After 3 weeks of being without my machine, I got it back only to find out it was not working. I knew within the first few stitches something was terribly wrong with my machine. Luckily, I had found Eastex when I was "window" shopping for a new model ( the 3 weeks were torture!). I called on a Saturday afternoon and he was able to take my machine in that day. He stated even though I had already had a maintenance, he was still going to take her apart as he likes to be sure the machine was services properly. On Monday he called to let me know it was ready for pickup (even though closed on Monday's he was at the shop) and that there were some alarming evidence the other repair shop may not have been qualified to work on my machine (which I suspected when I tried to use it after getting it back!) Lesson learned - research your repair shop/technician. How long have they been in business, reviews online, certified technician, etc. I'm so glad I found Eastex and Michael (owner). He is extremely knowledgeable, second generation in the business and was a pleasure to deal with. I already have it on my calendar to schedule my 2026 annual maintenance with him in 8 months because he does do house calls, but they book up fast! Don't hesitate to use this shop for any repair or maintenance needs. When it's time for a new model, I'll be purchasing from him.

I already have experience in lashing but I felt as if this wasn't right; Miss K had never seen me lash before nor demonstrated lashes in front of me beforehand. Secondly, almost every day, she had us walking around the parking lot of our school and passing out business cards for HER school to help her advertise HER business. Another thing was that she didn't have any supplies for me to use for her program, (she had one pack of classic lashes & some strip glue) so I had to use my own personal supplies whenever she'd bring a client in. And the days I didn't have a client, I was just sitting around on my phone, not doing anything. After a month, I asked her if there was any way I could check my hours as I had been going up there every week day for that month, and she said no. She then told me that it was solely my responsibility to keep track of my hours because "all of us are grown adults with our own lives. i don't got time to keep track of your hours". At that point, I was fed up; the lack of structure, support, education, and professionalism were already enough but I thought I could at least stick it out just to get my hours. She also still had the nerve to bother my mother and I about the monthly tuition payment. Why would I pay you to just basically work for you? Even when I tried enrolling into a new school, Miss K still became a problem. 5 or 6 months after I stopped going to her school, she still had me enrolled into her program which prevented me from enrolling into another program. My mother and I were calling her school for a month trying to get her to unenroll me from her program and the whole time, she kept avoiding us and having her daughter answer the phone and keep giving us the same excuses. Things only changed when we told her we were going to have to report her to TDLR. It's also come to my attention recently too that when I stopped attending her school, Miss K was telling the students I left because "I had poor performance with clients when doing their lashes". While enrolled (for 2-4 months last 2024 spring), I was her only student until her son arrived. She appeared to try and matchmake me with him (unbeknownst to me). i told her how he made me feel uncomfortable with the things he's said about the "happy endings" i told her that he said he wanted to give his potential clients, for or against their will, "happy endings" during their massages and why else would he want to be an esthetician and that he want to also go to school to be a massage therapy so that can give women "happy endings." he said those things to me and the secretary (who was a recent high school graduate at the time), and how he would "touch" his clients!!!! After I told ms. d about this, she told me that because we were the only esthie students, I had no choice but to allow him to "practice" giving me facials (which included a massage). I told her that I didn't want him anywhere near me, let alone to touch me for "practice." She still allowed him to be in the class alone with me. I am a survivor of s.a., and it was very triggering and disheartening knowing that she did not address or do anything to reprimand him. She did however, deny that my story was true about the things he said. I left her school the next day. Her school is a scam and fraud because she keeps her son enrolled in the programs, such as esthetician, barber, or whatever program she has so that she can keep her credentials and scam the va and other programs for money. he really isn't a student because, on the rare occassion that ms.d would come in the class and discuss a worksheet or book, he would be combative with her when she would ask him to read or discuss what was read. as i mentioned, i never had a teacher, and whenever she did come into class, it was to discuss everything except esthetics. Because I left her unqualified school prematurely, I had to pay back my money to the va, and this evil, lying, malicious lady put a false report on my credit report. I do not owe her anything. She actually owes me because I gave her registration money from my own pocket. she has not paid me back, but she is claiming that I owe her. My tuition was completely paid by the va, and she is fraudulently saying that I owe her. The stress that this woman and her son have caused me has been overwhelming. her school is a scam!!!!! If you are not a va student and are paying out of pocket, she will make sure that you owe her more money before you graduate. She will not release your credits hours to (tdlr) so that you can take your test or practical. my first week there, there was a graduating student that paid out of pocket. that student was a Spanish student. She made that girl do things that I have not seen at other schools. She practiced discriminatory prejudices toward her. When I brought it to ms. d attention about her mistreatment of that student, she said something to the effect of her having to the double the work because she's Spanish. I said, but the work has already been overwhelming why did she have to do double and that it's unfair!!! she brushed it off. I still communicate with that student, and as of today, with all of the money she's paid to the school, all of the double work she completed, ms. d has yet to release her credit hours so that she could take her exam and practical. That student just changed career goals and that sucked. Do not go to this school for a career, and if you go as a potential client, she will double charge you for services!!! do not go here unless you want to be scammed out of money, time, and made to feel uncomfortable with her illegal practices of racial discrimination and sexually inappropriate conduct by her oldest son. I have evidence to support these claims. She is wrong!!! She is a scam artist, and her school needs to be shut down immediately!!!!
