It pays to keep your eyes open. Granted that $.03 might only translate to $.45 for a 15 gallon fill up, but every penny counts in this economy.

There weren't a lot of customers at the pumps, but the in-store foot traffic was pretty large. It prompted me to go inside and look around. This place is clean, very clean. The cashier seemed to handle the customers effortlessly. Also there was plenty of merchandise for sale and more importantly; no empty shelves! I'd stop here again when the gas prices are lowered a small bit!

At first I doubted the listing, since the price was a good 40 cents per gallon lower than other stations we passed. But sure enough, when I pulled off the highway, the sign confirmed it: $2.49 a gallon. QuikTrip also offers an additional 10 cents off per gallon if you pay through their app. That discount requires linking a checking account, which I prefer not to do, but even without it the posted price was excellent. The station itself was easy to access from the highway, with plenty of pumps and a clean, well-lit lot. Inside, the convenience store was tidy and well-kept, and Mrs. K. reported the ladies room was in good shape. Adding to the impression of cleanliness, a small robot was making its rounds on a cleaning patrol. For travelers watching their budget, this stop is a welcome surprise. I've never experienced so much blatant racism in my life as I did when the clerk insulted my friend, referred to him as a N*****, and said my friend wasn't welcome at his gas station! This happened when my friend's payment didn't work, and the clerk made derogatory statements about my friend and his money. So, we left with nothing and didn't attempt to buy anything else. Pay at the pump worked and the printer gave me a receipt for ten gallons of the least expensive gas I bought on the entire thousand mile journey from the far corner of Arkansas to Charlotte. My car is happy (I know this because she stopped beeping at me for low fuel), my wallet is happy (because it's fat and a fat wallet is a happy wallet) and I'm happy because we were back on the road quick and snappy!
