How does this only have 3 reviews??? This is a must-see for anyone remotely in the area. It's totally worth a day trip from the city. The view is stunning! There are also a few places to park on the side of the road on the drive up with great sights as well. You can drive or hike up, but note that some mornings there are certain hours for just hikers, so visit the website to double check hours ahead of time if you plan to drive up. There are also no restrooms, so plan a pit stop before heading up if anyone in your party is potty training or has a small bladder. I highly recommend! read more

A beautiful open range to drive through and see wild buffalo, longhorn, coyote, otters, etc and the landscape is definitely something to behold but I have to say I'm really disappointed that the mountain is closed and has been for sometime. I would contact the visitor center to see if the mountain is open before you take time to go out of your way to see this place. There is not much to do for site seeing in Lawton, Oklahoma but Mount Scott is a must do attraction that should top anyone's list. The first part of the early morning is only for non-vehicles. Later in the morning vehicles are allowed. There is winding scenery from the top to bottom while taking the drive. I admit it was a little intimidating when going up the mountain side but it was all worth it once you reach the top. There are side pockets as you go up the winding road in the event you want to pull over for pictures. If you strive to reach the top you will encounter a parking lot for you to leave your vehicle for an amazing 360 view of the cities. This is just one of the amazing wonders you will encounter when visiting the Wichita Refuge. If your someone who loves amazing views or challenges, this is a must do option. Enjoy. read more
