I shared it with my family and we ended up staying in 5 of the 9 rooms. Each room was delightfully decorated and spotlessly clean. The common area was perfect for our family to visit each other. The provided snacks and drinks was a huge plus. It is on the second floor and there are stairs but they are not steep. There are also frequent trains but no one seemed bothered by them. Upon getting in the room 318 my wife went into the bathroom and there was a roach crawling on the floor, she yelled at me to come and kill it. We then went to bed and I woke up at 4am with bed bugs crawling on me. I knocked one off of a pillow into the toilet and killed another one on the bed. We called the front office and the lady came up to inspect it and offered to move us to another room 319 across the haul. We went in and inspected that bed and didn't see any bugs but me and my wife couldn't sleep due to feeling like bugs were on us still. I called Don the manager and he refused to give us a refund!! I have videos of the bugs and pictures. I will be spreading this all over social media in hopes people will stop staying there. That is purely unprofessional and Don needs to be removed from his management position immediately!!!

I have been staying in hotels for 25+ years and have never left a hotel immediately after check in…read more This was a first and I hope to god the last. 1) The room smelled like thick mildew so bad that I turned right around and grabbed cologne out of my car to spray in the air as I checked the place out. 2) I then noticed baseboards coming off and flys in the room but I continued. 3) I opened the fridge and seen what looked like old dried up worms, dirt, something....... And I thought man, I can maybe just ask for another room. 4) I went towards the bathroom where I started to see all these little bugs, took pics to see if they were bedbugs (still not sure) and I literally turned around and ran out the door! 5) Went to the lobby, explained to the gm what happened and he looked as horrified as me. He quickly refunded me and let me leave. 6) idk what to say about this other than I know staffing shortages make "standards" slip a little but to miss the things above..:.... Not ok. I am so thankful I am on a business trip and not with my wife and 3 kids! 7) I went around the corner and found another hotel, I was so freaked out I asked them to show me the room first, if this was commonplace I was just going to sleep in my car. Customer service is awful; the manager walks around the building and stand in front of the desk with no shoes and socks off. The place smell like funky feet and old cigarettes and raid. When asking can I see the room after I was told to leave a $100 deposit and it will not be refunded until a thorough walk through is completed with the Manager, only will be refunded if the manager approve. Sure I arrived late,and the only 2 people that might have been able to help were a 19 year old front desk girl (and truly a girl without the maturity to desk with a serious mistake like this) and a senior citizen who seemed to know more about what her computer couldn't do than anything else... (Why I allowed this to happen (again vowing to never again let a client book a room for me)I had a prepaid reservation with the words, "This reservation can not be canceled" but was met with confusion when I walked in the door and approached the front Desk girl. After calls to her manager Chris and one the I had to make to 800-red-roof, because the friendly but clueless young lady 1) wouldn't take my advice and 2) didn't even know what the 800 number was!!!! In the end the Red Roof Inn didn't have a way to remedy a guaranteed yet canceled reservation leaving me high and dry at what turned into almost 4am. The sites are clean and large and semi fenced. They are level and all utilities provided. There is an enclosed dog park on premises. There are laundry facilities with many machines. It is a quiet clean place to live or just travel through. They are members of Passport America so you get an excellent break on the fee.
