Lino (Leno?) is so great! He picked us up very promptly, was kind, efficient, patient and funny! This guy is a real treasure.

Our vehicle broke down with a blown transmission in Bozeman, Montana and we required a tow to the Canadian border through AAA. Mountain West Towing was the only company AAA was able to find available to take the tow, however it took 8 days from the day of the tow request for it to be completed (some of this delay can be attributed to AAA but the earliest Mountain West was planning to do the tow was 5 days after the request). The tow was 100 miles further than the 200 miles included with our membership and Mountain West Towing charged us $1245 for these 100 miles. Upon request Mountain West would not provide an itemized quote or explanation of the exorbitant cost of the tow. Over the phone we were told part of the cost was paying for a hotel room for the driver, which seeing as the total tow was 300 miles (approximately 4.5 hours) and therefore round trip the drive was only 9 hours we can't see why that would be necessary. The driver also verbally told us he was "heading home" after he dropped off the car. Seeing as Mountain West would not give us a breakdown of the cost, we will never know what we were charged for, but you can be the judge of if $12/mile is reasonable or predatory based on the fact they knew we were trapped with no other option. read more

Mat was horrible, lacks integrity and is nothing but greedy. Unfortunately, I was in a car accident and the cop failed to ask me whom I'd like to tow my car. Mountain West showed up after the Bozeman Fire Dept., had cleaned up everything. The driver rushed me and I wasn't thinking about getting all my stuff outta my car since I was still in shock. Driver never gave me a receipt for taking my car, he was in a rush to get to 5pm happy hour somewhere. Next day, I called and asked what time would be convientent for me to pick up my things outta the car. Mat at Mountain West replied: If you wanna pay me $85.00 to send a guy out to the yard to met you, otherwise wait till Monday. Well, Monday, I had my car towed outta there so he couldn't charge the at fault driver's insurance company $75.00 a day, in Bozeman the rate is normally $50-60. Mountain West SUCKS! I called Mountain west on sunday evening. My son was stuck at the airport with a dead car... wouldnt jump start. He jumped right in his truck, delivered and installed a battery. It was bad but we also had a bad alternator. He called his tow guy... They came right away, took my son to his dorm, and dropped the car at the shop, and were really reasonable on price. Best towing company out there!! They've helped me with car lockout, a dead battery, and a car tow, and it's always been a good experience. Nothing sucks more than having a car break and needing to get it towed to the mechanic, but Donald made it sufficiently less suck worthy haha! Always super fast getting out to help, and very knowledgeable and efficient (with my bad car luck I've had Donald come out to save the day four times now so that's a statement that's been put to the test). This company is a bunch of criminals. Left me stranded on the side of the road because I wouldn't let them tow me to their buddies shop so those criminals could take advantage of me too. All after calling AAA for roadside help. I know companies pay to be s member but they should still be reputable companies. Yet last time they sent them out Walmart was able to get me going for free even after these crooks said they couldn't. Walmart is better than you really. read more

Chris did a great job of not only towing my vehicle when it needed it, but also, of making me feel comfortable about the entire (otherwise stressful) process. They are scammers. Available 24hr for impoundment but closed weekends for pick up. Charge extra $200 for vehicle sitting on the lot until Monday. What a racquet they have going. read more

Scheduled a tow at 2pm, was told by dispatch 40min to location, called ever hour to check up now at 7:15 I get a call from a man that says he wasn't gonna tow hours ago. So waited 5 hours at 90f with 3 kids on the side of the road now they tell me to try another company. read more

I couldn't get my car started so I Called AAA because of dead battery. Mountain West came within 15 minutes and jumped started my car. It only took 30 minutes from when I called AAA that they had my car going again. Great service. I recommend them highly read more

These guys are fantastic! We used them twice using AAA roadside assistance. The serpentine belt on our car broke. They towed the car to a safe location, then took us to our hotel in Bozeman. We found a repair shop that would fix it and they towed the car there the next day. Both times, they were there within 1/2 hour and were unbelievably polite and helpful. Thank you to Chris for our first tow and Christian fir our 2nd tow. These guys are great! read more

I'm a premier AAA member and broke down on my way to the airport. I called AAA for a tow and they dispatched Mountain West Towing. The driver showed up at my truck while I was in the bathroom at the gas station next door. He left before I came out. I thought that was not cool. The driver refused to come back. When I complained, he called me and said some awful things and said he was glad that he caused me to miss my flight. Finally AAA dispatched a more reputable towing company that took care of me right away. The driver at Mountain West was very unprofessional and the company did nothing to make the situation right. I felt like I was the Griswalds at the little desert gas station in the movie Vacation dealing with these guys. The driver was just awful and should get into another line of work rather than leave people in distress stranded. read more

Unfortunately, we have such bad luck with cars. In the past six months, we have broken down 5 times. My husband commutes to Bozeman from Butte, so when he needs a tow, it's a long one. Besides a company located in Butte, Mountain West Towing is the only one stationed in Bozeman who will make the journey. And we appreciate it so much. With stress from a broken down vehicle, the last thing we need is to be told "no, we won't tow that far." read more

Professional, kind, service-minded, and personable. Mike, owner and operator, responded to my early morning car wreck off of 90 West last week. My frightening morning was completely turned around by Mike's prompt arrival, expertise, and congeniality. He talked me through the process of taking my car to the tow yard, dropped me off at my house, and even bought me a coffee on the way back to my place to help brighten my day. Not only that, but he was a joy to talk with. He truly cares for this community; I know this not only from hearing him share stories of adopting a family every holiday season but also from watching him in action. He was generous in tipping the barista who got us our coffees and had a friendly and respectful relationship with the police officer on-site at my car crash. Mike, thank you a million times over! I know that my truck is in great hands with you and am grateful for all you do for Bozeman. You brightened my day and helped me see the beauty all around! read more

Had to call AAA because we got stuck in on our street. Truly wasn't that bad of a situation- we were just trying to park and got stuck and the tires were just spinning on ice. Not an emergency. I made that very clear to the AAA guy (who was very nice). But, the MTN West Tow company employee was the rudest person we'be ever dealt with. I understand that it is a very busy season and an even busier day but, I do not think it's fair to treat customers the way that he did. He talked to us as if we were the dumbest people on the planet- probably because he took one look and saw we were two 20 year old girls with Alabama plates. We asked if he'd wait for us to park to make sure we didn't get stuck again and his response was "if you hurry I have 20 more people with the same problem" and "i don't know why they put this as a priority. Did you just get tired of shoveling?" We'd been pushing and shoveling for over an hour and we are not those that ask for outside help unless we absolutely need it. Especially since there are so many that need it more than us. I didn't ask to be listed as a priority. We were both so beyond shocked by this customer service. If I had a choice when calling AAA next time for a tow company I will not be using MTN West. I appreciate all the hard work these people are putting in but, I was not impressed and, honestly, a little saddened by the treatment represented by their employee today. read more
