The hotel is close to the U-Bahn stop (an easy walk from the Wettersteinplatz station and within a few feet of the under-street walking tunnel). The hotel is exceptionally clean and contemporary in decor. The staff members are amazingly helpful (They even assisted us in making online reservations for a bus tour to Neuschwanstein and Linderhoff Castles using their hotel-owned computers and tablets). Free WiFi.
The breakfast buffet is very good with a nice variety of breads, rolls, croissants, meats, cheeses, muesli yogurt and fruits. There are several self-service coffee machines with espresso, cappuccino, hot chocolate and caffe latte. There are self-service juice machines too. The breakfast room staff were friendly and efficient.
This was my first experience with the Motel One chain. I stayed for a week during the Christmas holidays. I was quite pleased and I will stay at Motel One again in the future. The only negative comment is that the rooms do not have any telephones, nor is there a house phone available for guests to make local calls. There is no way to contact the front desk from within the hotel room. (What would happen in an emergency??). On a positive note: The staff member at the front desk kindly allowed me to use the cordless phone from the reception desk to make a couple of local calls. Although I have a cell phone, I do not have an international calling plan. I expected to be able to make local calls from within my hotel room and I was surprised that there were no phones inside the guest rooms.
The rate was reasonable too. read more
