I am disappointed at the poor service and quality provided…read more The shirts which the proprietor altered for me were done to a poor standard and I had to visit his shop three times 9-5 on various days before he was actually available to let me collect them. The alterations requested were basic: take four brand new shirts and shorten the sleeves by exactly two inches while also moving the gauntlets. An alteration I have paid for at countless other back street seamsters across the country before. Yet in contrast to the work I have seen previously, this gentleman's needlework leaves a lot to be desired. My shirtsleeves are now replete with loose threads, incomplete stitching, and a generally shoddy standard of work. I will take my next batch of shirts to a more reliable alterations tailor elsewhere next time. For £10 a pop, this is substandard work and an utter inconvenience to collect them.

They couldn't even give me an answer when asked why I hadn't been told this when I phoned them before coming. If they can't get this right, how can I have confidence in their abilities as a tailor? Most horrifically, when I phoned back, the male owner was being aggressive. I still stated the value of the skirt, and it was the first time to be dry cleaned; so I do hope them to resolve the poor condition of my skirt, he said: "I will give you your money back, WHY DON'T YOU JUST SHUT YOUR MOUTH UP!" I was asked to pay for a price not including VAT as well as what appears to be a fairly high amount for the delivery costs (£35). The Roderick website never mentioned that such good surprise may arise (of course because if they would have, I'll probably would have reconsidered my choice). And when I reported that incident, they offered nothing more than the average "not responsible for this kind of situation" that clearly characterise the total lack of empathy with the average old client I suppose I am. Gone are the times when a little sympathy, understanding or consideration to their customers from this establishment were the key words!!! Good morning faceless profit!!!
