In Sarasota, about 2.5 miles from the entrance ramp and in the middle of pitch black sky on a Friday night. Yep, that's what happened to us. We have AAA, Progressive Insurance Roadside Assistance, plus are staring at the Road Ranger FHP sign. Call all 3 for assistance. AAA says someone will be out in 1.5 hours. I explained that we were on the shoulder and not in a safe location. 10:25 pm they say, someone will be out here. 4 phone calls later, our ticket never is identified as a safety issues and is bummed to a 4:44 AM Saturday expected time of arrival. We don't have enough gas to stay on the road all night. Progressive identifies our location as in Bushnell Florida, which is over 110 miles from us. When I call to correct their information, they reassure me that it has been corrected and the ticket is being assigned to someone. 20 minutes later, now looking at 11:40pm, a tow truck from Bushnell contacts me and says they are nearby. When I clarify that we are in Sarasota, they ask that we cancel our roadside assistance ticket! REally?!?! FHP informs us at 10:40pm that Road Rangers are closed at this hour and they will send an FHP trooper to assist. NONE ever shows up. No trooper, no roadside assistance from three different programs! What is going on? In fact, none of the roadside agents even bother to call us back. THREE hours on the side shoulder, traffic zooming by so fast that our car shakes from the wind velocity. We have a spare, but the two of the nuts on the tire are stripped. We need help. Here comes Brian from Florida Tow, pulls over, with his tow truck, light flashing. Asks us not to get out for the highway is too busy and says he will change the tire for us. Takes out all the necessary equipment and even shows my husband the stripped nuts, so our mechanic can replace. This man worked quietly and professionally without asking for any information from us. He truly was an angel to us and we will always remember his kindness. We were so worried, and unsure of what he was doing. We asked him. His answer was "I cannot leave you on the side of the road like this". He asked for nothing in return. NOTHING, and gave me his first name and cell phone, so I could send him my AAA information. Really amazing. Restores your faith in mankind and not once did we feel anything but gratitude for Brian. GREAT PROFESSIONAL and COMPANY. We certainly need more Brian's in our lives and in this area!

Yadi (sp?)--the tow operator--was extremely personable, professional, and skilled. She handled my vehicle with real care and consideration. The only issue was the pricing. I agreed to a tow at a much lower rate than what TBB later billed me. I sincerely hope this was simply a miscommunication between dispatchers and not a bait-and-switch tactic. In my opinion, they should have honored the price I was quoted from AK and addressed any difference directly with the company they partner with.

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Unprofessional Tow Service and Damage to Motorcycle…read more Dear [Company Name/Manager], I am writing to formally express my concern and dissatisfaction regarding the towing service I received on the morning of October 23, 2025, at approximately 6:30 AM. I had contacted your company for assistance with towing my motorcycle, clearly stating the nature of the vehicle and my location. While I appreciated the prompt dispatch, the experience that followed was highly unprofessional and concerning: Appearance and Conduct of the Tow Operator: The individual who arrived was dressed in ill-fitting clothing that exposed his lower abdomen and backside and was wearing Crocs, attire that does not reflect the professionalism expected from a reputable service provider. Improper Handling of the Motorcycle: The operator took photos of my motorcycle but then asked me to push the 400+ lb bike onto the truck myself. I was also asked to stand on the truck bed and hold the bike in place while he adjusted the bed, despite the bike not being secured. This posed a serious safety risk. Unclear Payment Process: When I inquired about payment, the operator was unsure and had to make a phone call. I was later told I would receive a text message, which added to my concern about the legitimacy of the service. Damage to the Motorcycle: Upon delivery, my wife observed that the bike had already been unloaded before the operator knocked on the door. She immediately noticed visible scratches. When I returned home after my 12-hour nursing shift, I was shocked to find extensive damage that had not been present prior to the tow. This includes: Multiple scratches along the right side A visibly compressed gas tank, likely from improper tie-down Misaligned components This motorcycle is brand new with only 300 miles on it. Prior to the tow, it had only a minor scratch on the tailpipe and a missing bolt cover, both of which were documented. The damage incurred during the tow is significant and has rendered the bike unsafe to ride. I have made multiple attempts to speak with a manager and have repeatedly told him they are unavailable. I was also informed that your company has photos showing damage, which I find misleading given the bike's pristine condition before the tow. I am requesting: A formal investigation into this incident A direct conversation with a manager or owner Compensation for the damage, to be determined by an estimate from the dealership where the bike was purchased As a nurse and sole provider for my family, I rely on my motorcycle for transportation. This situation has caused undue stress and hardship. If this matter is not resolved promptly and professionally, I will escalate it through all available channels. Sincerely, Tera M.
