I checked in on Tues. 5/26/20 and checked out on Thurs. 5/28/20. I'll say that the staff is very courteous however I do think that at times they misinterpret what it is you are asking about and in turn answer the same question in a roundabout way rather than being direct which is slightly irritating, I think that they are just severely understaffed and overworked to be honest and that starts leaving turning their brains into putty, I don't mean it in a cruel way, I totally get it, I am a essential worker myself during this time, things are hectic. Nevertheless my questions were answered and I felt comfortable being able to ask them anything. I would also say that although you have to pay for simple items like toothbrush and tooth paste not to mention even shampoo, I'd say that since they are near a dollar tree and Walmart that you can easily avoid using the vending machine unless absolutely necessary. Overall I wish that there was less third party business transactions but for what it's worth, if you need somewhere to crash and are considering a long term stay at studio 6, this is the place to check out first so you can get a idea of how things will go or if you are like me and driving over 40 minutes for work with car trouble and staying there is cheaper than the alternative than this is a good pick too. I have to touch base on what someone else mentioned the floors they have here are a shining example of how floors should be in every motel, my hallway section didn't smell either but I can't say the same for the other side ha ha, in that regard it can be hit or miss. The shower was small so small that I bumped my head getting in one day but that shower is bigger and cleaner than certain places and the place wasn't crawling with bugs and even has a laundry room that you pay for, it has it's trade offs but out of all the motels I have been to thus far it is definitely a go to so far! read more

Very modern room. Loved the laminate floors. The TV screen was so dark you couldn't watch it. We tried turning off the lights but it didn't help. Called the front desk and while she was friendly and apologetic, she said there was nothing she could do. She even came to the room and tried going in settings but brightness was not an option. 5 nights without TV. No breakfast but they did offer coffee and the use of a microwave. There was 2 vending machines. Very nice washer and dryer available to guests. The housekeepers were not very helpful, with the exception of Richard. He was very thorough and friendly. read more

Several things had been taken from my room while I was out. The next day I stayed in the room. Someone knocked on the door and I did not answer. The person then attempted to use their master key to enter and I heard the click. Luckily I had the manual safety lock on. I looked through the peephole and it was the manager Carmen. I wish I could give zero stars, my family stayed at motel 6 for a total of 5 weeks, with a couple nights elsewhere in the middle because they have a 21 day stay max. We stayed for so long because we were displaced and needed to stay at the cheapest place while looking for a home. Almost daily, the female manager would make comments to my wife asking her when our 21 days was up and making her feel very unwanted and unvalued as a paying customer. This woman was very unprofessional and more than once would come knocking on the door before 8am with some weird request of us, mind you i get back from work at 2am many nights. The keycards constantly need reprogramming and lock us out of the room, and that's the reason my wife had so many transactions with this "manager". I do not advise anybody stay here if you are looking to be treated like a human being. They have some of the worst business practices i have seen in my entire life!​​ read more

Worst place I have been in. I went to visit some friends and didn't wanted to stay at there house. We rented this location 26 US highway 1,New Brunswick because it was close. I was 2 of us. My friends was there because she was waiting for her ride. I went to use the bathroom to take a shower. Mind you we got there at 5:30am checking out at 11:00am. The front desk man. Started bagging on the door. Open up! Open! There a lot of people there. We told him no it's just us 2! He try to open the bathroom door without our permission. Mother fucker. We stay full price to stay for a few hours why you bagging on my door. Check the cámara and see that only us was there. He started insult us. You know English. I call the cop. India person. I stayed here while in NJ for a graduation. The "improvements" in this hotel are merely cosmetic. The rooms are small and dirty. Our room's toilet was leaking at the wax ring, where several towels had been placed around it to absorb the water. Our room had a mini fridge which was extremely noisy, to the point we had to unplug it at around 3am to get some sleep. I mentioned the issues with the room upon checkout and the woman at the front desk gave me a 10% discount. She went to get the manager, to approve the discount on her computer. I just wanted to say I had the worst hotel stays of my life at the Motel 6 in East Brunswick NJ. The room was covered in bugs!! The first night I just saw two or three little bugs in the bathroom and I was like no big deal I can kill two bugs, but then later the next morning I sat at the table and it looked like the table was moving from the amount of bugs on the table. There were hundreds all over the table! I tried to find where they were coming from and I pulled back the cushion from the corner bench and there was a steady stream of bugs running all over the wall! I walked down to talk to the manager to switch rooms to get away from the infestation. The Manager on duty "Carmen" was completely unhelpful! I showed her the pictures and videos I took of the amount of bugs in the room and it didn't even faze her. She accused me of leaving the door open and letting the bugs in, when I could clearly see the trail of bugs coming from behind the bench. She also accused me of smoking in my room when me, nor my girlfriend, have ever smoked in our lives. Carmen also made it seem like I was crazy for requesting a new room because according to her "it was just ants". Carmen never gave a single apology for the condition of the room. She just made it seem like I was inconveniencing her because I didn't want to sleep with bugs! Yuck!!!!! I will never stay at a Motel 6 again! read more

My wife and I stayed here because we were attending a concert nearby. We were shocked at how large our room was. It looked very European as well, no carpet, minimalist, furniture and fixtures you expect to see in Ikea. Very nice. There was a mini-fridge and microwave in our room too. I saw someone mention the entrance. Very confusing to get in. Yes, enter on Edgeboro Rd. We did find one cockroach near the door shortly after getting there. We just killed it and went on our way. We didn't see any more the rest of our stay. The bathroom fan was way too loud, and the shower pressure was low (but not pressure coming from the faucet for a bath). So those were downsides. Overall, not bad for a quick one night stay. I'd hesitate to stay for multiple nights. read more

Newly re-done rooms...it isn't anything fancy like the Hyatt, but it's perfect for an overnight stay. Also, the pricing is very reasonable especially with being in a populated area. It's also really close to the NJ TPKE which is great for travelers! Dunkin Donuts, Wawa & other stores & places to eat close by. Was glad to have found it on Booking.com! What was once a decent hotel is now a homeless shelter! This used to be a good hotel if you were traveling with dogs. You could get a ground floor room that you could drive up to. No rugs in the room, which is a good thing when you have dogs. Good areas to walk the dog. While the physical hotel hasn't changed, the clientele has. The vast majority of the people here this weekend are homeless. On this trip we were placed between a room with a homeless family and a homeless couple. While it was quiet, the fact was we were never informed of this! In walking my dogs I see there are many many homeless families and individuals staying here. Really didn't like staying here. When I got here it took 15-20 min to check in. There was only 1 front desk attendant, which is fine, but between checking people in and answering phone calls it took forever. Here are some Pros: - Has a laundry area in the hotel - Friendly Front Desk staff - Clean bed and bathroom - No bugs and the Cons: - The room feels empty. Definitely not warm or home'y. It felt cold and basic. - Bathtub has a smokey smell. When taking a shower it smelled like someone just lit up a cig in there. - Broken Door lock. I had to swipe my key card a dozen times for it to work. Then when leaving it didn't lock properly. Had to fidget with it to get it to lock. - Very shady people in hotel. Stayed one night and had a pretty horrible experience. I went to bed around 9pm watching some TV and started to hear dogs barking immediately. I love dogs and have two of them the didn't make a peep but the barking was so bad that I had to call the front desk to have it taken care of. I heard someone from the front desk banging on nearby doors about an hour later and got the dogs to finally stop barking. About 20 minutes after I finally got to sleep, I heard people yelling, music, and banging outside in the halls and it sounded like it was coming from everywhere, it was so loud and didn't stop until about 3am. I needed to be up to travel at 4am and I basically got no sleep. I completely support and understand a fun hotel party etc. but with over a half empty hotel, the least management could've done is to separate the guests throughout the hotel. We love this chain, we use them in every state we stay. Oakland was the best... this one is the worst, hands down. Rooms aren't vacuumed very well. Tons of dirt & rocks behind the doors(see pix) and their laundry facilities don't work. And the place is pretty much past it's prime i.e. old. So old...the seat @ the table area sinks in so low that the table is level w/ your forehead. I had trouble working the laundry detergent machine & went to front desk, my exact words were " is there a trick to using the detergent machine" the nasty front desk woman started yelling @ me that it's broken. I stated there should be an "out of order sign on it" & she went beserk on me. Screaming & cursing about how she just got here five minutes ago & doesn't need my "shit". YHEA, WOW... right. Then threatened to call the cops on me. BTW, the washing machine was broke too & ate my 3.75. I called corporate TWICE to complain after she made some male co-worker follow me around, making me feel extremely scared & uncomfortable. This place was disgusting. It was cheap and it was on the way to where we needed to go, but that doesn't change the fact that it was a dump. Mental institution lighting and no pictures or anything on the walls grant the room a claustrophobic feel. The brightly patterned (from the 80s) blankets with cigarette burn marks (in a non-smoking room) don't help. And while I'm on the subject of being in a "non-smoking" room...there was an ashtray on the bedside table. It was flipped over and had a sticker on it saying "no smoking," but still IT WAS A FREAKIN ASHTRAY! Mixed signals much? They were nice enough to provide an ashtray as a "no smoking" sign, but they didn't have a clock. This just adds to the mental institution, time standing still feel. The tv wasn't working. In their defense, this was a couple of days after a hurricane hit, but still we're talking daaaaaays. No pictures on the walls, no clock, no tv...why would I be surprised at the amount of pot smoke and fishbowled cars in the parking lot? I'm sure prostitutes are readily available as alternate entertainment as well, but that's just a guess. There were lots of families staying there, but they actually appeared to be living there, not just staying on a trip. The place was disgusting. The only positive thing I have to say about it is that the shower was decent, which is good because the place made me feel like I was walking around in cootie-land (translate that however you wish) and I wanted to scrub down immediately. The place is recently renovated, clean, and very basic, no shampoo or coffee in the rooms, no breakfast (coffee for the early birds), the flat screen TV is built into the wall, no clock and they provided an ashtray for a "no smoking room". The building is surrounded by parking lot and the rooms have exterior doors. The area is light industrial and a bit rough. They cater to truckers, who have a separate parking lot. This motel was clean and the staff was friendly. I really liked that the rooms were more modern and had laminate flooring instead of carpet. I chose this motel because it is pet friendly. There are lots of shops and restaurants close by. The beds are firm, but comfortable (I prefer a firm mattress so this was no issue.) I didn't hear any other guests. I didn't see any bugs or shady characters lurking around as some other reviews suggest. Lots of security cameras on site. Very good value close to NYC. I did call ahead as I was traveling to confirm I received the king room I booked and it was waiting on me as stated. The only problem that I noticed was that the toilet was leaking around the base. We stayed in this hotel for one night after seeing a concern in Philadelphia. I had low expectations going in, but it was worse than expected. My worst complaint is not feeling safe here. When we arrived, the front desk was behind a sheet of bullet proof glass. All night we could here people hollering and when my husband stuck his head outside there was a car full of young men riding around outside partying. He actually turned to me and said, "I just hope they don't hit our car.". There was pounding (not footsteps, actual pounding) all night from the room above us. Also, someone set off the fire alarm in the next building around 11:30. The room itself had clearly been remodeled and was clean. However, it had far less furniture and amenities than any other hotel I've stayed in. A huge part of the room was empty space where it was clear there used to be something, not sure what. The toilet looked like someone had dumped some dirt from outside into it. This motel is getting two stars from me only because the actual room was clean and the beds were actually very comfortable. Motel 6 is definitely NOT what it used to be. Our room was clean and minimally decorated, but I liked it. No fancy decorations, no fridge, no microwave, no breakfast served, no iron, and no toiletries. There is a microwave in the lobby and free coffee and tea in the early am. You need to pay for wi fi. I chose to stay here because it was reasonably priced and about a 45 minute drive for us into Manhattan plus I was traveling with my family and our dog. The entrance is difficult to find, but please remember it is because of the way the roads and streets are planned in NJ. It took us a while to figure out. I think they need to post it on their website... lol. In order to get to the other side of the street, you need to take the streets labeled "All Turns" on the right side of the road in order to get to the other side. To DO GET single ply TP, a bar of soap barely enough for 2 people to use, 2 postage size towels and a very slippery tub. If you're staying for a week it may be a little too minimal, but for a night or two it's just fine. We came back around midnight after checking in earlier in the day.
