Improvised night stand

Last year we had a horrific stay at Motel 6 (see my review for amusement) and subsequently got a voucher for a free night at another location. My husband nearly refused to try another Motel 6 but reluctantly agreed to try one night here. I am extremely pleased to say that it was a night and day difference. Still not a motel with frills of any type but it was clean and more than adequate for a cheap room. Located right off the highway and easy to get to, with several restaurants and bars nearby. If you don't need to sleep in the lap of luxury then try this motel.

I wish I could rate this POS lower. I got charged for "holes in the blanket" that were there when I checked in. The room was $90 prior to the charge, $240 total afterwards which is way over priced for such a crummy place. I hope this business fails and something better takes its place.

Yep, that's my door handle. No, it isn't attached The the door. It's been about a half hour since I called the front desk

Stay ANYWHERE ELSE. They don't even have shampoo. There's limited hot water. Also, it's kind of away from the Main Street and doesn't feel safe. And the manager and front desk people were horrible and rude

It was cheap very cheap. Now maybe my expectations are to high but it was bad. What I will say is that the rooms had been renovated so the room looked nice and it even smelled clean which is very important. Yes there were some stains on the comforter but it was cheap so what can you expect. The beds were actually comfortable so that was a plus. The part where they really messed up was the fact that they did not clean the room on Saturday. The housekeeper knocked on the door and we told him that we would be leaving in 15min. He said ok I will come back when you guys are gone and we said ok. We went about out business and when we got back to the hotel in the afternoon the beds had been made but the bathroom was not cleaned at all. He did not even give it the ole slap and tickle. We are not messy people but part of the service is to clean up. Now we left a $6 tip for the housekeeper and how it works is you get more everyday based upon the job that is done. At hotels this always does great. We even get extra of everything and the room gets cleaner the longer we are there. I must not understand the motel circuit and how it works. At the very least he could have poured bleach in the toilet and the sink to create an illusion of cleanliness. Oh that's right we left paper in the toilet to see if it would be taken care of and nope it wasn't. iTs the attitude that is the issue for me. I know he went into the bathroom because while he did not take the broken up soap he did put a new nasty bar of soap in the bathroom. Once agin he could have just flushed the toilet etc. So upon checkout today the tip dropped and I will never stay there ever again.

Great hotel, great staff! I thought I was in the Marriott…read morehotel, this place really impressed me. We had just left a hotel that had a mouse in the room so I didn't care how much this place was I just needed to find a place for my bf and I for the night. I walked in the lobby and immediately was impressed with how clean and sparkling it was. The staff was so nice too! Our room was gorgeous (king bed) the bathroom was super clean and the shower had beautiful glass door and shampoo conditioner and body wash dispensers on the wall. Bed was super comfy but I did smash my shin on the bed frame as it stuck out further than the mattress. The floors had tile NOT grungy carpeting. my only complaint is the tv had a volume lock which made watching tv in bed hard to hear. Overall I'd 100% visit again!

I arrived on Friday, February 20, 2026, and on Saturday morning, before leaving at 7:00 am, I called the front desk to request housekeeper services, but no one answered. I went to the front desk, but there was no one there, so I left without being helped. Hours later, I sent a message that wasn't read or answered, and when I arrived back at the hotel around 2:00 pm, I mentioned it, and they offered me the service, but it was too late to sit and wait in the lobby. Later, I went back to borrow a phone charger and some coffee for my room. They lent me the charger, but they never sent the coffee. On Saturday around 8 pm, I left my room to return the charger and saw the front desk employee go into room 102. I went down to the front desk thinking someone was there, but there was a note saying they would be back soon. I waited about 20 minutes, and there was no one at the front desk. I went back to my room and went down later to return the charger. I thanked them for lending it to me and for the coffee they never sent. Ironically, He said, "You're very welcome." I am traveling with a group of healthcare professionals who work for DOCS International, and I feel I must make this comment so it can be taken into account.

The rooms were spacious and clean, with attractive furnishings of tables, dresser, chairs and bed. We did not try the pool-like bathtub (next to shutters that open to the main room and TV!) but the shower was magnificent! Towels and ROBES were fluffy and floral-smelling. Toilet flush was awesome, lol. Height of counter was thoughtfully higher-than usual and it had room for personal effects. The bed was not super-comfortable but acceptable. It was soft over hard, and my sister felt pressure points. The chairs sunk in the middle, but we weren't in them long. The gas fireplace was lovely!! And both windows open for fresh air, which I find very important. The place was very quiet and we only encountered other guests a few minutes here and there. The grounds are Gorgeous with grasses, roses, huge lavender plants. We loved sitting in the metal patio furniture with umbrellas, by the marina, eating our custom breakfasts! So relaxing and decadent. Kat, our breakfast waitress, was A+ and very pleasant. We all liked the food too. We did walk to local restaurants from here, plus easily visited Mystic by car. We did walk the nearby 1mi bayside trail to the Hole-in-the-Wall beach. It was a bit too far unless you can enjoy ~3mi roundtrip from Inn to beach. Our favorite restaurants were 374 Kitchen & Cocktail, followed by Constantine's (deck). We did not care for Flanders which was crowded and noisy, plus several additional unpleasant features! Now for the gritty: For unknown reason, the Inn has very cheap toiletpaper! And there is no place to lay clothes in the bathroom except in a drawer. There is no fridge in the room - just an icebucket with a fridge and ice in the community areas. They provide 2 bottles of water at the start of your stay...but you can get another at breakfast. Coffee is in carafes in the morning, but otherwise from Keurigs in the community room. You may freely wear the robes - just place them with your dirty towels at end of stay. To get clean towels, place your used ones outside your door! Fresh ones will magically appear in a plastic bag outside the door. They were not offering the pontoon rides when we were there in early June. I was disappointed and felt they should post the limitations. They do have cookies plus wine/cheese/grapes at certain times. These items are in the main Inn, where there are two tiny closets with staff in them. We were pretty comfortable going in and out the business area. Kat was the most welcoming, smiling when we cut through the kitchen each morning. We splurged to stay here for 70th BD celebrations. All four of us loved the Inn and had fun days in Niantic and Mystic.

We checked in, dropped off our stuff, then went to go pick up dinner. When we came back, our key wouldn't work, and the electronic lock would not light up. The manager let us in with a manual key, and said the lock was broken. When we came back to the room and turned on all the lights, we saw the walls were covered in stains and scuffs. On the wall next to the bed was what looked alot like blood splatter. Between the dresser and the bed was a pile of filth, including large toenail clippings. The light switches were covered in stains, and there was a "snot" streak on the wall. Inside the drawer there was a lot of unknown sediment. The room had a very dank smell, coming from the unplugged refrigerator that had old water in it. The presence of blood stains and other human byproducts was unacceptable and we packed up our stuff and checked out immediately. Initially the manager refused to give us a refund, stating we were there too long. He went and inspected the room with us, and tried to wipe off the blood with his bare finger that he wet with his own spit. The manager confirmed that everything I took pictures of were present in the room, but we would still not get a refund. I told him I took pictures, and he stated he didnt care if I posted them online After a half hour of arguing, where the manager was very condescending, we confirmed with booking.com customer service that the hotel owed us a full refund. The manager would only agree to a 50% refund, we loudly argued longer, and I was only given a full refund when I told him we were on the phone with the booking service. The manager called "his boss" and would not speak in english in front of us, so we had no idea what he was saying about us, just that he was smirking and gesturing towards us on the phone.

I honestly expected worst for the price, but was pleasantly surprised. The front desk person was friendly and very helpful. The room was smaller than some places, but about the same size as a Red Roof Inn. The room was clean and appropriately decorated. I will be back for the value when in this area with our weekend business.
