I'd give it zero if I could. The safety of the children is not top priority. they are not honest at all. My child was hit with a water bottle while enrolled in this school and they lied about what actually happened. Then refused to allow him to return to school. I had to make a police report to get a report of the actual truth. They are dismissive and very reserved when answering questions outside of their box. They also make believed a threat to coherse the whole school in fear. They have an agenda and your child is not the priority. Parents beware. read more

I wanted to share with you all my experiences with Mountain Weat Montessori in case anyone is considering sending their children there... Hello Mountain West Montessori community members, I feel compelled to share in full what has been happening at Mountain West Montessori most recently. In regards to the threat of the school. There wasn't one. Police investigated and found at no point was there a threat to the school or the students. How would I know this! I'm the parent of the AP student who was accused of this. The text messages that were shared between the AP student were totally inappropriate from both sides. There were messages alluding to running away within that thread of messages and not once did Mountain West reach out to me or my husband for the safety of my child. Maybe its not their responsibility for the safety of all children after all. The threatening statement that was made towards MWM did not come from my son. Instead it was fabricated by a student who is currently attending MWM and enrolled for next year. You heard that right! The threatening words made towards the school came from a student who shares the same environment as your little ones! This student currently lives VERY close to the school. I have all of the messages from this student and let me tell you there are alot of ALARMING things that were spoken of. He also reached out to my son on multiple occasions that he was home alone and lonely. All of those messages are in the police report if you would like to see them for yourself. I ask myself how this child could imagine some of the violent things he has spoken of? How could he still be allowed in the MWM community with your children? Why didn't MWM exemplify transparency and tell the parent what was going on? Surely they read the messages before making accusations, right? Probably not. Since reading those messages as a mother I was heartbroken and made changes within our home and relationships to build us back up. After being accused of something with no truth really stung! This affected not only my oldest son, but my family as a whole. My innocent Zeo was drug into this as what I can only assume as retaliation. Were they worried I would share the messages? Well I did without hesitation to law enforcement. Ignoring what the teachers might say now after everything that has happened. Zeo loved the environment, the community, and your children. He was doing GREAT for his first ever school year. He would be so excited to tell me what he did in school everyday. I am so proud of him for that! He really surprised me with his willingness to walk into the world so brave at just 5! WOW was my mommy heart so happy for him! I digress. Elezzeo begins to get reports/write ups. Some seemed reasonable and some ridiculous. I mentioned to my husband that I was beginning to get the feeling that someone was targeting Zeo in regards to something my oldest might have said or done. The most recent parent teacher conference solidified my thoughts. Yolanda had nothing nice to say about Zeo at that time and it felt very off. Jessica attended the conference at this time as well and only had positive things to say about Zeo. Elezzeo was hit by another student on May 16th. He has a visible bruise that covers over half of his cheek. When Yolanda brought the report to me it stated that another student punched Zeo because the student wanted to be first in line and Zeo was ahead of him. We discussed the situation, finished the discussion , and I pulled off. I ask Zeo how his day went and he proceeds to tell me that he was hit by the student with his water bottle( we all know what kind of bottle this was as plastics are not recommended in this environment). I think to myself that doesn't line up with what yolanda just told me exactly so I decide to pull back in line to inform Yolanda what Zeo had just told me. Also in hopes that the report would be written up in full truth as I just signed paper work that did not hold the full truth of what unfolded that day. I spoke with Yolanda again and told her "zeo says he was hit by the student with his water bottle not his hand" she states "I did not see that"(eyes wide open). I simply suggested to her that moving forward knowing this student can get aggressive about his place in line we keep a closer eye read more

I moved to El Paso eight months ago and my toddler had been dealing with a lot of adjustments like being away from family and his usual environments. My son has never been in school but he's been doing great with child care at gyms and at church so I figured let's try getting him into school. I tried Mountain West Montessori, hoping this would be a better option than taking him to a typical day care. The staff was great up until it was time for the child's visit. When my partner and I arrived for the visit with our son, we didn't get a warm welcome. A guide came to grab my son to take him to the classroom but my son wasn't comfortable with leaving with a stranger especially in a place that's unfamiliar to him. I was able to walk him back to the classroom but when I walked back I noticed there was a lot going on in the classroom, seemed very busy. I was told the ratio is 2 guides per 24 kids in the children's house (3-6yr) classroom which is what the ratio is for a typical day care. I thought Montessori schools were supposed to have less students in a classroom so a child could get more one on one attention from his teacher but I was mistaken. Anyway, I waited in the front office during the visit and twenty minutes went by and a different teacher came back with my son and a lady in the front office just told us someone would call us later that day and that we could leave. It was just a very odd experience. I have 4 years of experience working at a daycare and never was a child taken away from the parents during a visit. I never received a call so I had to call them to ask what was going on? The next day they sent me an email saying my son was denied. I don't understand how a school can make a proper judgement if a toddler is "fit" for their school based off 20 minutes especially when a toddler is an entirely new environment. I'm not happy with this school and in the end I'm grateful I went through this experience because I wouldn't want my son to be a part of a school who manages things in this way. read more

Unfortunately this school was not for us. For what they charge I would have expected a much better experience. They present themselves as an environment of freedom and creativity, but they are strict and mean in the classrooms. We trusted them with our three children who all left the school quite compromised emotionally and academically. I do not recommend this school mostly because if you have a problem and you try to address it with the staff and administration, they will do nothing to help resolve it and when your kids won't stop crying about how much they hate the environment and you stop going, they will charge you anyway, even though they did not hold up their end of the agreement to be an attentive truth filled school at all, or try to repair anything when you are overwhelmed and quit. Very disappointed that places like this that lack integrity but sell you a dream are out there. read more
