    Mabey's handled our move from upstate NY to California. Everything went perfectly at the move out…read morepart of the process and the office staff were wonderful to work with. We had to leave our stuff in storage in NYS for 8 months due to Covid restrictions and Mabey's made this easy to do. Pricing for our move was quite reasonable. Helpful hint: The packing crew should absolutely number each box with a sharpie and record how many boxes in total are being shipped. We have the unsettling feeling at least one box got left behind in NYS. So 4 stars not 5.

    Horrible experience. Before my move in 2021, the Maybe's Movers assured me they had never had…read moreproblems with damaged furniture and talked me out of adding extra insurance coverage. That turned out to be a huge mistake. The movers arrived and didn't speak to me or even made eye contact. When my furniture was delivered, I was shocked by the amount of damage. Several pieces of solid cherry furniture had dents, scratches, and gouges, and it appeared that little or nothing had been properly secured inside the truck. They broke a large umbrella holder and tossed it in the snow without telling me. They also damaged walls and put dents in my expensive front door while moving furniture through the house. My floor safe worked perfectly before the move, but afterward I had to destroy it just to get it open. They never explained why they refused to move a large computer desk or my matching Queen Anne recliners. They also failed to reconnect my convertible bed, leaving wires hanging out everywhere. Over the years I spoke with and emailed multiple employees, completed forms, and submitted photos multiple times. Each time I was told to resubmit documentation, and then I would hear nothing back. To this day I have not been reimbursed for any of the damages, which would supposedly be based on weight. This is by far the worst moving company I have ever dealt with. I would strongly caution anyone considering using them.

    3 minutes ago-Edit On 6/10/19, American Van Service moving…read morecompany picked up items from our previous home in Lake George, NY and delivered the items to storage located at Big Boom Road in Glens Falls, NY. As per our agreement, the contents were delivered to Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 on 6/17/19. Upon delivery of the items to our new home, it was clear that several items were damaged either in storage or in transit. It was brought to the attention of Seth Rukat immediately upon the time of delivery and he dismissed it. His response was "I don't know what happened". We certainly don't know what happened except the items were damaged. We were also concerned at the time since originally there were four moving trucks (three full trucks and one was filled only half way) that picked up the items in Lake George and there were only three trucks (two were full, one truck was filled only half way) that delivered the items to Saratoga Springs, NY. I'm not sure how fewer trucks were used to deliver same items. There are several boxes that have yet to be unpacked due to remodeling efforts being done the new home, therefore, more items could potentially be damaged. Also, when the delivery was made on 6/17/19, American Van Service moving company was supposed to bring a small sofa bed upstairs and that was not done. It currently sits in the first floor kitchen area. We are elderly and this is not an undertaking that we should have to do especially considering it was agreed upon that it would be delivered to a second floor room. In addition, the boxes were all labeled to where the final destination was to be (i.e. kitchen, basement, upstairs bedroom, first floor bedroom) and most of the boxes labeled "basement" were left in the garage. Again, it was agreed upon that these boxes would be delivered to the appropriate location labeled on the box. I did phone the moving company on 6/25/19 to try and resolve this matter, but Seth was not available to take my call so I left a message with the receptionist (no response to date). Since that date, several phone calls have been made. The receptionist refuses to give me the owners contact information. Next steps are to contact the Better Business Bureau and NYS/US DOT. The moving company clearly took advantage of an elderly couple.
