I recently stayed at Motel 6 and had a very disappointing experience. As soon as I walked into the room, I asked to be moved because it looked run-down and nothing like what I expected. I even offered to pay extra for a different room, but I was denied. The issues didn't stop there. The outlet in my room didn't work, the heater was completely broken, and I ended up freezing all night. On top of that, the tub was clogged and dirty, which made the stay even more uncomfortable. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. A little customer service and basic maintenance could have made a huge difference, but unfortunately none of that was provided. (Drugs, Male prostitution, banging on my door and a woman screaming at 4am to "let her in" was all the upcoming fun to be had) at this crooked, intentionally false advertised bldg and needless to say, I couldn't sleep and the place is awful but that's not what the #1 issue is.. as i first mentioned, on Expedia (and their false advertisement is still listed btw even though Expedia is well aware of the trickery and as far I know, it is ILLEGAL TO NAME A MOTEL "STUDIO SIX SUITES" in an advertisement and it not be "STUDIO SIX SUITES" when I arrive. Take a look on Expedia. This place is HORRIBLE I was initially charged for the first night for $126, and paid the rest in cash. They did not offer me a receipt so I didn't get one. Monday I checked my bank account to find another charge from the SAME Motel for $123. The manager said it's a mistake on my end, when my bank has the transaction posted. He told me it was probably a hold but it is for a different amount, so that makes no sense. In addition, our room was also in disarray. It smelled strongly of smoke despite being a non-smoking room, and the fire alarm / smoke detector was taken apart. A staff member at the front joked about my mom "rubbing his feet", which I'm sure I don't need to tell you is SEXUAL HARASSMENT. When I called about the extra charge the manager told me he "trusts his system more than you" and was extremely rude and unprofessional. He offered no help and no solution, then hung up on me. A friend of mine just bought a house less than 5 miles from this motel, so instead of sleeping in sleeping-bag in his empty house on the floor, I researched hotels around this area. Sadly, this was the "best" option, lol. Other places had reviews of bugs- eww! We checked in with no issues, got our keys and went to our room on the second floor. Right away, the room reaked of smoke- tobacco smoke specifically because weed smoke would've been fine with us, haha. My hotel buddy right away noticed a bunch of fruit flies in the bathroom, which was gross. I later confirmed when I had to pee. The room appeared clean until my friend spilled some beer on the floor and when she cleaned it up with a towel, the towel was hella dirty- like they don't mop? Idk, the towel was super brown. The tv had issues with the screen, like there were circles of white balls that made it hard to see the actual content. Oh!? And don't stay here if you're hoping for a good night's sleep. Or just bring ear plugs because this is a VERY busy motel. You can hear people up at allll hours of the night. I heard ppl above us with heavy footing, around 2am. At 3:45am, someone thought it would be a great idea to blow trash with leaf-blower across the fence area of the motel's parking lot. I could see there was a homeless camp there so maybe one of them got bored at night and wanted to clean up?! But omg- it was loud. Plus- cops were cruising by every hour or so, two cop cars were talking to ppl in there cars so makes me wonder perhaps this was a hot spot for the "red light" district? Or a "drugstore?" Plus- occupants were in and out of rooms, one couple decided to argue loudly right outside our room door at 4am...I loose track of time at this point because I'm hardly sleeping. Plus- due to all that's happening, i'm paranoid that my car will get broken into, even though it's not a fancy car or have anything valuable in it, it's just the environment made me weary. OMG! Wow, where to begin?! Booked my stay with Expedia. Arrived around 11:30 and the hotel room was not ready and ask for us to come back by 2-3pm or "we can give you a call". Totally understandable. Asked to have a bottom floor room due to my mothers bad back she can't climb stairs and I have a newborn baby, they said they had no rooms while I walked past plenty of vacant ones. Got to our room and the bed was indented like someone slept on that side for years and never changed the mattress. All power went out in the middle of the night and with a newborn I need light to feed my child. Ive stayed at a Motel 6 before and so I know what to expect. The location is right next to the freeway, on a busy street. Entering the lot, there were plenty of parking and a security guard (Idk if that is a good thing or bad. Makes me think that cars have been broken into and so they need someone?) Checking in was quick and easy. The guy was smiling and friendly. However, the room was a different story. It was a small basic one queen bed. Flat screen TV was nice but everything else, not so much. The bed cover had a cigarette burn in a "non-smoking" room. My pillows had pen makes on them. When I lift the covers, it was stained. I spoke with the front desk and got switched to a different room. It was pretty much the same thing. The cover and sheets of this bed had even bigger stains. They offered to switch to another room AGAIN or get a full refund. At this point I didn't want to switch to another room. I mean, if the rooms were already clean, I wouldn't have to. I decided to get a refund, leave and never come back. The process to leave was fairly quick, had to sign a couple of things and they stated my refund won't go back on my card for another 5 business days. To conclude, we do this at least 2 or 3 times a year we fly family to California and rent 6 to 10 rooms for 1 or 2 nights we ussualy used another hotel chain this time we decide to try Motel 6 since is a little closer, I'm sorry to say that I'm truly disappointed. This hotel is conveniently located by the freeway and is very cozy. The room is clean and the staff are friendly. It provides basic comforts and is worth the price. I would definitely stay here again. The room appears to be newly renovated. This would have gotten 5 stars had I.not found a hair in my towel or if I wouldn't have had to switch rooms after the first and second ones smelled bad. Also the elevator kept breaking down. First off, We let her know that I was diabetic and I needed a refrigerator for my insulin, she told me that they would NOT give us one and I could just put it in an ice bucket and pour ice on top of it. She then told me that I was to young to be diabetic, After explaining to her that you don't have to be old to be a diabetic she asked me for my AARP card. and Said if I was Diabetic I should have an AARP card. BACK TO THE OFFICE WE GO We stood in line for about 10 minutes while Mildred helped other customers (being rude to them too) once at the front of the line she said in a snoody voice "what do you need" my wife told her we wanted to check out. and thats where she gave us more attitude. Asking why want what for We told her the sheets were soaking wet, Mildred threw a paper on the counter and told us to write everything down that was wrong and she would give us our refund. Never really stayed at a Motel 6 but I have to say this Motel 6 was an unexpected surprise. The hotel is in a sketchy area but it may be a cubic zirconia in the rough! Customer service was courteous, efficient, quick, and knowledgeable. Check-in took less than 10 minutes and check out was even faster. Lots of parking, easy to get in and out. The rooms were $58.88 including tax and I wasn't disappointed for the price. The queen bed was comfortable, air conditioning was cool and refreshing, the room was fairly clean, especially the bathroom and for the price it's worth it! Clean shower and toilet. I've seen hotels in the same price range that had me walking in sneakers and touching everything with Lysol wipes and plastic gloves. Not this place. Tiny TV but it had HBO, CNN, ESPN, and more with clear reception so I'm not complaining. Fast WiFi is available for an extra $2.99 per night. Given the busy street in front inside the room (313) was quiet and I slept like a baby. One issue I had was the elevator needs some TLC. But again I'm not complaining. I was glad to have an elevator to lug my bags to the 3rd floor. The floors and walls could have used some maintenance. 1st issue - there wasn't one of those Don't Disturb signs available in the room. But housekeeping didn't disturb me in the morning so maybe it isn't needed. 2nd issue- towels were a bit rough, but if you want a good exfoliating shower this is the place. Rub those towels on your skin and you'll get an invigorating cleansing. If you require soft towels by all means bring your own. 3rd issue - the low price and Sketchyville area attracts an interesting crowd of folks. Keep your eyes wide open, use common sense, and stay safe. This Motel 6 is on point for a budget inn. Not sure I'll be back but check it out if you're looking for a fairly clean budget motel in the area. read more

Im giving 2 stars because i know its a Motel 6 and theres really not much to be expected. I got some sleep and my car wasnt broken into. As far as im concerned thats all a cheap hotel should be for. ...but cmon... No clean towels. OH there were towels alright. But im not sure how clean they were. My girlfriend pointed out hairs of a previous guest embedded comfortably in the terricloth. No shampoo or conditioner. Normally this would not be a problem with me - as my hair is clipped. Hell, ill use soap. But as far as completeness and providing the option to wash your hair? ...fail. We asked for a non-smoking room and were given a room that smelled like smoke ...with ashtrays in it. They insisted it was a non smoking room. When we asked to see the other non-smoking rooms we were shown very very small alternatives. We stayed with the original room given... it was a roomy corner unit. #301 If you dont mind the sound of traffic and street living you should be ok. The place is right up against the 91 freeway. Hair dye on the floor. And i mean a lot. Like Americas Most Wanted was after somebody and they decided to stay in this room and change their appearance in a hurry. 09-22-15 I have not stayed at this location in a really long time. It looks at lot nicer than before. They have the new "retro" style rooms. Most of all, it SMELLS a million times better. I was on the phone with my wife, telling her that they really cleaned this place up, when a cockroach came out to greet me. YUCK. Check-In was not so pleasant. The "Prince" at the counter gave me the third degree about my reservation. It was on a corporate account, I have being staying at Motel 6 across the state for over ten years and never had an issue. He wanted to know who booked my room, what the phone number is, etc... I work for a somewhat big company, that is out of state. There are many phone numbers and names, none of which were the correct ones apparently. The pretty girl working with him, told him to just ask the name of the company. I mean really, do they think that I just stumbled in to the lobby here, and just happen to have the same name as the person who does have a reservation with my name? He also had trouble with the Mike-Michael connection... The "Prince" gave me free wifi card, however the wifi is slow, as per Motel 6 policy. (At least I think it is the policy, I have stayed at dozens of Motel 6 locations, and only found a small number that had good wifi speed, notably the ones that USED to be a Red Roof Inn, or other conversion) Edit...Bernice called very late to apologize for " the Prince". Where should I start? I don't take pride in giving a bad review, but when its so bad you just have to say something. From check in the front desk clerk (Mayra?) was very rude and as I approached the desk, she sat for a full minute to complete her so important text message and flirting with the maintenance man behind the BULLETPROOF ghetto glass. On the surface room seems ok, but after a quick inspection I found hairs in my sheets, stained towels, poorly insulated doorways, BUGS, etc. Went into the shower and couldn't help but notice mold growing on the walls, found old sunflower seeds on the carpet as if the room hadn't been vacuumed. The sink had a coat of dirt around the drain that was gross, and to top it all off a BUG came out from under the TV to greet me as I was snapping pictures of the room. They also charge you $3 a day for super slow wifi (50kb/s speeds max) Don;t get me started on the "cholos" hanging out all night, police driving by making megaphone announcements, LOTS of kids running around, and it's in a generally shady area. I would never stay here again. You'd be better off and probably more insulated in your car! Pictures attached of sunflower seeds, mold, bugs, etc. I felt dirty AFTER my shower, went to the gym and showered again because it was cleaner there. Shame on this Motel 6 location.
