It took some convincing, but my husband finally agreed to drive the 30 minutes out of our way to stop here. The ad for the farmers market looked good, but I wondered why the website did not list any vendors, events, or other information. Now I know why. The market's location is right in downtown with ample parking and a nice covered shelter. I was shocked to see as we approached that there were only THREE (3) vendors in a space that could easily hold 30 or more. One table was selling candles (I think) and about 12 small tomatoes. Another had non-produce products and the last table was selling snack cakes. It was a far cry from my vision of taking home bags of fresh peaches, zucchini, heirloom tomatoes and any other local products to supplement our post-vacation pantry. It was the saddest farmers market I've ever seen and believe me when I tell you that if looks could kill (remember convincing hubby to drive out of our way) I'd be gone.

Apple cider isn't usually something I'm gonna go running for but when I got that first smell, my legs just started going. Once I obtained the delicious morsal of sugar I headed down the walk way and was in constant awe of the handmade and local treasures. From hanging bug eating plants... yes plants that EAT bugs... to pottery, honey, spices, veggies, free range eggs (second best find of the day)... One of the best markets I've been too. I bought popcorn on the way in, and it was indeed good. Very clean, and alot of shops to wander around in. I went straight into the quilt shop and bought some beautiful material. I plan on making some pillows in the near future. Wow the quilting shop was one for the books, I could have stayed in there for hrs. So many crafting ideas and nice material. They ladies do offer classes, or can tell you who does in the area. They have antique shops, puzzle store, cook ware, toy store, decor and food for purchase. Im sure I missed a few things. This is a must stop if your in the area. All the shops seemed amazing and reasonable priced. Lots of parking, and everyone was welcoming. I met a few fellow antique collectors along the way.
