they only catch a glimpse of what it's really like. They have complimentary coffee at the bar and typical board games that you would find in any hang-out coffee house. The pictures attached don't do it justice!! As I mentioned before, the staff are chill and very friendly. I was there for a week and they honestly made me feel at home; they remembered my name, asked how my day was even if it was at passing. Building these relationships with the guests really enhances the atmosphere and makes you feel good that you're there. I would recommend anyone to stay here. You won't regret it. Never stayed with this hotel chain before actually hadn't even heard of them. They were conveniently close and centrally lovated to the football stadium, farmers market and train station. They have the best reception area and the place is exceptionally decorated. The theme works the city, it's amazing and so fun. So many wonderful moments within the area. Games downstairs, free skittles, warm fireplace. There's a suited moose, foosball table and a quick market. The wallpaper was on point. The room was clean and had fun stuff inside. read more

I knew I'd like this place the moment I entered and the check in was at the bar. The whole vibe was hip meets mountain cabin. All very cool. Room was small but the fact that they didn't take up floor space with dressers and desks more than compensated. If I needed to put my clothes somewhere there were pegs along the wall. If I needed somewhere to type an email, a folding table and chair were hanging on the pegs. Bathroom was very stylish and the room overall very quiet considering it was downtown and near the light rail. Staff was super friendly as well. read more

Moxy is a no frills hotel, but it is perfectly acceptable. I chose this location because of the parking which was even more convenient than anticipated. I literally parked right next to the hotel entrance. While checking into your room at bar is a bit quirky, it is no less efficient. Staff are wonderful and accommodating. The property is pet friendly so you'll not find carpeting in the rooms. I love this as it is feels so clean. Pets are also welcome in the bar which is fun. My only complaint is that it was difficult to get my room warm enough, particularly given that bedding is limited to one very thin blanket. I get that bedspreads are not used due to the animal friendly nature of the property (those spreads that do not get laundered after each guest are disgusting anyway), but there is definitely room for improvement. The rooms have no coffee makers, but complimentary coffee is offered in the bar. If you just need a nice clean place to sleep, sans room service, clock radios, and coffee makers, Moxy fits the bill. read more

I want to start off by stating that this is the first review I have ever written but felt it was important to shed some light on this property. I was excited to finally stay at a Moxy hotel since Marriott had add them to their collection. It is with great disappointment that I have to say I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone! The stay at the hotel was enjoyable and the staff was helpful throughout the stay. Our experience after our stay has been the worst experience I have ever experienced in the 9 years as a Platinum member staying at hundreds of Marriott properties and quite frankly any other hotel I have stayed at. To start off I mistakenly forgot an item at the hotel and I reached out to the hotel to see if this item was found. Thankfully my item was located and I was told that they would send it back to me for NO charge. I was quite appreciative of this and made sure to let the staff know this as well. The next day I followed up to see if my item was sent yet and I was informed that I would need to pay to have this sent to me. I have never heard of this before in my 9 years of Platinum membership with any Marriott property. I was ok with having to pay this to get my item back to me. But what happened next coupled with being told two different things is not acceptable. I was directed to fill out a form to describe my item even though the day before I was told it was found. So I filled out there form and did not hear back for several days. Since I did not hear back I followed up with the hotel and then sure enough within the hour my item was ''found'' again. I again asked for clarification of why I need to pay to have this item sent to me as I have not heard of this before at any Marriott property. I have also talked to other Bonvoy members and they were as confused as I am. I spoke with the General Manager of the property as well as an Associate who was quite rude and did not seem to show any compassion or understanding of my situation and was told I need to still pay for this. I find this absolutely absurd that for such a small amount the Moxy would not help me out and offer to pay to send it back to me given the long delay and confusion of locating my item, me having to reach out again about the status of my item as well as my Platinum status. I was at a lost for this awful service I had received so I called and talked with a Platinum Marriott associate. This associate who is in customer service informed me that Moxy hotels are notorious for terrible customer service and member experiences. My recommendation is to stay far far away from this hotel especially if you accidentally forgot something and have to go through all the loops I had to retrieve my item which should have been easily resolved. I am very disappointed and believe Marriott would except more from one of their brands to treat a member like this. I wish I did not have to resort to writing a review but felt it was important for people to know about the level of service you can expect to receive especially after your stay. read more

Moxy had a really cool vibe and convenient location, but our experience was greatly disappointing. The staff was pleasant but were untrained and ineffective. The "scaled down room was difficult to navigate as there was no furniture nor closets and our suitcases would not fit under the bed. Other guest were loud into the early morning and safety alarm went off for over a half hour. As a Marriott member I was greatly disappointed. read more

I agree with many of the comments about the unfriendly and unhelpful lack of good, basic customer interactions. No welcomes, no smiles, one word responses to questions. Marriott would do well by proving a course in customer service. We never felt welcome even though we spent over four nights there. Although marketed as a fun place it was anything but. The room service staff was the exception . They were kind and pleasant. Maybe they should be working the "front desk". Doubtful I will return to this establishment. My hard earned money will go to another establishment that knows how to treat people with kindness and a modicum of respect. The room was fine, nothing special. Kinda bare-boned and the bathroom sink is ridiculous. So narrow you can't wash your face without water getting everywhere - including the floor. And almost zero counter space. And one bistro size table in the room is barely helpful. read more

Witnessed who I'm assuming was the manager yell at his staff last night for no reason in front of a full bar. Left multiple employees crying. He was clearly on some type of power trip, wouldn't let his employees get a word in. Speaking to employees that way in private is abusive enough but embarrassing them in front of over 100 people is unacceptable. He made them stop serving almost 2 hours early costing the bar and the bartenders a lot of money. Everyone was looking around and wondering if that actually happened. The bartenders seemingly did nothing wrong, he seemed completely deranged. Dude was a tyrant. As someone who has worked in the service industry their whole life, I would've quit on the spot if I was spoken to like that, especially in front of guests. Working in the service industry is hard and necessary work, and managers like that are the reason why so many people are leaving it. We left immediately because the vibe was so hostile. Love to the awesome bartenders that stayed and kept working to make sure the bar got cleaned up. Moral of the story, people don't quit their jobs, they quit their managers. read more

I recently checked in 8/9 and i arrived very early and the guy who checked me in (Louie) was very nice was able to get me in my room was very engaged in my conversation and gave me lots of recommendations for things to do during my stay! The service was great with each team member i met, the rooms were clean, good location parking was easy food and drinks good and priced great!! the reason I have 4 and not 5 stars is just no closet or dresser to place my garments, yes they have hooks on the wall however my visit was already hectic so coming to a room that looked like my linens were everywhere is not a place i want to relax i mean i was in for 2 days so i'm happy i didn't have a tone of things. I plan on re-booking if i am doing a short stay! read more
