The girl at front desk told me that the housekeeper had an emergency and couldn't finish cleaning the rooms. Ok so I'm paying for a dirty room? The toilet had pee on the rim, dried up pee on the floor and everything had splatters of stuff on it, throughout the room. The only thing that "seemed" clean were the sheets. My dog spilled his water bowl and I used a towel to wipe it up. The towel was black from wiping the water of the floor. I will never stay in this particular Motel 6 again. Even if the hotel is older, they should do a better job of keeping things clean. read more

Motel 6 no longer honors their free cancellation policy. I canceled my room 7 days prior to a stay, and they requested bank records to prove I didn't get my refund. Their "team" supposedly has been reviewing my "case" for 13 days. Like others have said, don't stay at Motel 6. Pay a little more and stay somewhere else. read more

Passing through on way to Texas stopped for the night... The value is great for what you get... It was clean but dated... You get what you pay for so if you're looking for a modern place you won't find it here. We were comfortable and our Poodle was comfortable that's all that mattered to us. Just as expected for a Motel 6. The room was adequate with a reasonably clean and functioning shower, toilet, sink, fridge and microwave. The decor was minimalist in the brand's orange and beige colors, with two pegs and a high shelf instead of a closet. Amenities: two branded bars of soap and a roll of toilet paper. The laminate floor was cracked and both bedspreads were stained. That said, the beds were good and everything worked. This seems like a safe and convenient place for travelers to stay one night. read more

Good price in a convenient area. This Motel 6 has been recently renovated, so I was pleasantly surprised to see a brand new, clean room with modern beds and a huge, flat-screen TV. The beds were comfortable and the room also included a fridge and microwave, making my extended stay very pleasant. The area is quiet, but still close to the interstate for easy travel access. There are places to eat within a couple of blocks, so it's really accommodating. All of the staff members were friendly and helpful, making this a great stay all around. I would definitely consider staying here again with any future travel plans to the Salina area. read more

I stayed here to save money while taking the long way home from Texas to Michigan. I wanted to stay somewhere near Abilene so I could visit Eisenhower's grave early the next day. When I arrived I asked if there were rooms and the hotel guy said yes. He also said something that implied I had stayed with him many times before. I hadn't. Maybe he thought I was a trucker or a drifter. I asked about internet and he said that you need to pay $5 or something for a password, but he ran out of cards with the passwords on the weekend and a new shipment of cards hadn't arrived yet. First, I don't understand why internet isn't free at all hotels. It can't add that much cost. Second, why do you need special cards? That's just stupid. The room was clean enough and comfortable enough. It was a Motel 6 so it was the farthest from fancy imaginable. If you can find another motel in the area it's probably worth the upgrade. This little motel was newly remodeled and clean. The lobby was very small, for check in only. The clerk was super friendly and nice. The Wi-Fi was free and the room had a microwave and a fridge. I loved that the floors were hardwood-like laminate. The beds were fairly comfy and they had a big screen tv. We felt safe and it was quiet. They offered coffee in lobby in morning but did not have breakfast. However, they gave us a voucher for 20% off at a nearby IHOP and another restaurant. The building's rooms were outside entry style. It was located very conveniently just off interstate with lits if restaurants nearby. This was nothing fancy but for $52 it was clean and safe to sleep and shower and I would stay again. read more

This is a great little motel. Very reasonably priced with no pet fee and a great location right off the highway with a couple of decent sized gas stations (very truck friendly). There are lots of places to eat here, too. The staff are friendly, the rooms are remodeled and there isn't an undesiarable crowd outside like you would see at a budget motel in the city. Lots of TV channels and good internet, too. We'll be coming back if we pass through again. read more

For a motel 6 this is probably one of the much better ones. Great parking and friendly staff. Rooms are completely basic but that's what motel 6 is about. Beds are great! Pillows were great. Shower head was low but the pressure and water were fantastic. Room is totally clean and they have great flat screen tv's in each room. No hairdryer (but again, basics only). This was a quick stop for us and we will keep it on our list of good, safe and clean hotels for when we pass through this area. read more

It was pretty clean. The bathroom was on the newer side. The room didn't smell. I reserved a room with wireless internet, but when I checked in, the clerk told me all the "wireless password cards" were locked in the manager's office, and he'd left for the day. At 5:30pm. Buh...? It's a motel 6, not the Ritz. Clean, warm and inexpensive. No shampoo in the bathroom like most motels. Needed a bed for the night on the drive from TX to CO. It's not the nicest Mot6 I've stayed in but it's just fine. The money I saved over a "nicer" hotel pays for a day's worth of food and they gave me a 20% discount coupon for the IHOP next door. Very good experience! I have to spend the night in Salina, KS on a semi-regular basis. I have tried several hotels and motels. I have a couple of faves which would fall under the "hotel" umbrella. well last weekend I had to stay a couple of nights and it was during a big festival, so pickings were slim when it came to lodging. the places I normally would book, I couldn't. so I had to look at other options. I usually don't like "motels" because I find them to (usually) be much more raggedy and noisy than hotels. well to my surprise my room was very nice. it was pretty small, but that was okay. I didn't need a whole lot of room. there was a small table with 2 chairs. a nice TV hung over it, a queen sized bed, a couple of night stands, a sink and vanity and then a small 3/4 bath (no tub, just a toilet & shower). oh, and also a small frig with a small microwave on top. the room itself was very neat and clean. everything looked very modern-- nothing looking dilapidated, old or outdated. no 1998-era television and raggedy remote. the bed didn't seem like it should've been replaced a decade ago. no musty smells. the bathroom looked very new. the floors were very nice too-- a wood looking substance (pretty sure they weren't really hard wood but they looked it). and to my surprise the place wasn't super noisy! I loved that part! it was a relaxing, nice, clean room. the staff-- although I had very little interaction with them-- was okay. the only thing folks might not like is there is no kind of breakfast or coffeemaker in the room (which is something I really like when I am staying somewhere). but it is right next door to an I-Hop and close to a few fast food places. overall a very pleasant experience and a very reasonable price as well. This Motel 6 exceeded my expectations of a $40 hotel room for two. The rooms were clean and fresh with super comfortable bed linens, the bathroom had an updated shower stall with excellent water pressure and the window was well sealed so we could watch the blizzard blowing outside our room. The neighborhood was a business neighborhood and felt safe and comfortable. The IHOP next door even offered a 20% discount with the Motel 6 receipts. I'm not worried about the lack of complimentary shampoo, no refrigerator, microwave or coffee pot or the television from the 90's. You get what you pay for and for $40 we paid for a clean room, hot shower and the chance to get off the highway during a storm. read more

The bullet-proof glass for the receptionist is always the sign of a quality motel. The bathroom floor was fly-paper sticky, which made me wonder if I should use a black light on the sheets. But it was about 2am and I had been driving for hours, so best not to think too much about it. I was only passing through this town and this was the cheapest hotel in the area. We stayed at this hotel on a road trip from Utah to Kentucky. We arrived at the hotel and it looked like a trailer park, but we had stayed at worse-looking places that turned out to be decent on the inside. We don't judge books by their cover--saves tons of money. However, in this case, doing so could have avoided some problems. The first thing that hit us was the distinct smell of animal feces. There were some stains on the carpet that seemed to indicate that someone and his/her pet had an extended stay in this room. We were going to stay, but then spotted a dead cockroach in the corner. We packed our bags and headed down the road to the America's Best Value Inn. Good thing we did because Motel 6 would have charged for the internet and had no free breakfast, unlike ABV. NO PRIVACY AND UNSAFE Worst experience in awhile, recently remodeled but there is holes in the walls, pee all over the walls light fixtures missing and the foam board ceiling is missing pieces. If the room wasn't disgusting enough I wasn't that upset due to the price until from 7pm to 7am a canine officer would circle the property close to the rooms which doesn't only make me feel unsafe and uncomfortable but if you have a dog like me and the police canine keeps barking it makes it really hard to sleep!!!! Absolutely horrible hotel! Couldn't print receipt at ck in Cuz printer issue. Took dog for walk in morning...came back to flooded bathroom. Maid was next door went to tell her...No English...my guess relative of owner. I take and show her, she say "I tell maintenance", and leaves. Water inch deep starts to come into room, I put towels down. After 10 minutes, try to dial 0 on phone...doesn't work...good thing I didn't need 911. I call desk on my cell...Denise very rude...offers me a "dirty" room to shower in! Maintenance folks arrive ...maid starts to clean room next door for me...comes running in to say water...water....yup that room is now starting to flood from mine. My guess owner won't spend $5 to replace o rings. Well now he will have to pay for water damage! After hour or so I asked for refund and left. 8 hour drive...no shower! Horrible location! read more

My sister and I were stranded in Salina, KS due to our vehicle breaking down about 4 miles away from this motel. We arrived around 4am and the gentleman at the counter was very helpful and accommodating as we had 2 adults, an infant, and 2 cats. Later on that morning we were trying to figure out how long we were going to have to stay due to the extent of work the vehicle needed done. Each day, Darci the manager, was extremely sweet and helpful. She was able to point us in the right direction for our food/toiletry needs and gave us some ideas once we were given a loaner vehicle by the dealership we were waiting on. The room we were given was nice, clean, and spacious enough for our 5 inhabitants. We ended up being there for 3 nights and 4 days and it was so nice to see that they were honest and good people really wanting to help us out as much as possible. We even had a few other guests help us place the U-haul trailer we were towing back onto our vehicle before leaving. Definitely recommend this motel and the service if you are in the area and in need. read more

Where to begin. We made reservations a week ahead because of the cheap price. Big mistake. Arrived around 3pm and our rooms weren't ready, though it looked like nobody was staying there. When we got our rooms they had to give each person a wifi password. They wanted to charge us for it but after we said we weren't going to pay for it they just comped it. The wifi is more of a joke. The speed is so slow I ended up using my mobile plan more because it was triple the wifi's speed. Would be understandable had more people been there but it seems to be just us and maybe 1 more room. The shower was made for people under 4 feet. Had to basically bend over for the shower head to get my hair. I'm only 5'9". The sink didn't drain properly and there were cracks that looked like hair at first. Grossed us out until we realized what they were. You can hear the traffic at all hours. The only good things I can say about the place are the staff was friendly and the price was low. But there are many more hotels around for maybe $10-20 more. Would recommend you stay at one of those instead if possible. read more
