We stay in a lot hotels all over the world. And I'm pretty critical…read more This was a random find for a booking to stay after a late arrival flight from PHX to MCO where we could stop on the way home to northern Alachua County from MCO. As hour from MCO, the location geographically was ideal. The area is a little seedy despite being right off the highway (we pass through here a lot and often stop in the area for coffee or to feed the wife's fries addiction. The moment we drove into the parking lot we breathed a collective sigh of relief. It immediately felt safer. The parking lot is well lit. Despite some bonehead parking (especially this one AW from Georgia essentially occupying 4 spaces with his pickup truck, we found some parking right near the front. We entered the lobby and it got even better. Angie at the front desk was bright and cheery to match the lobby. There was a particularly significant lit up lobby (in a very positive way). The lobby is purposefully decorated in a modern/-ish way with lots of room to sit, plug in (charge), or unplug. The style is not my taste but I don't ding them for not matching my style - it looked clean, spacious, and bright. Back to Angie, she ticked all the hotel checkin boxes, even at 1am. She handed me my DL and credit card back instead of obnoxiously putting them on the counter for me to peel off. She was friendly, recognized my status (and didn't sound phony), asked me which floor I wanted, and on and on. Yet it was quick/efficient. She handed me my key with a small piece of paper with an amenity agenda - a list of things (laundry, breakfast, pool, exercise room, etc) with the hours. Nice touch, HIE WW. We joked about the oddball WiFi password and we went off to sleep. The room is spacious, the price reasonable, and everything from the entry to the room appeared clean as a whistle. Other employees we encountered were friendly and everyone smiled. We're we in Niceville? I went back to tell Angie we appreciated the great checkin experience and then I snuck a cup of coffee (it was hot at 1am-ish). Breakfast was standard HIE fare heavy carb and non-veg) but appeared fresh. The dining room has lots of space. The coffee was hot - again! I hold a grudge against IHG for 2 big reasons despite spending thousands and thousands with them over the years but I have to call a rock a rock - this is a nice, clean, midrange hotel and a fresh HIE, complete with Angie at reception.

Thank God for Comfort Inn !!…read more It it wasn't for them I wouldn't be able to charge my car ! There is a dearth of chargers in The Villages area. I guess people here don't believe in electric cars lol ! Anyhoo ... Here I am .... First time I've used any charger in Florida since I've moved here. As you can tell the car has been sitting & waiting until I got all its appropriate registration car details in order. This is quite the process ! Pretty fast chargers so far ! Obviously I will be back !

I say that because it was not dirty, but on stepping into our room we were greeted with a strong musty odor that assaulted my allergies. I called the front desk and they quickly switched us to another room. The new one had a dehumidifier running. The towels were like cardboard, the shower water got nice and hot, and the complimentary breakfast was enough (waffles, scrambled and hard-boiled eggs, bacon, bread, mini muffins, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, apple and orange juice, dry cereals, and grits). We booked online for $159 for a Saturday night. I saw the rate $11 cheaper a few days before our trip. But couldn't change the reservation. When we checked out, we got charged the lower rate. But we already had been billed for the higher rate. So, I will have to dispute the charges with the credit card company. Would we stay here again? Yes, probably. It's not worth the price but I guess we are paying for the location.

The rooms are pretty basic and could use an update but you can't beat the location and view. They do have a restaurant downstairs but they don't serve breakfast. There's a pool, hot tub and exercise room on site. The front desk staff are super nice and helpful. I liked all the text updates they send. The front desk even called us to check on how we were doing mid week. My only complaint is that the walls are extremely thin. Luckily it seems that most the patrons seem to sleep early.

There isn't a complimentary breakfast, which would greatly improve the hotel amenities. The hotel has very friendly & accommodating staff. The hotel's lobby, restaurant and pool/hot tub are all very nice. However, the rooms are SO outdated! Especially disappointing for the nightly $$$. Even the suites weren't updated. They appear to have an old design and don't think they have ever been updated! Our room didn't have any clothes dressers, so we lived out of our suitcases. The bathroom had a nice large mirror and the shower water pressure was wonderful with a double headed shower-head. However, the bathroom didn't have a bathtub or a bathroom fan, so the bathroom gets extremely foggy when taking a shower. The magnifying mirror in the bathroom has a very low wattage bulb, so you can't see very well when using it. In summary, the hotel is in a good location, nice pool & hot tub, good Caribbean food in the restaurant and friendly staff. For the cons, outdated rooms without dressers, no bathroom fan, & no breakfast served onsite.

I buzzed the night window to get our room key. The Woman who owns the place promptly came to my aid 20 minutes after a hit the buzzer. The woman who spoke very poor English came to the window shaken her head and yelling no. It was like getting a warm welcome from Grandma when arriving for dinner on Christmas Eve. I kindly told the devil monster that I had booked the room on booking.com and payment had already been taken. I like a young Shakespeare the devil monster said "no room, you leave now, I sleep, we no deal with booking.com." This is when I had a moment straight out of CSI Wildwood, FL, and I noticed she had papers from booking on her desk. This is when I discovered the devil monster as not only rude but also a liar. I pointed at the papers at then monster grabbed them and tossed them in the trash. Lucky I had recently been to a David Copperfeild Magic show and was familiar with this type of slide of hand magic. I kindly spoke to the devil monster and said I saw you though those away. She then replied "you leave now, no room, I sleep." Which was slightly different than her previous "no room, you leave now, I sleep." I called booking.com and they said may payment has taken, and called the Devil Monster. I heard her answer the phone and go in the other room. I could still here the Devil Monster faintly defending her cave (The Super 8 in Wildwood). The lady from booking then called me and said. That lady is insane, find another hotel and we will pay the difference. We went down the road and found a place for the night. Sooooo if you decide to stay at the Wildwood super 8 in Florida. Keep one eye open, because just outside the doors lurks the devil monster.
