She is a remarkable child with immense talent and potential, but I wanted to ensure she received the best education possible. What I love most about this school is its model and unwavering support for students who require special education. The overall culture, talent, and leadership at Rising Stars are truly outstanding. I know it's to fight against gangs or whatever but like, it is an elementary school???? No one is gangbanging at 3rd grade. Second, the school lunches sucked, like really sucked, they all tasted bad except for the pizza. Everything but 2 lunches taste bad in my new school, and i can just get a second option. Third, the teachers, only a few were ok, the rest were not, but one specific P.E coach threatened to break my finger. Im no Saul Goodman but i think its a crime to threaten a minor. when i was like in 3rd-4th grade. same coach also did not appreciate how i did cursive, a useless skill. WHEN I WAS IN LEARNING LAB! SHE DOESNT EVEN TEACH THERE! MIND YOUR DAMN BUSINESS LADY! While on the topic of the learning lab, all of those teachers sucked. Don't even need to elaborate. Field trips next, these were one of the only good parts about the school. Science camp in Livermore was cool and so was the one in Saratoga i think. Great america was also cool.

Not just academically but also when it comes to kindness, love, care, and character building for all the children modeled by teachers and staff. Even though it is not a religious school, I feel there are more love and compassion in this school more than any other religious place I've been to. Everyone, the principle, teachers, staff, students, fellow parents, all are so caring and making every member of the school feel so special and loved. Children need love! I feel so good dropping Jake's off each day at school and he loves going to school so much! Alexander keeps saying how come Jake's school is so cool and all Jake's teachers love him so much!! They also organize a lot of cool events. They want the children to be well rounded. The school relies heavily on staff and parent volunteers since it does not have much funding and it serves mostly low income students. Yet everyone serves with all their heart !! Still contemplating on moving Alexander over to Jake's school. ROMO with all our hearts!!

Aahh.. memories…read more. My old stomping ground. I was a student here from grade K-5th! Had a play date and decided to take the kids here because originally the plan was for them to play basketball; since the courts are suitable for their height (obviously much shorter than the actual courts), I figured this place is the perfect place to introduce my Daughter to the sport. I was in track, orchestra, played basketball, soccer, tetherball, dodgeball, kickball, and football throughout my wonderful 6 years here. My Daughter hasn't really shown much interests in sports but I do hope she gets into one of the above mentioned activities. What I love about this school is the spacious play area.. the playground is of course new and way better than what it used to be a million years ago. The green board for 7-Up (the throwing the blue rubber ball or tennis ball at your ass) is still standing talk and well maintained (clean).. the field is well kept and I love the track for field day. I was always 1st place and the anchor for relay races.. nostalgic memory orgasm!!! There is enough sitting space, shade, and play area to satisfy the kids and ME while I witness them run back and forth, clearly enjoying the weather, the pleasant atmosphere, the cleanliness of the school overall, and the best years of my life all flashing back to me. I love this school.. go Leopards!!!!

Kinda hard to grade a Elementary school on yelp but I did come here to get some info before my son…read morestarted school here. Being a PTA Member and a School Site Council member it's only fitting I drop a review. Laneview hasn't changed much from the way you look at it but it has changed over the last 10 years. The school rating score has changed to an 8 from a 6 as it was in the past. This means the school is in an upper class for testing scores and education learning. These tests are done across the district and state. What drove this change was time with new leadership during that time. The school is in a 2nd year leader with a proven principal who is very compassion to students, staff and their learning. Pros: * Staff: They're great and i'm not being bias. When I tell others about the stuff they do I hear "I wish my school did that".. From the front office to teachers and others they're very caring * Scores: As mentioned above the school is an 8 for testing scores which is upper reserved compared to most others in Berryessa and/or San Jose. *Parents: Many volunteer daily, weekly and monthly. From the adult staff out in the walkways to ensure safety, to those helping out after school, PTA Functions/Meetings and School Site Council meetings. The Parents really make it up for a budget shortfall to help fund supplies for teachers/class, field trips, assemblies and others. With only 400/430 kids you'd think they're would be some 100+ Parents, nope. Core group of 20 in total who volunteer and attending meetings to help. THEY NEED MORE! Monthly PTA meetings are 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7-8pm on campus. Please come and attend. School Site council meetings are the hour before which is 6-7pm which is a listen in session with the principal to know more on the budget, lesson plans, etc. You can look up the PTA information from their facebook page "laneview pta" * Playground: The school got a facelift in the playground area with all new gear 2 years ago. The grounds are large for play area with plenty of field area. Off school hours they hose soccer games and others. Cons: * Funding: They don't get much. If it wasn't for being a Title 1 School they'd further behind. A Local measure a few years ago is helping out the the school is set for a mild remodel in classroom later next summer (2017). Solar panels just added. * Facility: Many of the rooms are needing some updates and scheduled to get later in 2017 summer.

I had scheduled my dmv test on the 14th sept 8 am early morning and was expecting a friend of mine…read moreto take me to the dmv in his car. He backed out at the very last moment, a day before the test and I had no clue how am I going to give the dmv test. I thought of postponing the date but there were no available dates in the coming month or two. So I called up a couple of driving schools near me hoping somebody will be open in the late hours of evenings and hopefully I'll find some instructor who can take me in his car. A few of them didnt pick up and then I found Stratford and spoke to Jenny who owns the driving school and she agreed to take me to the test. I found out that Jenny had also trained one of my close friend and helped him pass the test a year back. And my friend had recommend her for the driving classes. She picked me up at 7 in the morining and took me for an hour before the dmv test and trained me for the test, rectified my mistakes, gave me a guideline especially the do's and don'ts on the dmv test, what I liked about her was she knew all the routes for the dmv test in all the DMV test centers in the bay area. She took me on the test route right before the test and showed me all the possible mistakes and critical errors where I can go wrong at the san jose dmv test route, because san jose dmv route is not that straight forward and there are some places on the test route where you will definately make mistakes if you are going for the first time or if you dont know the route well. If not for her I would not have cleared the test. This was my 3rd time giviing the behind the wheel test and I had lost all hopes and confidence as I used to always end up making some critical mistakes. But Jenny helped me alot, told me exactly what to do for all the critical points on the san jose dmv route. What was surprising to me was Jenny knows most of the staff members and test examiners at the dmv, may be because she has been an instructor in the bay area for a very long time. When she told my test examiner that I am decent in driving, I knew that I have won half the battle and I got some hopes of passing the test this time. This is for people like me who have failed multiple times and have lost all hopes. The test examiner took me on the exact same route and I knew all the points which she is testing me for and how to avoid doing any critical errors and I came back home this with my driving license ;) Thanks Jenny was helping me fine tune my driving at the very last moment and giving me the confidence to pass the test. I have been trying to get my license for over 3-4 months now and failed several times. I would highly recommend Jenny as she is pretty good in training.

Being from a left driving country, I had very limited driving experience in USA. Right from scheduling for lessons to actual driving, she was very professional. Once I started taking driving lessons with Jenny, she understood my situation and gave me specific exercises that helped me to resolve by mistakes. Only an experienced instructor can anticipate patterns in one's driving based on prior driving condition. Always on time, she was very proactive in her approach. The car was clean and in good condition. Although it was not needed for the test, she took me to the freeway and helped me get more confidence with fast moving traffic. I never felt that I was taking any risk while taking lessons. Her instructions were clear and very helpful. In fact, unlike many other driving schools, she spoke English perfectly; which I think is very important. With my driving experience, I was confident that I couldn't pass the test. Thanks to Jenny, I cleared my behind the wheel test in first attempt from Santa Clara DMV! I recommend Stratford Driving School to all my friends and students at Santa Clara University.
