Room was clean enough, sheets were clean, bed was comfy. That was about it for positive experiences. Fan in the bathroom sounded like it was going to rattle off the wall; we had 2 bars of soap- no shampoo or any other amenities; the pillows were terrible, and when I asked for two more, the host was rude and told me "I can't leave the desk unattended. There's just no way." How far away are these pillows, I wondered? Won't be staying here again, that is for sure. read more

We booked a room here at this hell hole as a last resort for June 2nd this year and ended up cancelling within the cancellation policy as stated in the email we received 'Cancellation Policy We look forward to seeing you! I am not here to sabotage, as it always makes me feel bad to leave a low review. My track record will indicate how rare it is to give low reviews. I am here for one reason, which is to ensure that someone else won't have the experience I had, or at least will be prepared. My fiance and I decided to stay at the motel six in king city, on our way to visit Pinnacles National Park and the beautiful Salinas Valley in California. It was to my great dismay that there was a very loud party going on downstairs. I'm all about fun, and I'm all about enjoying life. My problem is how obnoxiously loud this party was and how poorly it was handled. The bass on the speakers caused the building to shake, and the people downstairs were screaming at the top of their lungs. It was well past three in the morning when I finally called the office. Only the lord knows why we waited so long. After overlooking the noise for over three hours, I just couldn't sleep or wait any longer. The lady who picked up the phone said that she would look into it and that this level of noise was unacceptable. We did not mind that they were having fun, but we just simply wanted them to be mindful of the other guests staying nearby. They could have totally still had fun and just brought the noise level down a notch or two. 10 minutes passed us by, and the noise seemed to increase substantially! The lady was called again and this time she claimed that she could not leave the office or do anything to resolve the issue with noise, which would indicate dishonesty on her part due to the fact that she said that she would look into it and speak to the guests in the previous phone cash. She said I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do tonight. She did not allow us to stay in another room. She did not walk over and ask the people to lower the volume just slightly as she mentioned she would before. She claimed she could not leave the office due to safety reasons which seems like an excuse and a cop out as I know that this has been done numerous times by hotel workers on the past. There was no simple commodities that a hotel most usually offers aside for a tiny bar of soap. One measly bar of soap that makes your skin super dry after its first use. This is a bare minimal kind of place to stay. Which is definitely a reflection of the price. It is just a shame that this motel will literally offer the bare minimum in any case it can. On a more positive note I would like to give a shout out to the cleaning lady. I met her the morning after, and she was so sweet and positive. Had it not been for her kindness this motel would be getting zero stars. I always like to leave my motel rooms in pristine condition, just like how I like to leave my classrooms clean as a whistle every day so the custodians at my school don't have to work too hard. My grandmother always taught me to leave every place in it and just as good as a condition if not better than as it had been when I arrived. That was one of life's greatest lessons for me. That's why I always clean my table at the restaurant before leaving the establishment, through stacking dishes and tossing away excess garbage. Even a quick wipe down of the table with a napkin as a courtesy for the food staff. I was so ticked off with the motel in the lack of respect and service from the staff that I wanted to leave it trashed. However, the kindness from the cleaning lady inspired me to do the right thing, and I commend her for her positivity and warmth. It just goes to show that there's positives in anything, even if you are lacking substantial sleep on your trip to Central California that you've been looking forward to for quite some time. Nonetheless, I rose above, and we became the victors. Grammys lesson continues to seep through me to this day. The lack of service motel did not get the best of us. We have the last word with this review. Don't book with them, as the extra $20 at another hotel is worth every penny of the spend. read more

There are roaches. It's a place to sleep. Bathroom light consistently flickers, not worth keeping on. AC works well but is loud. Tv remote only does volume and power, but you can get up and manually change channel. No coffee or tea maker in the room. Fridge and microwave. No shampoo, just bar soap. Pet friendly, but we'd booked a king and had to downgrade because pets are only allowed in Queen rooms. 2 towels for a room with 2 people. Stained sheets. Yes that's right the first one were stained and the second set had more stains 3. Service and billing. Don't get sucked in by Tom Bodett's voice as he probably stays at a Hilton property. There's a reason why this location doesn't leave the light on for you as they don't want you to see the stains, mold, and overall dirtiness This location in King City is on par with the Red Roof Inn in Lompoc. I needed more towels so I asked the cleaning ladies they were completely rude so then I called the front desk finally got towels hours later horrible. The sheets are old with stains. And the showerhead was broken the shower was dirty like it's stained dirty I don't even know if you can even clean them that's how old these motels are but yet they want to charge us $150 a night. I had asked for a bottom floor room which I was told they could accommodate but didn't have at my check in. Then I get into the room and nothing works. Jan 29, 2024 rented a room at Motel 6 for the first time in King City, CA. At 7:33pm, sent photo's to a family member showing bugs, fly poop above the bed, dirty bathroom, dirty air filters, torn sheets. Jan 30, spoke with location at 9:50am (Clarice who was GREAT) and emailed photo's, she said cleaning staff was coming in at 10am, they'll get that room taken care of. Had to wait for Mgr. to call. At 330pm, called Bobby, he said nothing wrong with the room (which they had probably already cleaned so he wouldn't see it!), but he can't explain how I would have pictures of the room within less than an hour after checkin. I considered sleeping in my truck it was so disgusting while I stare at the ceiling with an alarm covered in fly crap. I slept with my clothes on and the pillow inside of a tshirt because it was so bad! No shower, it was NASTY. I couldn't get out of here fast enough and am now staying in Paso Robles at a decent hotel! I want my $80 cash reimbursed. Location was great, cleanliness, non existent. read more

Horrible service, arrived on Friday and gave us a room that didn't have any sheets, dirty floor and hallway. Went to the office and the guy gave us a different room. Phone and Wi-Fi not working, no towels. I had to go again to the office to get some. On Saturday morning after breakfast, again, no towels, they don't have enough to replaced the dirty ones, I was late to my cousin wedding because of this, I literally had to dry my self with my clean clothes. So I stayed at this location February 12 and 13. In the bathroom there was black mold in the shower. I called the hotel and spoke with housekeeping supervisor and she hung on me. I tried to get in touch with the manager never got a call back. Spoke with someone by the name of Bobby he stated he was not the manager. But then the next day the lady on the phone srated Bobby was the manager. They continue to ignore my phone calls and the manager is not there. Called corporate office and they looked into it. This location told me they would not refund money cause I refused for room to be cleaned. But they cleaned rhe room and made the bed. Definitely below mediocre. Check in was easy, the room was clean (wooden floors), no bed bugs, free WiFi, free parking, but a lot of basic things were missing. We had 3-4 people staying in each of our 3 rooms, but they didn't have enough towels, no hairdryer, conditioner, or shampoo. They provided soap though. Booked this place blindly for 2 nights and checked out the next morning. Luckily we got our refund for the 2nd night. The bed had hair in the sheets, loose water faucets, shower head had a plastic bag tied around the fitting to prevent leaking, overall dirty, but because we had a dog we settled. We asked the owner for more pillows and clean sheets and he told us that there were nobody available to get those for us. I rather stupidly didn't book anything in advance, and found all the coastal cities were $300 a night, so we decided to stay in King City where we found a more reasonable rate. The Ritz it is not, but it was a place to keep our things and had a refrigerator. Also we were able to check in early, so that's a plus. By King City standards this was okay, my biggest problem was that there was a lot of noise from folks in neighboring rooms until the small hours. Who takes their kids out at 11:30pm?! This is clearly a transient hotel. There were a lot of unsavory looking characters roaming around. Had I not been driving for 8 hours I would've tried to find another place. I wished I had. As previously mentioned the lobby smelled like an Indian restaurant. The front desk guy was nice but that's the only good thing I can say about this place. The room itself was ok but the bedspread was stained with what looked like semen. The walls are SUPER thin. The people next door never slept, they ran the TV all night, they had visitors coming & going as well as a cat. (The cat didn't bother me.) I stayed at this motel for just one night in the month of May with my bf. Upon entering into the front office to check in, it smelled like an Indian restaurant. As much as I love Indian food, the scent was a little overwhelming for such a confined space. The 3 young guys who checked us in were very nice and professional. We were quickly given a room on the second floor. On the way to our room, we noticed there were a whole bunch of old school televisions just piled up under the stairway leading up to the second floor. It looked like they were in the process of remodeling the rooms or had already done so and haven't gotten rid of the old equipment yet. Our room did not smell like an Indian restaurant (Whoo hooo!) It had a TV, microwave, mini fridge, and free wi-fi. We didn't use the TV, microwave or wi-fi so I can't confirm whether they were in working condition or not. The fridge was clean and was working. The sheets on the bed were clean, but the pillows were a little flat. The towels in the bathroom looked clean as well. The bathroom looked pretty clean except for the fact that it had a weird funky smell similar to burnt hair when you'd take a shower and close the bathroom door. It just seemed like there wasn't enough ventilation in there. There weren't too many wall sockets available for us to recharge our cell phones. When there were wall sockets, they were in very unusual and inconvenient places. There were none near the bedside table where you'd expect to find one. There was one near the door and that one was actually not working. There was also another one next to the fridge. Overall, this motel met our basic needs. We weren't expecting much except for a clean bed to sleep in for the night. I stayed two separate nights. On the first night, my room smelled liked I was in an Indian restaurant. The lobby and most common are areas also smelled the same. I like Indian food, so it was not really that unpleasant, it just made me hungry. The non-working light switch was not good. I found LONG hairs in the shower, not just a little curly that got over looked. The second night, in a different room, again there were long black hairs in the shower. There were some of those spicy peanut looking things on the floor. On both nights, the towels felt slightly damp. I am hoping that there is a problem with the dryer, and not simply used re-folded towels. On the first night of check in two people complained about overflows in the bathrooms, and requested extra towels while I waited to check in. On the second night, there was a clock, a fridge and microwave in the room. (Am I hallucinating? Isn't this Motel 6?) This is absolutely the worst Motel 6 I have ever stayed at. It is must nicer than the one near the "stroll" in Fresno off Highway 99. I have the feeling that the maid needs to be fired. PROMPTLY. The only reason I returned the second night is, the price. A PLUS for this Motel-6 is the free wifi. The clerk told me that is free because they got too many complaints about it, when they used to charge for it. read more

This is the first Motel six which wasn't as clean as we had expected it to be, because we discovered hair on pillow! So someone must have used the bed without housekeeping knowing about it. The situation was remedied when management came up and brought us clean sheets. The TV had an annoying old remote with which I couldn't get to the program menu. So it took me a while to find the HBO channel. Bathroom didn't look dirty but it didn't have the hints of having been freshly cleaned. read more
