I am aware of the show Skin Wars but strangely (I'm a reality show buff), it's not one that it's in my current round-up of tv watching. However, Craig Tracy was one of the tattoo artists on the show and after seeing his artwork, it's clear to see why. Every piece in the gallery was a trick on the eyes as it was either a nature scene, an animal or some other cool item but there were always human bodies in each piece, as well. Sometimes you'd see the person first, sometimes the scene first. It was fun looking at every single piece. No editing, we were told! Which brings me to the great staff. Fabulously friendly, very informative and no pressure at all to buy but ready to help in that instance. Loved the artwork in the gallery and would love to purchase pieces in the future!

They did a great job for me years ago when I wanted to get reprints of my parents 1960 wedding photos done. The finish on the originals was odd but they were able to make great versions for me. I just had them print up a couple of odd sized items one from a native digital file and the other from a kodachrome. They look great! Getting to them is a bit of challenge (and is outlined on their website). Use the box next to the elevator and use the A/Z keys to scroll to their name, then type in #2000, then push the elevator button. You have to find their name AND push the code. When you get off the elevator on the 3rd floor, turn right. There are a couple of steps down so it is not wheelchair compliant. As for parking, there are reserved signs for the clinic on the 1st floor, those are available to Moldaner's clients as well.

His work is second to none, his prices are reasonable and what is most important if you are trusting someone with documenting a wedding or similar event, he is reliable. Most recently, a cousin of mine decided to get engaged in New Orleans. My gift to him was a few hours with Josh to commemorate the moment. With less than 24 hours notice, Josh put together a full day of photo shoots in fabulous spots in New Orleans! Not just the touristy places but a few secret spots that were perfect for the occasion and gave the flavor of New Orleans we are always looking for. The photos turned out amazing, they were thrilled it was all documented in such a professional matter. Best of all, I looked like a hero for setting him up with Josh! While Josh's photography skills are amazing, his artwork is awesome... A quick visit to his website will show you all the stuff he does... If you are looking for anything from a wedding photographer to someone to spruce up the lobby of your hotel, Josh is your one stop shop! I obviously can't recommend him enough.

I am a proud owner of multiple pieces of their collection and look forward to more -its never easy to decide on which ones to take home as their body of work is thorough and thoughtful in all aspects. I particularly love the eye they have for capturing New Orleans, the movement, the depth. Their expertise in printing, framing, and curating magically articulates the beautiful images they capture. I have had the pleasure of attending their studio in the French Quarter, as well as gallery shows and booths at Bayoo Boogaloo and Jazzfest, and it is truly a transcendent experience. They are an absolutely lovely and dynamic couple to be in the presence of, and are masters at sharing the human experience through their art. C'est magnifique!

We wanted to purchase some interesting art as a souvenir for our trip (our new habit to remember each amazing place we visit!), and we lucked out walking into this shop. This gallery boasts a vast collection of contemporary photography that displays the life, vitality, and hardship in New Orleans, among other subjects and locations. Daily life, architecture, and music are common subjects in Jose's (the photographer) works. After looking through a multitude of images, we could not decide what to purchase and ended up buying three (!!!) prints for our apartment. Jose allowed us to browse without pressuring us to buy. When we made a decision, he was extremely helpful in explaining our options for shipping our new acquisitions to the West Coast. He also informed us that prints could be framed using local, reclaimed wood (which we were very tempted by, but our wallets ended up winning the argument). Jose shipped our prints in a timely fashion, but unfortunately a mixup with the USPS caused the prints to end up in the wrong location. I emailed Jose to inform him of the issue, and he immediately shipped another set of prints to us, free of charge. I was blown away by his sense of customer service and was very appreciative as we were terrified we had lost not only our coveted images but also our investment in his work. Overall, we had a fabulous experience with this gallery and highly recommend it for anyone in New Orleans looking for beautiful art that won't break the bank. Make sure to stop by here on your visit, or if you live nearby. Thanks again, Jose and Eight One Eight Gallery!

His lovely art varies from pictures of New Orleans during a hard rainstorm, to St. Louis Cathedral in the fog and the people of New Orleans. What I like about Louis Sahuc's work is that it isn't typical New Orleans photography. Yes, there are pictures of the architecture of the city, but his work seems to contain more heart than some of the other work I've seen. I feel like his pictures are meant not only to appeal to tourists, but to find homes with locals as well. If you are in the area, be sure to stop in and check it out.

Stopping in is always a highlight of my walks through the French Quarter. My first purchase was 60x40 "Murder In the Dark". This piece I had shipped to me in Chicago. I was very impressed with packaging. I absolutely love this piece to the point of it being the centerpiece of my bedroom. My second purchase was 5x5 of one of Tanner's 12 new originals. This was purchased with the help of Lindsey over FB and the phone. I tuned into the live FB feed of the unveiling and knew my wife would love this piece. Lindsey was awesome to work with. I received notice of shipping the same day as purchase which was not expected yet appreciated. I love Tanner's work. His pieces are easy for me to get lost in. New Orleans is one of my favorite places and the couple pieces I've purchased give me a connection to this city I love. I recommend stopping in or staring through the windows when you walk down Royal in the French Quarter. Friendly staff and exceptional artwork.

This was my FAVORITE gallery on Dirty Linen Night…read more For starters, I LOVE any type of art that has a spooky twist. It has nothing to do with Halloween: I'm a year round, spooky decor type of person. The art here is right up my alley: leafless trees silhouetted against a dark, or dimly lit sky, moss hanging off of cypress trees in the shadows. The paintings make you feel as if you're looking out of a window onto a swampy scene at midnight. There was one piece that I particularly loved of shadowy trees against a red background. The forest seemed to call for you to come explore. In a perfect world I would have endless walls on which to hang all of the art that I covet. Until then, I'll have to make due with admiring these lovely works at Tanner Gallery.
