During a shift, I was overloaded and overwhelmed and they were understaffed (as always) and it affects the care of the residents. However, I was still providing great care throughout the day when a staff member Kelly became disrespectful by trying to berate me about "her grandmother not having a shower for a month and having on the same clothes for 3 days"! Again, I work agency, so I am unaware of the lack of care given previous to picking up shifts! My assignment was changed 3x between 9am & 1pm that day! I was put on the DNR list after my shift...Maybe because the exchange happened in the hallway when I asked her how she let her grandmother go so long without a shower. Her being an employee and family member of the company I felt that was a valid question to ask her...
I worked agency for close to 2yrs there. I was considered "a favorite" because I delivered excellent care to the residents and I was respectful and respected by staff, family & visitors.
There are some caring staff left to genuinely look after the residents but the unprofessional individuals are creating a complacent environment which affects the motivation for staff to stay. The low pay rate and lack of incentives have also created a low retention rate. Beware of becoming an employee in this beautiful architectural building because the internal parts can creates stressed overworked and underpaid staff overall! Most of the staff is from an agency because the pay rate is higher! The lack thereof is affecting resident care and that is why there has been a recent stream of truthful low reviews for this place. read more
