Contracted Simplified Construction to build 2 decks with stairs last year 2025. Ken Layton…read more(owner?) agreed to all requests. In the contract it was specified that all work was to be done according to code. Bottom line; Work was abandoned. Work was not done to code and resulted in an unsafe deck. Simplified Construction was nonresponsive for any remediation. Simplified Construction was taken to the Oregon Contractor's construction board for remediation was was found guilty. Simplified Construction defaulted on the above agreement. Simplified Construction was taken to small claims court and was found guilty. As of this date, Simplified Constructions license is being suspended by the construction board. FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, STAY AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN FROM SIMPLIFIED CONSTRUCTION. He was pleasant and professional. He told us when we should expect the estimate and that arrived as expected. Once we chose our paint color ( we were pleased his business used top of the line paint) he gave us a start/ finish date. On the date set he showed up on time with an assistant who quickly went to work washing and prepping the walls. Once the painting began they stayed late and finished everything in one day.
