I can readily attest to Dr. Gavin's knowledge, skill set, and pleasant, encouraging nature! I am not what someone would call an athlete, but I've had my share of knee injuries over the years (one of my doctor's said my joints are loosey-goosey so it's easier for my knee cap to slide out of place). I was new to the San Diego area and I did not have a doctor to turn to when my knee cap slid out of place (slipped on hard wood floors), and left me in great pain and unable to bear full weight on it. While I was waiting to get in to see a doctor, I was getting by on crutches very fearful about doing further damage. I was worried there was structural damage, but I couldn't get in to see a doctor, let alone get an MRI for weeks! In comes Dr. Gavin to my rescue! Dr. Gavin was so patient and kind while examining my knee for structural damage. It helped me relax knowing he knew exactly what he was looking for as he moved my knee and applied different pressure without causing any pain. He explained what he was doing and why before he did anything, so even though I was terrified at the beginning, I felt assured when I "passed" each step of the process. He wasn't pushy or belittling of my situation, but told me he didn't find any structural damage, and that the more I could start using it, the better I would feel. I cannot tell you how much that helped me mentally push through my fear, so I could truly start the recovery process. Soon after, I was able to walk up to him without any crutch and then shortly after that, I even stopped wearing my brace! This was a huge step for me because without Dr. Gavin's encouragement and support, I would not have developed the confidence to put myself back into motion! He takes the scary out of the unknown, and when it comes to our bodies and pain - it can be really scary (at least for me!), and he helped me work through that so I'm able to walk on the beach, carry groceries up stairs, and all those normal things I had been missing out on! He's definitely someone I feel comfortable putting my trust in and seeing how passionate he is about helping the people he works with just adds to the experience! read more

I was in the North Shore area on vacation this month when I threw my back out pretty bad (herniated my L5-S1). I lucked out and found Gavin on Yelp. His stellar reviews compelled me to reach out to him. And I am so happy that I did. Let me tell you, after 1 session with him, I totally understand the reason for the awesome ratings. I have seen a lot of different docs in my life, and his bedside manner is refreshing. He was so easy to talk to. He genuinely cares and wants to help you get better/improve. He is very knowledgeable and his level of customer service is top notch. He listens carefully to your concerns and gives great feedback. Honestly, I was already feeling better after just one session. I went back to him 2 more times and I am moving normally again with no pain. Including being able to pick up and carry my 1 1/2 year old baby. Plus, I now have a great plan that he helped put together for me, to get into a better shape to help prevent this type of injury from happening again. An exercise plan that I am looking forward to doing! Actually, part of me wishes I lived here so he could be my regular chiropractor. I was treated by Dr. Sangrey for back pain that I had been dealing with for years. I kind of gave up on it because it always came back no matter who I saw for it. Dr. Sangrey did a thorough exam and watched me move and told me what he thought was going on. He treated me with chiropractic and some massage work then he gave me a bunch of exercises that he said would keep me out of pain. I saw Gavin when I was having severe sciatica pain. He is super knowledgeable and was way more thorough than any other chiropractor I have even seen. He gave me some exercises to do at home which really helped. He even had me bring my baby in so we could practice proper movement while lifting her. I've been constantly injuring myself over the past few years, and since I introduced regular exercise routines last year, those injuries have been flaring up more and preventing me from continuing my fitness journey. I found MMPH/Gavin from Google, and thought it was really great that he wasn't just a chiropractor. He focuses on getting you back on your feet (literally) and back to working out free of pain and stronger than before. After a few rounds of appointments I was able to get over my fear of twisting my ankle from specific workout moves that I struggle with, and my lower back pain has gone away entirely. He helped show me how to continue my stretching and strength training outside of appointments so that I don't incur further injuries. Gavin has extensive knowledge figuring out what specific area is causing the issues, and he also goes out of his way to check in on you to see how your progress is. This is has been by far the best PT i've had and I'd recommend him to anyone who wants to keep injuries from disrupting physical activity. read more

Dr. Gavin is very good. I've been weary of chiropractors in the past but he knows what he's doing. I had been training for a marathon and was in the area and was having trouble with my calfs and tight hamstrings. I highly recommend Dr. Gavin for anyone who would like to be pain free and mobile! He was my light at the end of the tunnel! I was having issues with my right shoulder for two years when my other shoulder started to give me problems. Naturally, I was not happy about this. Someone at work recommended their chiropractor, who gave me temporary relief, but did not seem to want to help long term. So I looked elsewhere and found Dr. Gavin. Dr. Gavin is honest, professional and personable. He is a pleasure to work with and he genuinely cares about helping you achieve your goals. I was always apprehensive about going to chiropractors in the past because I had heard various horror stories. My experience with Dr. Gavin has been quite the opposite. He helped relieve my pain immediately, but also took the time to analyze the root of the problem and come up with a long term plan to get me pain free and able to do the things I used to do. After almost giving up and accepting that I was going to be in pain and discomfort for the rest of my life, Dr. Gavin gave me hope that I could get back to being 100%.
