Move Residential opened their office in Allerton Road in 2008 but had previously established an office at Old Swan. I don't think they have quite achieved the "relaxed coffee shop" style they speak of on their website - compared to some estate agents in London with bottles of water everywhere, this still looks pretty much like an estate agents to me. As for relaxed, well you could start by losing the suits and ties as this look has nothing to do with being professional. The office still looks very smart and new but I don't think that flat screens in their window are enough to differentiate them from other agents. Besides an A4 particular sheets are far more effective and ecofriendly. One thing that might be worth checking, there is no mention of any professional affiliations on their website other than OEA and OFT logos. read more

COWBOYS Move Residential are an absolute joke.BEWARE they tie you into a 16 WEEK contract. We were never told we had to have an EPC, which if discovered we would have been liable for a £200 fine. It is ILLEGAL for a property to even be on the market without one. When it came to terminating our contract with them they refused to come and take their sign down and two weeks later, despite daily phone calls our house is still on their website even though we have appointed new agents. This would explain why when I have asked to view properties on their website, viewings could not be arranged as they are obviously falsely advertising properties. I have now come to the point of contacting The Property Ombudsman about their rogue methods. DO NOT USE MOVE RESIDENTIAL TO SELL YOUR HOME. I would seriously recommend a more mainstream, experienced agent, and am sorry we got sucked in by their sales talk. read more

Avoid this company. They sell themselves as the biggest and best on Merseyside and indeed on the residential side I had a good experience with them, although expensive. The lettings people are awful. Any job you want done on the house does not happen unless you threaten legal action. My heating broke a number of times during the winter and during the winter I had to use electric heaters leaving me and my family cold. This was blamed on "the landlord". When the heating was fixed to some extent it still did not function properly. An appliance broke beyond repair and was never replaced because , I was tol, this is "a luxury item" (a tumble dryer). The door to the living room was not fixed, neither was the front door which allowed wind to whistle through the house. On leaving, I have now been told they are witholding my deposit because "the toilets are dirty" (they had both been cleaned before leaving) and there is an iron mark on the bedroom carpet. When I told them this had been there since I moved in they said this was "my side of the story" and "it was not on the inventory" and also it is my fault for not reporting it! My experience was that anything reported brought about no action whatsoever. On moving in, the garden was a wilderness and my son and I restored it to full health, replanting the lawn and cutting back the shrubs. This took considerable cost and effort. The telephone manner of the employees is brusque to say the least. The attitude to any complaints is to say "I'll pass it on to the landlord, thank you". Despite guaranteeing 100% that I had not damaged the carpet, they refused to withdraw allegations that it was my fault. They are forwarding their "evidence"...toilet shots included- to the company who hold my deposit. The professionalism of the staff leaves a lot to be desired. There is no care for the interests of the tenant, only those of the landlord. I would tell matters to one employee, only for this to be forgotten or not passed on. They will not budge an inch to accept that they might be in the wrong. Only threats get results. Oh, and by the way, I will be back for my lampshades and light bulbs which I replaced in the house free of charge and left for the next tenant. Please don't be taken in by the slick office. Letting with Move has been a downhill slope. Viewing the property the agent clearly had not done any background research but it appeared suitable so I took it. From then to letting the property I have sent numerous phone calls and emails which are often ignored and then they assume I know what is going on. There has been little if not any contact between Move and my landlord and as a result I moved into a property with a broken fridge, boiler, lights, shower, door lock, kitchen tap and no hot water! They told me only on the day I collected the keys that it was landlord managed not Move managed so I was stranded with a falling apart property! Absolutely ridiculous. No one seems to know how anything in the flat works, anything about the bills, and the state that the last tenant has left it in! Plus I have no inventory so I am making one myself. My deposit is still not protected and every time I ring up they are rude and unhelpful. Stay well clear! Only giving 2 stars because Holly has been quite supportive throughout my time with Move, everyone else has been abismal. read more

Absolute disgraceful service. My relative put an offer in on a house which was accepted by this estate agents. She even received a confirmation letter to say that the offer had been accepted. After organising the mortgage and solicitor she thought everything was running smoothly until she received a call from one of their staff saying that a higher offer had been put in and that my relative would have to increase her offer to have any chance of getting the house. My relative was very annoyed and decided to speak to a solicitor who said that it was 'naughty' what they did but there's nothing she can do about it. I'd advise anyone not to touch them with a ten foot barge pole! Just remember that that they will pull the carpet beneath your feet,even when you think the deal has been sealed. read more

Poor! We've rented with Move Residential managing the property and have found them too be incredibly rude, intimidating and unhelpful. If you're looking to rent through a company and want lies and an uncertainty they are for you! Good luck is all I can say! read more
