I used to use a landscaping company that charged a monthly fee to shovel my walk. Many of my neighbors were doing the same, so from what I understood this was kind of the only arrangement that these companies offered. However, when it didn't snow much in a month (or in an entire winter, el nino anyone?), we were stuck still paying the full amount and left feeling a little ripped off.
From what I've seen, MowSnowPros is one of the only companies in Calgary that offers "per removal" snow shovelling. This means that I only pay a set amount each time it snows and they clear the walk. I'm only paying for what I'm actually getting... which makes a lot more sense compared to a set monthly contract fee that you pay no matter what happens.
A couple of my neighbors shovel their own walk but need someone to do it while they're away on vacation. I recommended MowSnowPros to them as the pricing model is perfect for this scenario: they only pay for the snow removals during the time they're gone!
Further, this is the only snow removal company in Calgary that I've discovered that will be developing an app so that I can request to have my walk shovelled when I actually want it done. Sometimes it snows just a little skiff and I can manage on my own, however when there's a big dump (as we often see in Calgary), MowSnowPros provides an easy way to request their nearest contractor to come clear my walk. This ensures that my walk is shovelled as quickly as possible. Once their app is launched I can see it saving me further money as I will only request a MowSnowPro when I really need them (e.g. it's too cold out or I'm feeling extra lazy).
For now, a MowSnowPro just shows up to clear my walk whenever it stops snowing and I've always been more than satisfied with the job done. Highly recommended! read more
