You CAN do it yourself, but we honestly did not have the time to figure it all out and didn't want our wedding to be ruined by not hiring the right vendors, location, etc. Included was booking the location outside, the back-up indoor location, getting our marriage license (which they went with us to do!), photographer fees, flowers, hair and make up, cake, and limo transportation. While they do not book the reception, they gave us a great recommendation that was fantastic. Everything turned out awesome. I did not have ANY worries on my wedding day and it was so nice to be able to just take it all in and enjoy those precious moments. THAT is definitely worth it. All of the vendors were fantastic, the location was amazing, and we have pictures that are unbelievable. Thanks Rocky Mountain Weddings! Our 5 year anniversary is coming up and we still think about our beautiful wedding all the time!

I, myself, tried THE MIXED BAG - alberta pork kimchi dumplings, wasabi pork sui mai, chicken and vegetable dumplings, all the sauces...it was fun to mix and match the dumplings with all the 4 sauces. The dumplings were full of the filling and perfectly steamed. My friends had the SPICY CHICKEN BURGER - crispy alberta chicken, le fournil + BLAKE co-lab chili sesame milk bun, teriyaki, garlic mayo, iceberg, japanese curry hot sauce, sweet and spicy chips, the GINGER BEEF DUMPLING SOUP broth, red pepper, scallion, compressed celery with a side of CORNBREAD WAFFLES - hot honey, organic butter, coal salt, and the RETURN OF THE MAC "craft dinner" rotating pasta, craft beer, bacon, peas, cheddar, parm, quebec cheese curds, umami ketchup. Everyone was happy with their dishes, and I would go back again to try more. The reason why it lost a star was it took a long time initially to get a server to get us menus and our drinks, other than that it was spot on with food.

Upon arrival the parking is good. Restaurant is very upscale looking. Has a neat history of the Iron Goat (I will let you read that for yourself). The server came and told us he would be right with us (which means slot to me...vs being ignored). He (can't remember his name..so sorry) was very friendly, very attentive, and helped us with our questions about the menu and also questions we had about visiting Banff in the morning. His recommendations were spot on. We had the cornbread as an appetizer and chicken gyro, game burger, dragon bowl, fish and chips, and French dip. The cornbread was a delicious start. The molasses butter was very mild and added the right touch to the bread. The chicken gyro was made in house and all the flavors married very well together. The French dip was so good, the best I have ever had. Steak was very tender and flavorful and crispy onions were made in house adding a nice touch. Must give Iron Goat a try!

By 7:15 PM, we had to flag someone down to find out who would be serving us. The server that ended up helping us apologized and explained there was confusion among the staff. The manager personally came over, apologized, acknowledged our frustration, and said they would expedite our food. The food itself was good with no complaints. The beef dishes were cooked to our requested temperatures, and the ribs, cheesy noodles, ravioli, tuna steak, and sweet potato salad were all enjoyable. The initial service was frustrating, but we appreciated the manager taking ownership and making a meaningful gesture to make things right. Overall, the food was good and the recovery was acknowledged and appreciated.

I recently got married at Hive Gallery, and words cannot express how wonderful the experience was…read more Cheryl and the rest of the crew went above and beyond to make sure the day was absolutely perfect. Everything that I envisioned for the day was carried out perfectly, from the photo booth that was set up for us to the room where kids could hang out and watch Netflix. We opted to have the ceremony outside on their large balcony, and it was truly a beautiful setup, with flowers entwined over an archway above us and the mountains surrounding us. Cheryl was even so kind as to record the whole ceremony for us, as my husband's family was unable to attend, so we will have a very special piece of the day to share with them when we go visit. The staff took care of all the decor based on inspiration photos that I had provided and assembled floral bouquets for all the tables, which were absolutely beautiful. The food, which was provided by Cornerstone Catering, was delicious... the best creme brûlée I've ever had! And when it came time for dancing, the tables were moved away, the disco lights came on, and their very talented DJ went to work, playing songs that kept the dance floor busy all night! I received so many complements from people who attended, telling me how beautiful the venue and the ceremony/reception were. I would not change anything about the day, as it was executed perfectly. Thank you to the staff at Hive Gallery for making my wedding day so magical!

My wedding reception was recently hosted at the Hive. I am writing this review to provide feedback…read moreto others considering the same, and to experience some sort of catharsis after an overall awful experience on what should have been a happy day. I have never felt so belittled, disregarded, and demeaned in a professional relationship. Before I provide insight into my negative experiences, I should recognize areas where the Hive excelled. The Hive is a beautiful facility with an interesting layout that lends itself well to smaller groups hosting events. The art work is top notch, and the décor of the wedding itself was put together beautifully. Staff members worked hard to choose, create, and set up flower arrangements and accommodate color selections. Staff members accommodated our guests with specific food restrictions, and ordered/picked up 2 meals from a local restaurant. This was going above and beyond as I expected needing to ask a family member to do this. The Hive hired an exceptional bartender to work the main bar. I had nothing but positive interactions with her and received good feedback from our guests. I will also say that our guests largely had a good time, enjoyed the venue, and had fun with the adult paint room. The Hive agreed to set up a photo booth with short notice (although this only required setting up a small digital camera on a tripod, securing a black sheet over a wall, and placing props I had already purchased on tables/hooks). The Hive was also good at adding small touches, such as placing blankets on the backs of chairs of outdoor guests for comfort. I realize my review is lengthy. In this case, the length is directly proportional to the level of difficulty we had in planning the wedding with the Hive. Due to character restrictions on Yelp, I cannot post my entire review here. I urge you to read the full thing on Trip Advisor (https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Attraction_Review-g181727-d9765610-Reviews-The_Hive_Gallery_Gatherings-Canmore_Kananaskis_Country_Alberta.html). If you do not have time, I will briefly sum up my experience. From the onset, there were communication issues. Complete information was not always provided; contradiction and inconsistency were instead the standard. I felt that the process was poorly organized and scattered. Major changes were proposed to our program, and contracts with the caterer as many as 5 days, and as little as 1 day before the wedding. Arrangements were not carried out as requested and agreed upon. I urge you to visit the Trip Advisor review for an abundance of concrete examples of my experiences.

While parking is convenient and easy to access, the elevators from the parking area are quite slow and small. I was curious about trying out the onsite spa, but the treatment prices and lack of availability discouraged me from doing so. The unit itself was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. We were pleased with our stay. We visited the pool & hot tub once during our stay, and the pool was smaller than expected. The locker room area was slightly cramped and lacked multiple showers. The staff (other than Martin the caterer who was amazing) was just terrible. They don't care, and offer very little help and seemingly hate to be there. Each time I spoke to the staff the answer was some form of "we are a resort and don't do that." The meeting rooms are sad and tired. Lights are burned out all around the place. Rooms were super clean (which is really the main thing I worry about with travel), and RIDICULOUSLY quiet, especially for being a couple shakes away from main street. Seriously, I forgot we even had neighbours. Not a peep of noise all night (on a friday, at that!). Our only real (and small) gripe was the temperature. Despite fiddling with the room heating, it was always just a little chilly. But we had a tall roof, a big window, and perhaps not the best "fiddling" knowledge.
