Went out to my car on a lovely Saturday morning only to find that my battery was dead. I was parked…read moreon Downview Road... no one else seemed to have jumper cables (I asked the passers-by), so I went over to Cartech to ask for some help. He was super busy (and not normally open on Saturdays), but let me use his jumper - off I went and started my car up. I drove around for 40+ minutes only to find that the car still wasn't starting that well - so I dropped my car back to Cartech so that they could replace the battery. It did turn out to only be the battery (they did a full check just to make sure) and off I went 75 quid later with a working vehicle. They were friendly and, I felt, reasonably-priced (though I did only need a battery). The fact that they helped me out when I needed it most (while they weren't even open) was the nicest part of this group of guys. I'd suggest checking them out if you need any car repairs.

AVOID!!!! I went in for the first time to have my air conditioning re-gassed. No problem. I later…read morehad an issue with my brakes. Took it in and they gave me a quote for £600 saying it needs rear brake pipes, all discs and pads. That was Nov 2016. Took the car home then discovered they do drive now pay later (but was not offered it) which worked out good for me. Took it back in Jan 2017 and had the brake pipes done. This time the guy got quite nasty saying it's got new brake pads on it and I should not have done that!! I explained to him that actually it had been sitting on the drive for 2 months. He didn't believe me and said I have had someone fit new brake pads on the car. So how come 2 months ago they were worn down completely and now they're "new". I call bullsh*t! So I will no longer take my car back there. I have had a proper mechanic look at it this week and confirm that halfords had lied to me and that it does not need brake pads or brake discs and halfords also told me it would fail it's m.o.t in April with the brakes the way they are. This was also confirmed to be a lie. Please try to avoid this place and if you must go there don't take any sh*t from the pheasant on the front desk.
