This was my first foray into a baby emporium, and I was astonished at how much kit is necessary for those little bundles of joy. Normally if I have to buy anything for a forthcoming family addition, I just go to the baby section of a TK Maxx or Debenhams.
My line manager was readying for the exciting adventure that is paternity leave, so a few of the office ladies and I went to this massive Mothercare on Newport Road to secure a range of items for his new daughter's big baby basket.
We found everything we needed to give her a proper welcome: toys, dummies, sleep sets, nappy wipes, and books. Mothercare also offers a wide selection of pushchairs, car seats, cots, and high chairs - basically anything baby-related can be found here (including a terrifying contraption called a breast pump, which I had heard about but never saw in real life).
This branch also boasts late opening hours and a large car park right outside its doors, making it much a more convenient location than the Mothercare in the town centre. read more
