The service there was excellent. We called to see if they had the product we needed and then we went and got got it and we're very happy.

This is really not a camera shop, although technically it does sell a few low budget point and shoot cameras, its more a cell phone accessory and weird electronic odds and ends place. I reminded me a lot of those junky electronic places on 42nd street in NYC years ago. I would shop here at your own risk and take note there are no bargains here. read more

Very helpful, wanted a disposable camera and they had it. The man working was kind and helpful

The Camera Shoppe was a life saver! I came in with an iPhone6 plus where not only the screen was severely cracked, but there were obvious connectivity issues behind it all which caused my screen to glitch at times -- pressing buttons all on its own, and other times, making the screen totally unresponsive to touch all together. I had gone to a local competitor repair shop where the best they could do, was offer me was a repair job @ $250 over a 2 day wait; The Camera Shoppe was able to get the job done in under 2 hours & for only $80! I was a bit skeptical about whether or not they'd be able to fix it, having replaced the screen on my own previously in attempts to fix the glitching issue prior to ultimately cracking it(), but they did it!!! Immediately after leaving, I knew I had to leave them a 5-star review. I'm genuinely surprised the reviews received thus far have been unfortunately low/negative, but seeing as most of them are a bit dated, perhaps they've turned a new leaf. Cheers to 2020! I can see clearly now my screen is totally fixed & The Camera Shoppe saved me some money money! Thank you!! read more

Got ripped off $170 dollars for a $30 dollar lens. Guy there was a total douche trying to tell me that amazon sells fake lenses that his are real and reason for such a high price. As soon as I check online and realized I was taken return the next day to give him a chance to make it right, dude couldn't even look me in the eye. It took a lot of restrain from not throwing a brick through his window. I warned him there is consequences for do business like that and he would have to be accountable in this life or the next. What can I say partly my fault I'm new to the camera world I should left as soon as I felt pressured. In short a bunch of DOUCHES! God bless them they need it read more

Big rip off, DO NOT GO THERE. SELLING phones for four times the amount. They do not give receipts and was overcharged. Paid to activate phone and phone worked the day it was purchased. Then the next day had to pay another activation fee with the service provider. HORRIBLE BUSINESS ETHICS! Can't stress it enough! THIS the BUSINESS NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN!!! read more

I agree with all the reviewers thus far. Do not shop here unless absolutely necessary. The dude behind the counter really knows how to make you feel dumb and belittle you. Also doesn't hesitate to talk sh!t about other customers in front of you. Came in to get my cracked iPhone screen fixed. Originally just wanted a screen protector to hold me over in the meantime until the new iPhone came out. But the guy convinced me I was making the wrong decision and I should pay $100 to get the screen fixed. That's what I get for listening to the advice of a presumably trustworthy professional. Assured me that I would make my investment back by selling my iPhone 3Gs online. Dude did a crappy job! My phone now rattles and makes a horrible noise when it rings and vibrates. Also the screen is now starting to come off. WTF!!! Don't go here! read more

Rude, overpriced and the saleswoman even aimed a racist comment at me when I asked about charges and for a copy of the receipt. Don't shop here. The one star rating is only included because it is obligatory to rate the store and there is no option for zero or negative stars. read more

Chase came through and gave me a total refund!!!! The shop has been flagged by Visa!!!

Do not shop here if you can at all avoid it. Extremely overpriced and there are NO REFUNDS or EXCHANGES, all sales are final. The people inside are friendly and helpful, but all they really want to do is sell you something for two or three times what you'd pay at a normal camera shop. In other words, because you're in the French Quarter and there are few options, they feel they can rip you off. I fell for it and only realized it too late (should have listened to my gut). DO NOT believe them when they tell you they are discounting an item for you. Even with their discount, you are likely paying twice what it would retail for someplace else. read more

I wished I'd read all the reviews before I got ripped off today. BEWARE! They target unsuspected tourist. The prices are extremely overpriced! Do not fall for the nice sales person...he's a con artist with a nice smile. He will make you believe that you're getting a deal, no tax included..but he insist on using a debit card instead of a credit card...now I know why! LESSONED LEARNED! read more

Designed to RIP OFF TOURISTS! Stay away from this overpriced "Camera Shoppe" of lies!! My husband wrecked his iPhone 6 and decided to get a "cheap" Android phone for the remainder of our trip. The sales person made him a "great deal" on a $250 BLU Android phone. Some great deal... it turns out we could have gotten this phone for $90 on eBay. Of course, all sales are final. Lesson learned. Stay away from this horrible place. It doesn't deserve to be in business. read more

Would give zero stars if I had the option. Charged $77 for a $10 filter. I needed it and this was my only option. Would NOT go back!

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BUY ANYTHING IN THIS STORE!!!!!! They literally ripped me off for 76.00 I went in to this store desperate for a battery for my camera. The guy behind the counter found a battery on the shelf I gave him my credit card and two seconds later I was singing for this $76 battery. I was only then that I put it in my camera. Well guess what, it did not work. I said o OK just refund my money this is not going to work. He ignored me and opened three more to try them in my camera. He told me it was my camera, What kind of answer is that? I was just using my camera with my battery, I even showed him that my camera was working. I just needed a fresh one since I left my charger in my hotel. I ask again "please just give my money back" he said "no refunds sorry" I said you just sold me something that dose not work and you will not give me my money back? he said sorry store policy. I hit the roof I even called the Police, and got the manager on the phone. Still they stud there police and all and would not give me my money back. All they would say is " this is a cavil matter and we are not refunding your money. Call the credit card company if you don't like it" I left the store without the battery, So they have my money and I have nothing. THEY LITERALLY RAN MY CREDIT CARD AND I HAVE NO MERCHANDISE IN MY HAND!!!!! I can not believe how someone can do business like this. They pray on out of towner's who can't do much legally in there short time in New Orleans. This store should be shut down it is a black eye on a great city. read more

Camera Shoppe - This Store will rip you off. - Photography Stores & Services Near Me - New Orleans, Louisiana

Be warned the prices are about double of a major retailer, but if you are near Jackson Square and need a camera, splurge and pay the piper. They put a price tag on the merch that is double the MSRP then give you a discount. The cab ride to Best Buy would cost as much. It's like buying a camera at Disneyland. I cannot give them a bad rating, I knew what I was doing. read more

Awful. Sold me an iphone charger for $45 that doesn't work. No refunds or exchanges so uggggggh. I will go in and argue and update about what happens. read more

DO NOT uses this horrible place. They pulled film from behind the counter bagged it and I paid for it. Turns out it was the wrong film and the sales associate said "oh well, all sales are final" !!! Then proceeded on telling me I switched camera's, Really!! You are crooks! read more

Total rip off. Charge at least four times the going rate for memory. Refused refund or exchange.
