Interesting that there aren't too many reviews on this swell building. Maybe because the average age of the population that generally lives here is not aware of yelp (and all other technology, social media platforms out there)?
I hastily decided to move into this building because many god-awful things fell out of place and it was overall, a bad decision. These are individually owned condos, and the building is managed by this god-awful property management company. HOA + bad management = disaster all the time. Let me break it down, before you, you poor person, make the innocent decision to be fooled like I was.
1. The elevators are always broken. Oh yes, broken on a regular basis. Fear not, usually at least 1 out of the 2 are working. With 16 floors of people, sure that's really efficient. Why is it always broken, you ask? Because the HOA doesn't have enough money to repair and do what actually needs to be done in order for these to work properly all the time. They are each a POS. I would not have taken them if I didn't live on the top floor.
2. Oh yeah, it sounds cool to live on the top floor. In fact though, all you have to look at is the construction of the big apartment being built next door to look at if you live on the east side of the building. When that's done, you'll be looking into someone's window.
3. If you ever injure yourself, this place is not handicap friendly. You're SCREWED. I'm not sure how the older folks can handle getting around in there. It was a hassle to even get all my groceries upstairs.
4. Let me go back to the elevators. If you're trying to leave in a hurry, make sure to give yourself at least 15 minutes of leeway before you get yourself stressed out, just in case the elevators are broken again. It can take that long for one to arrive since there's only 1 picking up and dropping people off.
5. Grumpy ass neighbors. I can't even tell you how many dirty looks I got from people in there when we had to move in or out. People get really pissed when there's only 1 elevator available.
6. Moving fees. LOTS. HOA is trying to scrounge up every bit they can get out of you. $150 move in. $150 move out. Those are for the "elevator reservation." $35 for security keys. It's not cheap to get in or out of there. It's a load of BS.
7. The office people are horrendous. She's no longer there, but a woman named SueEllen N. was an office management nightmare. She was rude, unprofessional in every way. Moving day, she was calling me and blowing up my phone 6x telling me to hurry up with our move so that she could go down to the cherry creek arts festival. I heard she's out trying to start her own business. Don't go near it. You've been warned.
8. Water shut offs monthly. PIA. I don't know why they do this.
9. A/C doesn't always work.
10. Since there's an individual condo owner and the management office, it's confusing to know who to go to and for what reasons. We were often going back and forth between the two and were being tossed around like tennis balls (or so it felt like).
Ok, list is getting really long, but that's just a TASTE of what we dealt with while living there. I can list more, but honestly I'm tired and done. I can happily say we've moved out and will never look back. I just thought I'd warn anyone else out there before they make a terrible decision. read more
