Coffee service looks OK but food service VERY SLOW and not very good.
Well, we wandered in for a breakfast after climbing Mt Cooroora, family of four and very hungry. 10:01 our order is in, 10:15 our iced coffees and chocolates are served to our table. Looks like coffees are popular and served with reasonable speed. About this time people arrive and sit at the adjacent table. About 10:35 they get served their breakfast (looks like the same pesto scrambled eggs my daughter ordered). We've been sitting outside and have seen a red-headed kid leave the kitchen and go out on various shopping trips. About 10:45 I wander in at a slow moment and wonder aloud whether they may have forgotten about our meals? "Oh they are just fixing them now - would you like another coffee while you wait?" "No thanks" - I've already had a coffee and rarely have two. So about 10:50 out comes my daughters pesto scrambled eggs, with plain toast and not thick-sliced per the menu. Smoked salmon not that nice. Waiting longer, about 10:55 here comes my son's bacon egg and cheese on panini bread except it's not on panini bread it's on a plain hamburger roll. Never mind, he's starving and he likes it. Waiting LONGER, finally out come the two full breakfasts at 11:00am - for some reason one has the thick toast and the other has the plain toast? The server asks if there is anything else we'd like, to make up for the long wait, and we ask for a serving of thick toast for the two meals that didn't have it. Shortly after that we are served an order of thick toast (no idea why it didn't come with the meals as ordered), we finish and go.
Prices were $14.90 for the pesto scrambled eggs, $13.90 each for two full breakfasts, and $8.90 for the panini (not panini) sandwich. The iced drinks must have been $4.50 as the total bill was $62+ and I'm thinking that if it takes over an hour to get a family meal out and you can't serve it according to the menu, you shouldn't charge these kinds of prices - maybe you should just stick to coffee and muffins. read more
