My husband and I went to his home for a consultation and he seemed nice enough, presented all he would do, so we decided to hire him and paid the deposit. We paid him as we went and he's been paid in full. This has been a slow process at which one point he went missing in action, he moved his residence and did not notify us nor the city as to where to contact him. After repeated calls (which his phone message is not set up to leave messages), and emails. I had to hunt him down through Instagram and contact his assistant. Do not use him. We had a project consisting of a simple detached 20 x 20 garage, along with converting our attached garage to a family room and bathroom. We have had the city out on inspections and two of them were not signed off because of his errors on the plans. He has been paid in full and we have yet after two years to receive an accurate set of plans, which I have asked him for 10+ times. I don't like to complain, however, I would not want this to happen to anyone else. Horrible experience. I agree with Joe S's comment. A complaint to the California Architect Board will be sent, as I would be remiss if I didn't. S T A Y A W A Y

He offered smart suggestions that made our project more cost-effective while also adding long-term value to our home. Ponce Design delivered and took the time to walk us through everything in person. The county of Riverside permit requirements are very strict, and it was clear that Sean knew what the county would require. When the county had requests we didn't agree with, he communicated directly with the county planner on our behalf and guided us through the process with confidence and clarity. You get what you pay for with Ponce Design--his work is high quality, detailed, and thoughtful. His expertise, responsiveness, and professionalism made a stressful process feel smooth and manageable. We highly recommend him for any home or ADU project. He is absolutely worth it. Thank you, Mr. Ponce, GT

After being led on by other architects and wasting over a month with them, Howard replied quickly to my questions and gave me a reasonable quote. I asked if he could expedite the project as I was getting ready to deploy and in a matter of less than 10 days the plans were completed and submitted to the city for review. Howard was up front , courteous and kept me posted throughout the whole process by sending me email updates, texts, and phone call. I wish I would have found him sooner! When it was time to deliver our first set of plans he kept making excuses. After some time and two months since our first meeting, we realized that we were not getting anything from him. We are so disappointed that we aren't getting what he promised us, but we are more disappointed that we put our trust in him. There were so many red flags that we ignored because we wanted to give him a chance. Should've listened to our gut instinct. Now, we are set back in our budget and our timeline. Look elsewhere if you are looking for an architect/designer--there are plenty of others on the mountain! We can't speak for his actual work because we never got to see it, but if you are looking for someone who is reliable he is not your guy. He turned out to be another person in the construction industry who takes advantage of innocent homeowners. We are hoping that this review will prevent others from making the same bad decision we made in choosing him. We are also hoping that Howard can make this right, but the odds are against us.
