Never work with this guy. He is horrible to work with and I am out $15k…read more 2 years of going back and forth trying to get permits and designs and nothing ever happened. I had to constantly call the county and see where I was at the process because Edgar was unreliable. He would say one thing and the county would say another. Stay as far away as possible from this company.

I needed architecture services for some improvements to a commercial property and reached out to…read moreEdgar after some very strong referrals from friends who flip homes. After he confirmed he has done several similar projects to mine, I decided to proceed with him. He was great at the beginning, answering calls, calling back, sending messages, everything. We walked the property together for him to take measurements and everything on 5/24. He advised he would have the initial drawings to me by "next Friday (6/2). This was faster than I expected so I was excited! After radio-silence, I followed up on 6/7 (Wednesday) and he said he would send drawings by Friday (6/9). Didn't receive anything until 6/13... 11 days after he originally promised. This would have been fine if everything went smoothly from here. We ended up needing to have him revise the plans due to him not correctly reviewing equipment list, not following our requests, misplacing stuff, mislabeling stuff, etc. Even this would have been fine if he got it correctly in one or two corrections. What ended up following was needing corrections SIXTEEN times (that I counted). Each time it would take me a day or two to review with my team followed by him taking a day or more to send corrections. This obviously delayed us a tremendous amount of time. We FINALLY submitted plans to the city for review July 31st. Only to get a call a few days later because the Building Official at the city wanted to "discuss the scope of the project." We went back in and the building official ripped me a new one telling me the submission was ALL wrong and that he refused to even review it because of how bad they were. I asked Edgar to get it done ASAP so we can get the ball rolling again. Unfortunately, it's not August 23rd and we still don't have plans ready to submit back to the city. This means we are now 13 weeks from taking measurements and do not have plans ready for the city to review. I've pleaded with him to prioritize this project due the delays (and my landlord now breathing down my neck), and his response was "this is the normal process." Which would have been believable, but I spoke with others who are going through similar projects who told me their architects took 6 and 8 weeks from measurement-date to full-approval date. So this is obviously not the normal process. If you're looking for an architect to do any commercial services, this is NOT the firm you want to work with.
