Really bad customer service and false advertising. Went there with my family. My son grabs a toy that has a price tag of 2.00 while we're ringing it up he is telling the woman at the register how excited he is to play with the toy. She's ignoring him while browsing something on her phone. Turns out she was looking for how much the item is selling for online. Then, tells my son that the item was mis priced and that they can't sell it for 2.00 but instead 30.00. So ridiculous! I told her we will not be back and it's shameful to do that to a child! Don't waste your time for a good thrifting experience. I do believe what she did is also illegal. If that's the price it was on the shelf that's the price that should be honored. read more

I have shopped there a lot and gotten some good stuff in the past. But the last time I was there I bought a vacuum for $50 that I was assured worked "great!" I thought $50 was a lot, but it's for charity so why not, right? Got it home and it doesn't work at all, plus the canister is stuck so I'm unable to clean the filter. Probably why it was donated in the first place. Manager wouldn't even get on the phone with me, told through a volunteer that they wouldn't take it back. I should have inspected it myself but I stupidly trusted the manger. Buyer beware!! read more

Cute thrift store, but some of the prices seem ridiculously high. On the tags of some of the "specialty" items are explanations that the item goes for more online. I shop at thrift shops for the deals. I'll shop online if I want to pay these prices. read more

I'm visiting a friend for a few weeks in Lake Arrowhead. I visited this shop and it is filled with items(loved that)but way over priced. But what was hard for me to swallow was that the women that work there are shopping while working. I asked about a bowl that I saw laying next to the pay counter and was told that an employee was already buying it. In fact she already had her pile of items. I thought, let me try one more time visiting the store. I saw a tall vase come out of the back room and no sooner a woman employee nabbed it and said she wanted it. In the few times I wanted to buy an item, the employee gets it first. They did not offer for me as the customer to buy it first. So disappointed that I'm not an employee with first dibs in this store. Some locals mentioned a store in nearby Crestline, has a good store. read more

Visited during the pandemic season. Volunteers checked your temperature and sanitize your hand before anyone can go on their shopping spree. Wowzers is this place busy! I came to the Mountain Thrift Shop to look for bargains on a Thursday morning about 11:00am. When I entered the shop, there was a line of approximately 8 people winding through the packed store. Pros : The clothing is sorted by size unlike other thrift stores or Goodwill. This makes shopping easy, I can go right to my size and not sift through piles of clothing. They have tons of winter items, which is great for local families. I noticed they have a lot of quality outdoor sports items like , snow skis, water skis, wakeboard, snow suits, and a wetsuit. They had house hold items for the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. There were tons of books, records, VHS, and baby items. Most items were gently used. Cons: The shop has narrow isles with items stacked in tightly. It is slightly claustrophobic trying to squeeze by the other patrons. The holiday decoration area was a disaster. Christmas and Easter decorations were thrown aimlessly all over the shelves. It was an eyesore that I avoided. Some of the clothing and bedding looked tattered and dirty. I had the strong desire to wash my hands after making my purchases. I have been trying to make this shop my favorite little thrift store for the last year, but I am so done with this place. The owners of this "thrift shop" should be embarrassed at how they price their items. So many things are priced for what the owners think they're worth instead of what the right price is to sell them quickly to support their charities. like they are trying to sell them as new or used on eBay or Amazon. $50 for old shoes, $60 for a purse, some dvds are $3, some are $10+. The costume jewelry is all over the place. They have a pen in their glass case listed for $50! YOU GET THIS STUFF FOR FREE! If you wanted to run a retail store then do that but this is supposed to be a charity store where you are not only helping out local charities but the people in the community who are looking for low priced items. This store doesn't feel like a charity store, it feels like greed. read more

I read some reviews and yes there are sometimes where items are really a great deal and some are ridiculously priced but you find that at most thrift shops. The one star is for customer service first of all I don't use hand sanitizer it affects my skin and they made it mandatory and they act like everybody has Rona! I know our country is divided on this issue but they sure make you feel like crap while you're shopping and when you enter and when you leave! Shopping sometimes can be therapy not here! I had two items that I was purchasing and I was using my Debit card I didn't bring my purse and I don't ever bring my purse when I shop at a thrift shop. Anyway because I didn't have my ID which I would've had no problem going to get they treated me like I was a criminal.they can keep my selections! read more

You can find bargains for sure, but it's far too many occasions now that the staff has been rude. I realize they are volunteers, mostly seniors, but if you're trying to raise funds for charity, then politeness, kindness go a long way. I'm a local, and have patronized this store for many years. I cannot believe the inhumanity of some people! My wife came in there today in order to pick up a picture frame and possibly some other items. She had our 3 year old son and our 1 year old daughter with her. While looking around our 3 year old son said he had to go potty (he is relatively new to this and parents will know these moments don't always come well timed) My wife saw a restroom near the back of the store and took him over to prevent some floor spillage. Before they could enter the restroom this older woman stopped them and very harshly said "This bathroom is for staff only! You'll have to take him to Jensen's" Keep in mind that she said this to the face of my wife who is holding the hand of a three-year-old doing the potty dance and our one-year-old strapped to her chest in a baby carrier. My wife tried to explain the situation and pleaded for some understanding but the lady would have none of it and sent her away with a "that's not my problem" attitude. We are mountain residents of 22 years and there are several great thrift shops on the mountain who have a great selection but I for one will no longer be giving my money to people who are willing to treat a mother or children this way. This place is small but full of fun things at a pretty good price. It's a bit tricky to find, it's down some steps tucked away in a corner. I've lived on the mountain for over a year now and have never been but decided to check it out and found some great finds for only $13. Kid 1 got a book and a cool shirt for around $2. Kid 2 got a Wet Seal flannel, Van Heusen sweater, brand new Cat & Jack jeans, a Frida Kahlo shirt, and some combat boots for $8 and I got kid 3 some boot-type shoes for $3. Overall, I got what I was looking for and then some. Great finds! Will be back for sure. read more

All the lady's who work there have always been so kind and helpful to my friends and i when we visit. prices are reasonable and i've always walked out of there with some nice stuff! they also take safety very seriously during the pandemic with temp. checks and provide hand sanitizer. Great finds and should not be missed. The prices are arbitrarily depending on who is pricing, some things are priced too high and some are a steal. Like all thrift stores it's a crap shoot as to what you might find but it often has great stuff. They are very conscientious about taking precautions regrading health safety. It gets really busy during the weekend so go on a weekday if you can. read more

This is a little hidden gem! All kinds of great stuff if you take the time to look. Its usually very neat and organized, the prices are amazing! I never go to the Goodwill or Salvation Army any more as those guys are extremely overpriced for a thrift store. This is the place to go on your treasure hunt! read more

Used to enjoy going to the store to shop and take my donations my wife is a board member of one of the nonprofits that benefits from this organization I took the time out of my day to stop in to make sure that they would have the space and accept 20 bags of winter clothing brand new shoes bedding and I was told yes drove 20 miles away to pick it up in the trailer that I borrowed from a friend brought it in and was given an attitude that they wanted to inspect it and make sure that it was all clean before they accepted it mind you I spoke with Karen when I stopped in to make sure that they would accept this and she said yes it needed to be all clean and I said not a problem my family member took the time to wash it all folded and put it in bags so that it could be brought here don't bother spending your money here cuz it obviously they don't want it unless they can inspect a nitpick each individual item unfortunately these items are going to go to the dump instead. read more

They are really over priced for a thrift store. I found a very simple candle holder and they were asking 10 for it. If you want to check out a thrift store on the mountain I would recommend the thrift store in Cedar Glen or Running Springs if you don't want to pay for things that are marked higher than something out of a store brand new. read more

This store has a small selection of kitchen items and toys, but I saw tons of books and clothing. I bought a women's lightweight warm-up jacket for $3, women's tank tops for $1 ea, women's long and short sleeved shirts for $2 ea and a gorgeous, poufy dress for my daughter to play in (think flower girl in a wedding) for only $3. There was a large selection of women's clothing for cold weather, so I will definitely be back when cooler weather approaches. :) read more
