My son and I stopped here to see Wild Bills and calamity James graves on our way from Rapid City to Yellowstone. The entry fee is $2 pp and they give you a map and description of the interesting plots. It's pretty hilly especially if you want to see Seth Bullock. Parking is limited if crowded. Restrooms and vending machines available at the entrance. Well kept. I may not return but it was cool to see the old graves.

Up the hill from downtown Deadwood, SD is a quaint cemetery where you can find Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickok. The cemetery is well maintained. It is almost too maintained. Many of the old tombstones have been replaced with new ones. Still debating how I feel about it. I love old cemeteries with the old tombstones. On one hand, it is good to know who is buried where. On the other hand, it loses that older charm. Make your own decision and visit Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Get ready to walk uphill! A lot! We didn't stay too long because of the intense walk up the hill. We checked out Wild Bills gravestone and by it had a lot of interesting things people left, like change, rocks, and bullets. That was the best part to me

I wanted to visit Seth Bullock too, but his location seemed awfully uphill for this Florida gal.

I missed seeing the flags on every gravesite this Memorial Day, but maybe because of that I noticed…read moresomething extraordinary: The flowers. There were so many of these sites filled with flowers and memorials. Even the columbarium. And the people. On this overcast, cold, blustery day, people were everywhere early. At a time of day many are just getting up to begin their day, dozens and dozens more were here, remembering someone. Extraordinary. And the crowds of people never let up. The cars were backing up outside the gate. This national cemetery is off the interstate and easily visible from it. The white markers leave no doubt. Despite that, it's very quiet. Other than the flags blowing in the wind and the occasional startup of a car, no extraneous noises took away from the sheer magnitude of what this place represents. Within this approximately 110 acre cemetery is a special memorial to Korean War veterans, and another for Vietnam War veterans. As always, everything is impeccably maintained. Although there is no dedicated honor guard for military burials at this location, there are some honor guards in the nearby area, who will work with the families. I really have to applaud So.Dakota. The non-cooperative weather didn't stop the residents or the visitors. There were more flowers and memorials than I have ever seen on any of the Memorial Day visits to other national cemeteries. I think that speaks volumes for the community and the way they honor those buried here.

Absolutely beautiful national cemetary. The military services are an amazing and respectful tribute…read moreto our family members that served our country.
