Guess what Cincinnati? There are hidden pools all around the city and they are only $2 a day or $35 for a yearly pass. The reason the prices are so low? Because of the amazing Cincinnati Recreation Commission's commitment to bringing awesomeness to the city! A year ago they were in serious trouble and almost had to close all of the pools because of lack of funding. Honestly I think it's because no one knows they are out there!! I have been coming to the CRC pools all around the city, mostly this one and the Oakley one for about four years now and yesterday when I came back all of my friends saw my swimsuit and screamed out, "OMG What pool were you at?!! I have been looking for a pool forever. Did you have to sneak in? Or go with a member?" The answer my friends is no! Like I said before its $2 a day and it's good for any of the CRC pools. Same goes for the membership. The reason I LOVE this Mt. Adams Pool is because there is never anyone here! It's super quiet, surrounded by trees. It's quiet serene and as much as I love kids, I like that this place is almost always void of children. I come here, grab one of their awesome lounge chairs and work on my computer. The life guards are really friendly! I hope that you will try out the CRC pools are support them. Here are the full listing of pools in the area: http://www.cincinnati-oh.gov/recreation/pools-aquatics/ See you this Summer!

SWIMMERS BEWARE. UC…read moreRec is a world class facility, and I have been a community member [read: ADULT with ADULT schedule] for several years mainly for the joy of swimming in the natatorium. So, what's your two-star beef, lady? I swim long distances. I prefer deeper lanes for cooler water temperature and less turbulence. In order to ensure that I will procure my preferred lanes, I check the Aquatics Department's calendar and schedule my swims when the calendar states that 10 lanes will be available for lap swimming. A month ago, I was asked to vacate my lane and squeeze into one of the 5 shallow lanes in order to make room for a community swim team that had reserved the deeper lanes for their practice. Check my math here, but I think the calendar should have reflected that only 5 lanes were available at the time of the reservation. (As a side note, why does the team's reservation (or revenue) trump my monthly membership fee?). I left the Aquatics director a message to this effect. No call back. Fool me once. The same thing happened again today. Fool me twice, shame on me. There will be no third time. I've already cancelled my membership, as I indicated that I would in my message for the Aquatics Director. I will join a facility that values my time, schedule, and membership, in part, by keeping an accurate calendar. However, if you are ok with this type of shoddy operations' management, UC Rec is a fabulous place.

What a beautiful facility!! I come here to practice with the UC water polo team and my masters…read morewater polo team. I mainly use its aquatics facility and this is a full size 50 meter Olympic pool that can also be turned around and used as 25 yards. I unfortunately do not use the other aspects of the recreation center because I'm not a UC student but I highly recommend the pool. If you are into swimming, there is also a masters team to join. They have a great jacuzzi afterwards and a huge diving well. Thanks for reading, go make a slash! ;)
