Quality Auto Truck and Tire - Nicest bathroom I have ever seen at a business!

Quality Auto Truck and Tire

This place saved the day! My car wouldn't start on a Friday morning and I called several mechanics…read moreto get a feel for my options. All of them told me they couldn't even look at the car until the following week. I called Quality and they said, "we don't play games, we can look at it today." Music to my ears! They helped me get a tow, suggested I talk to my insurance about reimbursement for the tow (good call, I can submit for a reimbursement!), looked at AND fixed the car on the same day. The prices were reasonable especially for the amount of work that was done and how quickly they did it. They even had to go pick up a special part for my car. Their communication and customer service is the best I've ever received from a auto shop. To top it off, they gave me a little bit of a discount off my total bill which was a nice surprise. I'm relieved to have found a good shop in my new area. Thanks everyone!

I went for a ride to pass time. then I waited another 45 minutes. they gave me some song and dance of it being a hard install. apparently me being a woman, shouldn't know any better. but I do know better. they were just doing other things before mine, and then at 12:30...they break for lunch and pretty much tell you to go screw until they are done. I used someone else previously, and sorry I didn't go back there. this place also gave me one price over phone, and then it was more when I went to go pay.

I've been to Amwell Auto twice, my husband a few times as well, and have always been pleased with…read moretheir service. I got a flat tire as I pulled into my driveway after work and since it was about 4:50pm I didn't think I could resolve my issue that evening. My first call was to AAA who sent out Stewarts Towing for a quick swap onto my donut (in under 30 minutes they arrived and completed the job). My second call was to Amwell Auto, I explained the situation and Jack advised to come in when they opened the next day (7:30) so they could plug my tire. I arrived at 7:30, Jack was there, took my car, inspected the tire and considering the wear recommended two new tires on the back. Honest customer service, expert service, and fair price. I will go back anytime I run into an issue I need someone I trust to help resolve. Other reviews here suggest that this company tries to pull the wool over the eyes of young women. Being one myself, I did not feel that way at all. Their advice to replace the tires was a smart one (you shouldn't replace one, its wiser and safer to replace both at the same time; I knew the wear was going to be an issue soon considering my service records), and their price was far below what I would have gotten if I brought this into my dealer's service station (where I get regular oil changes). Bottomline: If you live in Hillsborough, or the town is part of your commute to work, give Amwell Auto a try and tell Jack I sent you. If you choose to wait while work is being done, you can walk to a bagel shop in the adjacent shopping mall or a Starbucks across Route 206.

When talking to the owner/mechanic he informed him he thought the starter needed to be replaced. The next day the owner called saying that he changed the starter, and burned it up while trying to start the vehicle. He also tried with a crowbar to turn the engine and it wouldn't turn, that it was metal on metal and locked up. So he diagnosed the engine was ceased up. He wanted us to give him the title so that he could scrap the car in payment for the work and time he had put into the car. My husband said he needed a day or so to decide. I talked to a mechanic friend of mine, and he was interested in the vehicle as he has a good motor that he can install in my vehicle. So we told my friend he could have it as long as he worked out a payment with L & S for the work that they had done. I turned in the plates, so that I could take the insurance off the vehicle. Several days later my friend towed the vehicle to a work area, and on inspecting it found the starter to never having been touched. He also grabbed the main serpentine belt and turned the engine over one revolution, by hand. He proceeded to install a new starter, and the engine started right up and has been working perfectly fine since. This shop has two certified experienced professional mechanics. Either this shop is the most incompetent ever, or they are committing fraud and possible theft by deception. I recommend everyone stay away from this place.
