She really listened to me AND personally called me at home after my visit. i couldn't believe that. It was reassuring. She is very kind. EVERY staff member was pleasant and professional. It was really unbelievable to me. I have not experienced this type of medical care in the city. Moet Copeland at the front desk went out of her way to assist me. She too was kind, welcoming and professional. I wish i had the names of everyone who treated me to give them a personal thanks. I was really surprised by the level of care. Though I had an appointment, the wait time was so long that I finished reading an entire New Yorker issue. I was eventually seen by the nurse for the pre-doctor visit who took some swabs for Covid and Strep. But I had to leave for another engagement and after 1.5 hours had to leave before the single doctor on duty saw me. They also refused to send me the results of the swabs because the doctor didn't see me. Though the results of the swabs are not doctor dependent. This place really takes advantage of people. I went here because I had a small cut on my finger that wouldn't stop bleeding. They put a glue strip on it, then they sent me a bill for $1,400. Insurance wouldn't cover it, so I was on the hook for this rip off. The charge is clearly out of proportion with the tiny amount of time and work. They suggest tests when needed and follow ups. The staff also gets 10 stars. They are polite, friendly and thorough, they are everything one wants in medical staff people. Never anything that is not professional. One doctor gets 0 stars. He does not listen carefully, he shouts a lot, he makes faulty -- possibly serious -- treatment mistakes. He does not finish his charting properly so the final diagnosis is not listed. He shouts a lot so that his discussions can easily be heard through closed doors -- what happened to patient privacy. He is a veteran and therefore not necessarily up to date with his treatment plans. This is a wonderful place, just be careful who you see. read more

Reception check in went smoothly and only had to wait about 25 minutes. However, I went in for eye redness/pain/dryness, and the doctor didn't even look at my eye. She was stood at least three feet away from me the whole time and was in the room for about thirty seconds total. She didn't even attempt to look closely, all she said is that from where she was standing it didn't look that red to her and I should apply a warm compress. An urgent care with no urgency whatsoever. Came here for a cough and other symptoms that kept me up at night all week. Waited an hour in the waiting room before being called into an exam room, then waited another half hour for the doctor to saunter in. He asked a few questions and called for a chest x-ray, all within 5 min. Then another 15 min wait for the x-ray tech, who had me remove my bra under my shirt and walk down the hall braless to the x-ray machine. Then another 25 min while I wait for the final results. Let's talk about disrespect and disregard of the Mount Sinai Doctors. About 4 months ago I had to change my primary doctor and I chose one , who TAKES my insurance ( Metroplus). On May 28th 2025 i received a phone call saying that i Have to cancel the appointment on Friday, May 30th 2025, because my doctor doesn't take my Insurance. Few minutes later I received , on Mount Sinai MYCHART , an email, with a message saying my appointment was canceled. I replied to both telling them it was too soon. I have a kidney tease and I do need a prescribed medication for blood pressure, and all my refill was completed, so I was really depending on this appointment. so now you got the disrespect. No one single reply, whatsoever to my messages, so disregarding to me, or any human being. I have all the messages, voicemail and email documented and saved for proof of record. My take on this is: is this a place for health & healing of the money market? Shame! read more

I had a really positive experience here. It by far better than the average urgent care in the city. I think it is probably because it is part of a hospital network. It feels like a doctor's office and not some box shopping strip clinic like I feel when I am at a CityMD-type place. I really appreciated that my doctor, Dr. Ragaz, was so kind and professional. She really took the time to listen to my concerns, she spoke to me like a person and not some dumb patient, and she was thorough. Also, she personally called to give me my test results and followed up asking how I was feeling. Olivia was also down to earth and so welcoming. My only complaint is that the staff at the front desk were nice once you speak to them, but when you enter the office they kinda don't look at you or tell you how to register. I hurt my eye terribly in a work accident. Nearly blind and crying I came to this urgent care and was seen within 10 minutes. I was helped by two MDs and a physician assistant. They did what they could to clean out my eye and try to survey the damage. Ultimately, they suggested I go to the emergency room for a greater level of care, However I must mention the stellar follow up care by one Dr. Nina Ragaz was above and beyond. She, on her own cell phone called eye doctor locations around the city to see if she could make an appointment for me to get specific eye care. (I couldn't do it because I had trouble seeing) Over the next 24 hours I was contacted by several doctor's offices asking me if I needed to make an appointment for follow up. She did this in the middle of a pandemic. You can imagine how busy her practice was. There is only one way to treat a patient correctly and this doctor did just that. An Urgent care with an x-ray machine but no x-ray tech except on Wednesday is pretty useless

Do not go here! There are much more highly rated urgent care facilities on the upper west side, but this surely has to be one of the worst. I have been here a long time ago with a very bad cold was given a script for a Z pack and that was it. But I came here again on a Friday when there is only one doctor available and she was the worst. I came here for a urine culture because I suspected my UTI had returned. There is nothing to really examine you for except to send the sample to a lab to be cultured. But this woman Dr told me to use an antiseptic cleanser in an area of the body where it is contra indicated, and when I mentioned that to her, she tried to dispute it. She also tried to push antibiotics on me without even knowing what organism we were dealing with, I realized she didn't really know what she was doing. I had somebody with me so I had a witness to everything that happened. When I got home, I researched that antiseptic cleanser and indeed I was right it was contraindicated for use in certain areas of the body. She was wrong wrong wrong & on Monday. I called and asked to file a complaint with whoever managed this facility. I spoke to a very nice lady who said she was not the actual manager, but a doctor F would call me back on Wednesday and speak to me. Dr F was the most rude obnoxious and ignorant Dr I have ever encountered. He is one of those Drs who hates anyone who is intelligent. I have some medical knowledge & education and knows how to research things. I was spoken to first of all not as a lady, but as though I were some idiot. He might have an MD after his name, but he is no gentleman. He spoke to me as though I were a retarded moron. He was gruff and obnoxious would be an understatement. He also tried to deny what the doctor I had seen had actually said to me, but I said luckily I had someone with me so I have a witness. I don't care what she wrote in her notes, but I know what we both heard her say. It is always wise if you can to have someone go with you to see a doctor so that no matter what they may write in their notes you have a witness as to what they actually said and did. My conversation with Dr. F had to be one of the worst I have ever had with a doctor,. Iunderstand why there are so many unsatisfactory reviews about this place. I will never ever set foot there again. I have my own private doctors, but this was late Friday and no one was in their office so I figured what could go wrong with just having a urine culture done it's going to be sent to a lab and a result will come back. That was a grave mistake. Since no result could come back until the following week I should have waited and gone to my own private physician who is a specialist. I have never been spoken to by a doctor in the horrific manner as It was by Dr. F. No patient should have to endure such insulting comments and conversation. I can say one good thing about this place. The staff at the front desk are very pleasant. That does not excuse The very wrong instructions I was given by the so-called doctor that I saw or the horrific experience I had in talking with the manager of this facility. Btw I had my cell phone on speaker and someone in my house with me who heard the entire conversation with this doctor F and was horrified. If at all possible go to your own private doctor, but if you really require urgent care look at the reviews of several places on the upper west side, and go to one with the highest rating. And that is not Mount Sinai urgent care. When the culture results come back, I will take them to my own private doctor and let them prescribe what they think is necessary. If you need a simple COVID test, stay away from Mt. Sinai Urgent Care at 10 Union Square. Though they don't evaluate you in any way (they don't ask for medical histories, don't ask what medications you take) they will make sure they bill you for an OFFICE VISIT - even if you're just requesting a LAB TEST. And if you want a prescription for Paxlovid, forget it. Even if you're eligible to receive it and it would be beneficial to take this medication, especially if you're a senior, they will ignore your request. My advice: take a home covid test and if you're positive for COVID & want Paxlovid, call the NYC Health & Hospital help line at 212-268-4319. They will assess you for this medication and prescribe it, if you're eligible. read more

I'm never going back here. Despite being in the same building as my primary care, they dropped my insurance (Anthem PPO) with no warning so I got a huge surprise bill from my last visit which included a 100% unnecessary test they didn't even tell me they were doing, I paid out of pocket like $40 just for that (could've gotten at CVS myself for 5 bucks if I even needed it, which I did not). I complained and they refused to remove it from my bill. Another time back before they randomly stopped taking my insurance, they made me wait 24 hours for covid test results, then the next day when it was positive, the doctor told me I had to come back to the office (while I was supposed to quarantining!) if I wanted paxlovid... so they could charge me for a second visit. I only realized how not normal this was about 6 months later, when I went to a different urgent care in another state and only waited about 30-45 mins for covid test results. read more

Dr. Deena Adimoolam she didn't listen to any of my concerns when I told her I can't take certain medications because of side effects. Why 1? ( please read about the first CORONA infection below ) I checked in quickly around 11:15. The patient care associate didn't call me in until 2:00 PM. The Poor RN was struggling to document her unfinished assessment when I whisked away to a different room and then the PA came in at past 3:00 PM. She asked me a bunch of questions and her diagnosis was either I have cancer or severe infection. She wrote a referral to see a specialist that will get me in the schedule in 2 weeks. I gave my specimen and called the specialist myself and was seen that same day. The specialist at Sinai outpatient told me I may have a severe infection, I said this could be wrong. I went to NYU Langone. The technologist who did my imaging said what I suspected. In other words, no more mount Sinai anything for me. Ever. They are quick to dismiss without hearing my detailed systematic symptoms. The egos are astonishing at sinai. Oh, furthermore, the first positive Corvid 19 infection is from a nurse traveling from Iran with her husband who is also an ER nurse. They were all whispering and said not to tell anything about it. Figures. I blame Dr. David L. Reich for all this hush hush. He is no better than his predecessor. They do not care about the staff and in turn they DO NOT care about the community. read more

I came in today for a routine procedure that I thought could be taken care of quickly with a walk-in at this Urgent Care. I had been here before and was in and out relatively quickly in relation to previous reviews. I was taken care of by wonderful nurses and doctors today and that is why I am giving the 3 stars. The reason I am not giving 5 was because of the roller coaster ride the front desk put me through regarding my insurance. I emailed in my copy of my insurance card and was taken back and put in an examination room. When the nurse was doing my intake, she informed me that my insurance card had come up as inactive and advised I call my insurance company. I knew the insurance was good for a year but after being told repeatedly to call my insurance company I did. I got confirmation that yes, my insurance was active and valid. I relayed this information and was then told that yes it was active but it was dental insurance and would not cover my visit. I negated this statement especially as I don't have dental insurance and have always paid out of pocket for dental visits and procedures. I was then told to call my insurance company again to confirm that the insurance I had was in fact regular health insurance. My nurse told me that as we had already started my visit I should call after the procedure was finished, as I would be billed no matter what. As I was waiting for the doctor to come in, I heard one of the front desk attendants mocking the fact that I had seemingly tried to use dental insurance for an urgent care visit. This greatly upset me but I sat through the rest of the visit. I came out to the waiting room fully intending to call my insurance company again and put them on the phone with the front desk in order to prove that yes, my insurance card was valid, and yes, it was not dental insurance. However, when I came out and said I would do this I was told that they had "fixed" it. No apology for making me think that I would have to pay a large bill for a procedure that my very active insurance covered. I don't know what happened today but I do know that I was belittled and made to feel like I did not know what I was talking about. I know my insurance, I am very aware of my insurance. I recently had to come here and it was recommended by a neighbor. I read the reviews before going and was concerned. Turns out, this place is pretty good and if I had to, I'd go again. The receptionist was initially a little rough even though few people were there. However, I was processed quickly and seen by a very nice doctor and two very pleasant nurse practitioners, who took care of my issue. Mt. Sinai is 1/3 of the NYC hospital system. I've often found their facilities to be a little in need of a good cleaning and this place was certainly not pristine but it was efficient and a good experience and I'd go here again before heading to a City MD. read more

Best kept secret on the Upper West Side. I've had chronic back pain for a long time. It's only when I can't get out of bed that presents a problem. I had to take some strong pain meds to get to work. I was afraid that the health care office would be busy, so I hopped on the crosstown bus to get to this place. And I'm glad I did! Everything is new and clean -- I felt better just coming in! I was seen almost right away, after filling out some paper work. The nurse was friendly and listened to my concerns. I was in pain, after all. She was patient and accommodating. Dr Fierstein was personable and put me at ease right away. Everything was smooth and medications were ordered through e-scripts. So convenient and fast. Oh, and comfy couches are a plus. read more

A few months ago, I started to have high fevers, chills, nausea, back and body aches, no appetite and an intermittent sense of urinary urgency. As a nurse, I figured I may have COVID and self-quarantined. I tested negative for Covid-19 at my job's testing site and decided I should get a urinalysis. Mt. Sinai Urgent Care was close to home and it was very easy to use their website to let them know you are on the way. I was the only patient on a Friday morning, so I was brought in pretty quickly. The nurse/assistant was very respectful and professional and Dr. Cicatelli had a great bedside manner. He prescribed the appropriate treatment and ordered an ultrasound to make sure he checked everything as well as a repeat COVID test (again, negative). He later called me as soon as my results were available. Another doctor from the center called me a few days letter to also give me updates about my lab results and treatment. The facility was very clean and my visit was pretty seamless. I would highly recommend this urgent care center if you want to avoid the emergency department and I would not hesitate to seek care here again. I am never going back here again, even if I get the bubonic plague and every other hospital/urgent care is closed. To be fair, even if you got the plague and came here, you'd only get a tissue and a misdiagnosis. Actually, the tissue is probably pushing it. I came here on a Friday night with a nose infection. My normal ENT was not in office (it was a Friday night) but did return my increasingly desperate calls and said I should go to an Urgent Care asap to get some heavy duty antibiotics. Alas, I chose this one. When me and my dad got there, there was a nice forty five minute wait despite there only being a woman with her sick young son checking out. The desk help was sweet but seemed so out of it, it was insane. Not the kind of help you want when you think you might be dying. In the back, I could hear people joking around. In hindsight, when the front desk offered me a lollipop because they had no Kleenex, I should have just bounced. I stayed and finally got to see the "doctor". At this point, sh*t got real. I was brought to the back and everything started out fine enough. I mentioned that due to a rhinoplasty (yeah, Yelp, I got a rhinoplasty, that's what's up) and several other factors, I was scared I had a bad nose infection. So, the "doctor", whose bed side manner wouldn't have been out of place in the lowest level of hell goes "it could be an infection but more likely your nose is collapsing." At this point, I felt real fear. I tried to find out more what she meant and she pulled up some Google pic of a nose and explained that my nose was indeed collapsing and I needed to go to the Emergency room that night. She then went to consult with a telework friend, came back, and goes "You need to go to Mount Sinai's Emergency Room right now. I spoke to my friend and your nose is caving in on itself." She recommended that I'd need surgery and a cat scan. When I asked for the antibiotics the ENT suggested I'd go to Urgent Care to get, she goes, "I'm not going to give them to you because I think you won't go to the Emergency room if I do." Who even does that? This "doctor", that's who. I finally begged my way into an antibiotics prescription before CVS closed all the while with the "doctor" telling me the entire time the danger I was in and how she never saw anything like this. Anyway, I ended up going to Mount Sinai's Emergency Room where I got zero help but TONS of bills, spent some time with a woman begging for oxy, left with my elderly parents, met with an actual doctor that Monday and--drumroll, please-it turned out that my nose was not collapsing! This review is for the office on the second floor, not the urgent care. I've had many positive visits to urgent care, and for that reason I hoped to find a PCP upstairs, just to keep most of my medical records at Mount Sinai. About a year and a half ago I made an appointment for an annual physical. The day before my appointment I was called and told the doctor was not available. Would I like to reschedule? Yes. My rescheduled appointment, which was I think about two months later than my original, was cancelled in the same fashion, the night before. They asked if I would like to see a nurse practitioner, and I agreed. While my experience was positive, I did not have a true physical. That appointment was in early 2021, so I made another appointment for this year several months ago with a doctor. Several days before my appointment I got emails prompting me to fill out forms in MyChart, and texts asking to confirm my appointment. I also got a call the morning before my appointment (today) asking to confirm. I filled out the forms, and confirmed both by text and phone. Then, this evening around 5 pm, I got yet another call, this time to cancel my appointment for 8 am tomorrow. The doctor is seeing other patients and cannot take me on as a new patient. Would I like to reschedule with the doctor for sometime in June? See a nurse practitioner? No. I asked why I was given an appointment in the first place, much less asked to confirm twice, if the doctor has no availability for me. It's because the answering service made the appointment... So the answering service just makes fake appointments for doctors that get cancelled the night before they're scheduled to occur? While I will continue to go to the urgent care here, I'm disappointed and frustrated with the lack of professionalism on the second floor and will look elsewhere to find a PCP. read more

Clean facility. Nice staff at the front desk. Nurse and MA was nice too. However, I did find it strange that I did not see a doctor for my visit. No offense to physician assistants, but when I seek medical care I at least expect to see a physician ... for at least a few minutes?! No, I wasn't dying. If I was, I would've gone to an ED. I did have severe flu-like symptoms and I have gotten pneumonia in the past. The PA kindly recommended tea and rest. Whatever, she wasn't necessarily wrong. However, when the bill came (yes, I am insured), it seemed to have been based on a physician's visit. A doctor J.Y....strange since he didn't even come in to visit me, listen to my lungs, or provide me with ANY patient education. I saw the bill and wondered "who the hell is that?!" Even if you have people working under you and you're signing off on treatment (tea or whatever) you should at least MEET the patient. That's just my thought. Not quite sure how this sort of thing goes, but would my rate be the same if I just saw a PA and not a MD? I have a lot of respect for physician assistants and nurse practitioners - I do have friends that work as both. Just weird to see a bill with someone's name that provided me with ZERO service. Upon falling ill during business travel, I had to visit an urgent care facility for treatment. I had never before been to an urgent care, but figured I would be shoved in a crowded room full of madness and sick people. Upon arriving, I heard one of the secretaries say they were short staffed that day, so I figured "Oh great. The doctor will probably see me for 15 seconds, throw some medicine my way and run me out the door." While the nurse who first saw me probably had never won any "friendly" awards, she was pleasant pleasant enough. Dr. Irani, however, was wonderful. She was kind, personable and took her time. She asked questions, listened to what I had to say and provided answers without acting annoyed and without trying to rush me out the door. In fact, once I told her I was from out of town, she gave me a few suggestions for things I could do nearby while waiting for my prescription to be filled. Also - there's a pretty breath-taking skyline view from the rooms. I most likely won't be back in this neck of the woods and need urgent care (knock on wood) but if I do - I'd without a doubt go back to this location. read more

I like Dr. Lamb she is in the know about skin and I feel more excited because, she is a woman of color and has different suggestions or methods best for me as a fellow "brown" woman. On 4 of July my 3 year old, had a pretty bad accident and I rushed him over here. Since we live in he area, I figured it was quicker to get him here than a full sized hospital with an emergency room which the closest is a mile away. I was amazed by how friendly and courteous the whole staff was.. My little boy ended up with 10 stitches in his hand.. And his doctor was great and pretty reassuring to me in this situation.. They answered all my questions, and never made me feel rushed. The medical assistant was also great, he had to help hold down a strong 3 year old who didn't want to get sown up.. We were in and out within an hour I believe.. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who needs health services fast! They take great care of you! And they do it fast! I went with my my son for possible fracture. Front desk not very friendly nor informative. Never saw an MD not even for a few mins. No boot was given to my child to ease walking- Also no follow-up on definitive R-ray results from Radiology Dept. Would have given it two stars but the PA and Tech were really sweet. read more
